* FandomHeresy: Drawing or viewing Rule34 art of the platelets is very much frowned upon, and may be literally illegal depending on your local laws.

* MisaimedFandom: A decent portion of both fans and regular anime viewers have come to hold the belief that the series making Cancer Cell a TragicVillain is an attempt at creating a sympathetic villain based on one of the most deadly afflictions known to man, resulting in a BrokenBase where some find this in poor taste and others genuinely believe that he deserves a little sympathy for his tragic life circumstances. However, both sides miss the subtle points that show how, while Cancer Cell ''is'' a TragicVillain, he has a blatant case of FreudianExcuseIsNoExcuse, making it clear that no matter how badly the world treated him, throwing a SuicidalCosmicTemperTantrum shows he doesn't actually care about the injustice dealt with him in relation to cells overall, just [[ItsAllAboutMe how it affected him personally]], so [[PutThemAllOutOfMyMisery he'd rather have every cell in the body, including innocent cells who never meant harm to him, die with him just to soothe his bruised ego]]--and this is illustrated in his second appearance, where he goes full-on OmnicidalManiac. In simpler words, they completely forgot this is, first of all, an ''EdutainmentShow'' about the human body, which means all sources of disease -- which certainly includes Cancer Cell -- are not intended to be treated sympathetically.

Changed to a suitable Trope name.

* BrokenBase: The decision to portray Cancer Cell as a sympathetic TragicVillain rather than a straight-up force of evil to be defeated leaves viewers divided. Some like the complexity behind Cancer Cell in how he's not a generic villain like most of the other nasties the Immune System deals with and that it does fit in that he's just a normal cell that was born wrong. Others feel this isn't accurate as Cancer Cells are genuinely doing harm by violating the laws of the body and shouldn't be depicted as a circumstantial victim, and then there's those who have suffered because of cancer and don't wish to feel any sympathy towards a representation of it.

* OlderThanTheyThink: The series isn't actually the first time that cancer cells have been given a humanizing performance - that would go to [[https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xZ0aksbiiXw an animation called It's Payback Time]]. The two big differences are that 1. the audience doesn't know the cells are cancer cells until the very end, and 2. [[GuiltFreeExterminationWar the cancer cells' death are portrayed as a triumphant moment for mankind]].

Shipping Goggles TRS cleanup, out-of-universe examples are to be removed as it's now just Fan Speak.

* ShippingGoggles:
** U-1146 is occasionally shipped with Killer T Cell (Squad Leader) despite (or perhaps ''because'') of [[SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan their interactions]] in the actual series.
** Shipping Killer T Squad Leader with NK Cell (and, to a lesser extent, the pairing of B Cell and Mast Cell) also counts. Their on-screen interactions have been consistently hostile, and there are no indication that they remotely like one another, but fans see their dynamic as a BelligerentSexualTension.

** When Red Blood Cell and White Blood Cell are portrayed as humans in fanfiction, their names are usually [[Anime/PsychoPass "Akane"]] and "Shiro" or variations thereof. (Akane is a female Japanese name that contains the kanji for red, while Shiro simply means white.)

** Being a series based around humanized versions of blood cells, viruses, and the general inner workings of the human body, it's, in some ways, a {{Moe|Anthropomorphism}}-fied ''Film/OsmosisJones'' (or for non-Americans, ''WesternAnimation/OnceUponATime... Life'' due to its {{Edutainment}} status).
