** While possibly justified for reasons similar to another hero franchise, the views on gender politics get a somewhat heavy-handed in-game discussion (see StopBeingStereotypical) in The Hero Project.

* FridgeBrilliance: A lot of the Anvilicious AuthorTracts present in Redemption Season can actually be justified in that a lot of Reality TV contestants usually lie about or play up events in their life prior to being on the show to garner sympathy A good example of which being Jonny Fairplay lying about his grandmother dying on season seven of Series/Survivor, which some of the contestants could be doing as well.

* HarsherInHindsight: The Hero Project and Herofall came out in 2013 and 2014 respectively. As soon as Victon is elected president in the former, he starts talking about rounding up and specifically targeting a select group of citizens, and in the latter, the radical cult he's aligned with is revealed to be ANaziByAnyOtherName functionally a Nazi allegory (see below). Considering UsefulNotes/DonaldTrump got elected in 2016 and a lot of his policies and political supporters mirror this almost exactly, it hits a lot closer to home, especially for people who were targeted under Trump's regime.
