** Depending who you ask, Black Magic is either a flawed but ultimately sympathetic character who earns their redemption, or a creepy RelationshipSue who practically railroads the MC into becoming intimate with them and never faces any real consequences for [[spoiler:[[MoralEventHorizon draining the life force of disabled people to enhance their powers.]]]]

* GuideDangIt: Want to [[spoiler:[[GoldenEnding both save Miss Boss' life and get the final treatment needed to save JK?]]]] Well, hope you spent the game maxing out a stat that's ''completely unrelated'' to the situation at hand so your [[spoiler: cryptobiosis powers]] work as necessary to achieve said result. ** It loses a lot of impact, though once you realize in the end she's getting [[StuffedIntoTheFridge fridged]] for the sake of the protagonist getting their powers back. Booo.

** Related to StupidSacrifice below: No one on the team seems to have an idea about the villain who fired the missile. No one but Weaver. Now, how would they get that intel when no one of the big teams has it? Well, look at who is coordinating the entire world-saving endeavor: Lyra, their aunt. And what did Lyra also do, upon knowing there is a dangerous villain to face who can create heat-seeking missiles? She sent the only available ice-manipulator elsewhere. And apparently the entire thing is being broadcasted. How much damage and harm is she willing to do for the ratings?

* UnfortunateImplications: So many, that giving those their own subpage would be perfectly justified. From a never once positively portrayed stand-in for a extremely racist image of Black people, over cis-hetero people being declared the foremost spokespeople for queer rights to all forms of disability being portrayed as a sign of irredeemable evilness. Or the ultimate good ending is 'all is good once everyone different moved unto a reservation and stays there'?

* StupidSacrifice: Courtesy of [[spoiler:Rebellion]] in Open Season. Okay, so that missile can go through energy shields but does not nullify powers? Why could the atomkinetic/gravity manipulator that is the old MC not disarm it? Or why not disable it's rockets and fling it away? There had been dozens of possibilities, but no...

* FridgeBrilliance: A lot of the {{Anvilicious}} {{AuthorTract}}s present in Redemption Season can actually be {{justified}} in that a lot of Reality TV contestants usually lie about or play up events in their life prior to being on the show to garner sympathy [[note]]A good example of which being Jonny Fairplay lying about his grandmother dying on season seven of {{Survivor}}[[/note]], which some of the contestants could be doing as well.

*** Open Season manages to make it worse, railroading the player into certain choice and making it impossible to get the best ending without making the "good" choice.
*** There isn't really a "best ending". The endings are ALL the same, with only marginally different flavortext. Much worse is that one can literally end the game with 86 legend (enough to unlock the bonus chapter) by simply spamming the next button.
