* NightmareFuel: The Forgotten Pieces. Weird fragments that swarm you mercilessly if you enter their territory while holding anima, like some sort of psychotic bugs. They can't stand light, but screech and ''seem to catch fire'' when throwing themselves into a lighted zone in pursuit of you.
* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: Bonku was a brilliant clockmaker on Earth, but became Forgotten because no one was interested in handmade clocks anymore. All he wants to do is go home and (it's strongly implied) be remembered and respected again. [[spoiler: The "destroyer of worlds" part is very literal, though - his Ether Bridge will literally destroy the realm of the Forgotlings if anyone walks through it. Bonku knows that but has rationalised it away as the Forgotling realm not being "real" and therefore being expendable.]]

* FanonDiscontinuity: Regarding the endings and especially the fate of Anne. [[spoiler: Respectively the Sacrifice one is view as DownerEnding and the other as a possible StableTimeLoop. These endings frustrated a lot of players, feeling there were no good choice or even ''any'' choice possible for Anne, while the game constantly reminds the choices you make earlier. Some people even get the Aesop that Anne didn't have her place anywhere, regarding the world she was — which isn't exactly heartwarming. Fanfic writers disregard the latter ending and pretends the Sacrifice Ending only kill Bonku (or neither) and nowadays work to make amend, or even TakeAThirdOption to make sure Anne gets her happy ending.]]
