Up To Eleven is a defunct trope

* GameBreaker: The Wasp Hive series of rifles early in the game. Fire and forget indeed. "Skillful/Proficient" gear may apply as well, as you can get high-level skills early on - such as Afterlife (which basically turns corpses into health potions) for the Evoker. Or you can get one of your existing skills [[UpToEleven upgraded a notch or two]] having a [[ReadingsAreOffTheScale "rank" higher than maximum for that skill]].

Renamed some tropes.

* CrowningMomentOfAwesome: The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0N735VQRebw opening cinematic]], which is straight-up one of the best in gaming history. Too bad the [[ObviousBeta actual]] [[SoOkayItsAverage game]] didn't quite live up to it.
** [[TheWarSequence The Millenium Battle]] certainly qualifies. You fight versus lots of Mooks with some comrades who help you by drawing Mooks to themselves, and you activate turrets for even more damage. It must be seen.
* CrowningMomentOfFunny: See ClusterFBomb above. Who ''didn't'' spend ten minutes clicking on the guy just to listen?

* GoddamnBats: Ravagers hop around in packs, usually scattered within barking distance of each other, all over the map, and are worth paltry experience for your troubles. The Chompers may be this to some, but to some they're kind of cute -- until they get bigger.

* ScrappyLevel: Embankment Redoubt, [[UnexpectedGameplayChange Sudden Genre Shift]] puts the player in charge of a RedshirtArmy, to be torn up on the battlefield in situations players could, with the skills developed up to that point, handle by themselves.

ymmv can not have examples, only their subitems can

** Angel Passage is a major offender. You have to ''clean up'' a whole level. With a fixed weapon. And every destroyed Boil leaves a Poison damage field. You're not required to remove all of the Boils, but it's a good idea as you'll be facing a boss in a field full of them otherwise. You'll die ''fast''.
* YourMileageMayVary: Whether the later patches fixing obvious and painful bugs was enough to make the game good is up for debate.
