* SpecialEffectFailure: [[spoiler: When Buddy's house becomes visible from space, the bright light somehow emanating from the computer screen stops right at the edge of the desktop, so it's just a video on the computer.]]

Added DiffLines:

** An even more blatant example- during Buddy's light show when his light show is sync'd to a DJ mixer's performance, the mixer is clearly playing music from 2 iPod classics.

* DesignatedHero: While the movie focus more on Buddy and clearly wants us to side with him, his action once things start hitting the fan can make this impossible to some viewers. Steve isn't any better, sure he's in the right that Buddy is being disruptive with his antics, but rather than do anything sensible, he decides to try and outdo Buddy at his own game and comes off as equally childish.

** Buddy having to warm up a near-hypothermic Steve in a sleeping bag with his body heat...''meaning both were nude''.

No Fridge mentions on YMMV pages — leave them on their own page.

* FridgeHorror: A very literal example, as Buddy claims he dropped a fridge upon a cat while moving in; on the upside '''most of it''' got away.

"Idiot Plot" is now Flame Bait.

* IdiotPlot: Nobody seems to feel the need to call the police on either Steve or Buddy as they continue to disrupt the neighborhood with their competitive antics, even as the two are causing serious property damage and resorting to various acts of theft, sabotage and forgery to outwit each other.

EDW is Definition-Only now.

* EightDeadlyWords: Who do you root for in this movie? The selfish, arrogant guy named Steve or the selfish, arrogant guy named Buddy? Not helping is that the plot is basically about Buddy's vanity project, there's a lot of destruction of Christmas icons, such as trees, and no one, even background characters, are likable.
