* OnceOriginalNowCommon: ''Den-O'' was released when ''Kamen Rider'' was in danger of being cancelled due to low ratings compared to its long-time rival ''Franchise/SuperSentai'', and consequently was made very stylistically different from prior Rider series, straying away from the complex ideological clashes and low-key character writing of prior series in favour of focusing on the dynamics between its core cast, who all sported much more exaggerated personalities akin to anime and manga characters (even getting popular voice actors to voice the Taros). While this proved to be a wild success that propelled the franchise well past ''Super Sentai'' into being one of Toei's main IP's, its deviations are far less likely to be felt now, as much of what made it so iconic would quickly become the norm in the Neo-Heisei Era, while aspects such as its comparatively thin main narrative and weak lead villain stick out much more. That being said, nobody is ''too'' mad about the ''Den-O'' cast for making continual reappearances given the fact that the entire [=DenLiner=] crew is ''comedy gold''.

* SugarWiki/MostWonderfulSound: The Zeronos Belt mixes quiet guitar music with marimba and flute solos for a very soothing standby, which is similar to Wing Form's, which has harp strings and piano music. However, most fans are more likely to recognize the Sword Form standby, which is most likely due to the Imagin associated with it.

** As noted under the "TheyChangedItNowItSucks" entry, one of the complaints detractors of this series will lobby at it is that it feels more like a Sentai series than a Kamen Rider series. 10 years later, ''Film/KamenRiderXSuperSentaiChouSuperHeroTaisen'' brought us Kamen Sentai Gorider, an actual Sentai Team of Kamen Riders [[PunnyName featuring Momotaros as the "Momo-Rider"]].

* AwesomeMusic: Den-O is an outlier from other Rider series in that a large portion of it's song catalogue is ''almost entirely composed of covers''. That, however', doesn't stop them from being ''absolute earworms''.

** Pretty much the ''entire main cast'' due to their ''abundant'' comedy potential, most of all the heroic Imagin. The main four Taros are particular subjects, however, and of them the one with the biggest spotlight is Momotaros.

Idiot Plot is now Flame Bait

* IdiotPlot: In the climatic fight for ''Climax Deka'', everyone transforms into their rider forms and the spare Imagin go into the fight to fend off the spare Fangire around the room. What should have been an awesome fight is severely undercut by the problems of the scene.
** Overall, the fight choreography is ''terrible''. Zeronos is unable to even scratch the Clown Imagin due to it staying out of his sword's range, despite his sword being able to turn into a crossbow. For some reason, Ryutaros enters the fight without his Ryuvolver, but everyone else comes in with their own weapons; whenever the Taros swap out in their fight against Negataros, they also come away without their weapons and are never seen using them again in the film. The Fangire they fight, too, never go out of their human disguises when fighting the Taros. The fight is only resolved because Zeronos becomes Vega Form, and Deneb is the only one who thinks to actually use a ranged final attack...and is somehow able to fire off a volley of these shots on one charge, destroying anyone not an ally or Negataros.
** The fight against Nega Den-O itself, though inventive in that everyone swaps weapons around to counter the new ones their opponent wields, comes to a jarring close in that, even when in Climax form, none of the Taros are able to match him. Things only turn around for them from the inclusion of Kiva, [[ContinuitySnarl who, unlike in his own series, wasn't directed to the fight, but simply managed to ''find it'' while hunting down Fangire.]] [[note]]For those not in the know, Kiva is led to Fangire attacks he's unaware of thanks to a unique violin he has at his home, which mentally directs him to fights he isn't already present at. Wataru is entirely too passive to actively roam the streets randomly looking for Fangire to kill.[[/note]]
** [[spoiler: Furthermore, why was the ZeroLiner, a train that relied on close range combat, set ''behind'' the ranged fighting DenLiner when fighting against Negataros' own time train, and where were the support trains that Den-O has access to? [[WorfEffect Oh, yeah, because Kiva has barely been in the movie and they needed an excuse to bring him in again to save everyones' sorry backsides]].]]

* TheScrappy: Beloved as the series might be, you'd find very few fans who would admit to liking [[BigBad Kai]], viewing him as an incredibly uninteresting and underdeveloped GenericDoomsdayVillain introduced far too late to have any strong presence. Many joke to having forgotten ''Den-O'' even ''had'' a central villain.
