* ArcFatigue: The Zenith of Things Tournament (Z.O.T.T.) arc. Begun in ''Last Order'' Chapter 25. '''Ended in 110.''' So fatigued that it's broken up by various ''sub'' arcs, some of which experience fatigue themselves(the Vampire arc, where all of Earth's backstory is revealed). Bewildering once you realize that the Z.O.T.T. was only supposed to be a ''distraction'' for Alita's infiltration of Ketheres.
** Even more bewildering, in-universe the Z.O.T.T. took place over the time of a week. While in the original 9 volumes 16 years went by. This is actually ''{{Lampshaded}}'' in [[http://manga.animea.net/battle-angel-alita-last-order-chapter-93-page-15.html chapter 93]].
--->'''Toji''': ''It's only been two months since we fought on Leviathan 1... But it feels like it's been years, doesn't it?''

* CrackIsCheaper: The prices for the Creator/VizMedia translation of the manga can vary, but their final ''Last Order'' volumes are noted to be particularly expensive. Thankfully, the Kodansha releases of ''Last Order'' are much cheaper, but those looking to complete their collection of the Viz versions will have to spend a lot. Most fans suggest foregoing the Viz Media version of ''Last Order'' entirely for this reason.

** ''Battle Angel'' {{OVA}}: [[AdaptationalVillainy Stripped of all his redeeming qualities from of the manga]], [[BigBad Vector]] is a cruel crime lord who reigns over Iron City. Stringing along young Yugo with promises to send him to Zalem, Vector has Yugo and others illegally [[OrganTheft remove the spines of cyborgs in a black market trade]] to enrich himself, while also funding highly illegal operations. Vector even executes a victim himself to prove a point to Yugo about witnesses. When Yugo is caught, Vector calmly sells him out to be killed. Not content with this, Vector also keeps the scientist Chiren under his thumb with promises to return her to Zalem, extorting sex from her in the process. Vector later reveals what going to Zalem truly means: murdering people and harvesting them for their organs, which he does on a monthly basis, uncaring why so long as he profits.

While various Novas have been FauxAffablyEvil or AffablyEvil, Super Nova is just plain evil.

** Even more bewildering, in universe the Z.O.T.T. took place over the time of a week. While in the original 9 volumes 16 years went by. This is actually ''{{Lampshaded}}'' in [[http://manga.animea.net/battle-angel-alita-last-order-chapter-93-page-15.html chapter 93]].

* FoeYay: Ridiculously implied in the impromptu fight/thumb wrestling match where Zekka does some serious hardcore flirting with Sechs. But then, Zekka's such an [[CrazyAwesome epic-level]] [[TheAce martial artist]] that it's entirely possible he can tell Sechs is a GenderBender, just from the way he moves.

* FreudWasRight: There are many many dick jokes to be made in this series.
** [[ToiletHumor And poop jokes, and fart jokes]]... The humor in this series generally isn't very refined.
** Anomaly is a cartoonishly proportioned creature... with a penis almost as big as it is.

* EpilepticTrees: In Volume 3, Sechs notice something is wrong in Jeru when Elf and Zwoelf's little toys start flying away. Afterwards Elf and Zwoelf are completely in Mbadi's control. Several volumes later we learn that Elf and Zwoelf's brainchips are not in their bodies but the little toys they carry on their shoulders.

* BaseBreaker: ''Last Order'' in all its size and glory. Some fans (while usually noting its shortcomings) see it as a welcome addition to the series which brings in new faces, deepens the WorldBuilding and is generally fun to read. Other feel that it's an empty action-stuffed drivel that throws all the depth of the original out the window in favor of boring {{Flash Back}}s, {{Infodump}}s, mindless {{Tournament Arc}}s, and [[MonsterOfTheWeek Monsters Of The Week]].

Added DiffLines:

* TheUntwist: [[spoiler: Alita's brain in Last Order is a micro-chip]]. While it's unexpected, considering how much of a punishment [[spoiler: she]] endures, it'd be more shocking that [[spoiler:her brain was 100% human]].

* GodModeSue: Nova turns Alita into one in the original ending [[{{ForScience}} just to see what would happen.]] He even lampshades it by informing her of her new "do anything you desire"- status.

* VillainSue: Desty. Effing. NOVA. CompleteMonster with practically unlimited resources, [[InsufferableGenius too smart to keep as an ally]] (but too smart to ''want'' as an enemy), and functionally immortal (of the "destroy as many bodies as you want, he will ''always'' come back" variety). Mbadi could be considered one as well at the beginning of the manga, but as of recently events have conspired to drive him into quite the VillainousBreakdown.
