* TheScrappy:
** The Explorer Guy is one of the least popular characters in the game. Very few fans like him because he's difficult to control, very top-heavy and prone to falling over, can't jump, and a relatively useless special ability (see ThisLooksLikeAJobForAquaman). It's very rare seeing players pick this guy or there being maps where he's the set character.
** "[[BribingYourWayToVictory R8 5 To Unlock]]" levels, where an object that would make an otherwise nearly impossible level easier to complete or even the ''victory line'' is blocked to the player with a message telling them to rate the level with five stars and then it will be unblocked. Even among the more hated level gimmicks in the game, this one really takes the cake for the userbase as the uploader is attempting to artificially inflate their level's rating just so it will get a higher rating, and thus appear early on in the level lists. Combined this with the fact that the uploader rarely follows through with unblocking the objects/finish line, (likely out of fear of ceasing to get the 5-star ratings they aren't legitimately earning in the first place) and you get one of the most hated gimmicks in the game's history.
** "Naked Character Glitch" levels. All of these levels are largely identical: Your character sits inside a box with either [[{{Fanservice}} the Irresponsible Mom or the Motorcycle Couple Woman]] outside with a message claiming either that a glitch causes them to appear to be naked or that the level maker will make them appear to be so if the player rates 5. Not only does this "glitch" not actually exist (nor do the characters actually become naked unless the level maker puts a flesh-colored graphical effect over them), but once less-skilled level makers realized that they could score 5-star ratings this way (in a similar vein to the above), the level list became ''flooded'' with this type of level. Very quickly, these levels became another widely detested level gimmick and is almost always listed in lists of level gimmicks that need to stop.

Added DiffLines:

* SelfImposedChallenge:
** Playing through levels as the Moped Couple usually counts. The moped's high weight makes it difficult to maneuver, and it usually can't be flipped over once it's upside down (at least without killing its riders). Its density makes the riders exceptionally prone to being ripped in half by sudden jolts. Expect any level forcing them to be HarderThanHard.
** Here's something to try out: find one of those Pogostick Man "Harpoon dodge" levels with multiple stages, and try to get impaled at least once every round without dying in the process.

Added DiffLines:

* MemeticLoser: Likewise, if you're on an aforementioned map or something of the sort that measures your skill, the least difficult part or close to it will almost always be labeled "Music/JustinBieber". Also frequently appears as an easy target in sword throws.

* MostAnnoyingSound:
** Pogostick Man's over-the-top screams of pain can be funny at first, but when he constantly makes them, it's unbearable. Expect this to happen if you're going through the stage with a blade weapon stuck in his body.
** If there's more than a dozen finish lines layered on top of each other and thus triggered, then it results in [[SensoryAbuse this.]]
** Wheelchair Guy shouting [[OwMyBodyPart "Ow my leg!"]] especially since he usually says it when something other than his legs are injured.

Added DiffLines:

* NintendoHard: The mobile version.

* AngstWhatAngst: The ''Irresponsible Dad'' tends to react to the deaths of his kid with a mildly annoyed ''dammit''.

* EnsembleDarkhorse: Irresponsible Dad is without a doubt the most popular of the current characters, likely due to being a favorite of many of the Let's Players who have taken a shot at the game. It doesn't hurt that he's tailor-made for VideoGameCrueltyPotential due to his son.

* ThatOneLevel: "99% Impossible" levels, which at least 90 percent of the time are fully dependent on [[LuckBasedMission luck]] in order to complete them and have the difficult-to-use Pogostick Guy as the playable character. The ones that are actually well-made aren't usually any less difficult, but at least that's because they are difficult for more legitimate reasons.

Added DiffLines:

* ArchivePanic: There's no way for anybody to ever play all of the available levels due the the massive volume of users adding them. Then again, there's little reason to want to play all of them due to their repetition and general low quality.

Added DiffLines:

* MisaimedFandom: There are many levels named for the ''{{Franchise/Saw}}'' series, but are merely about creating contraptions/animations to kill NPC characters for fun rather than having anything to do with the signature aspect of choice in the devices. Given that the gore is what people remember most, though, it's understandable.

* FanNickname: Thanks to LetsPlay/JackSepticEye's Let's Plays of this game, the Segway Guy has been affectionately dubbed "Segway Steve". (Or "Spikefall Steve", thanks to the character's tendency to be used for spike-fall levels.) The Irresponsible Dad's son is also typically called "Billy" (and the dad "Bobby") by the playerbase, also thanks to him. Timmy is another popular name for the son, as well. (For that you can thank Jack's fellow [[https://www.freegames66.com/happy-wheels Happy Wheels]] player LetsPlay/{{Markiplier}}.)
