Added DiffLines:

** Season 2 keeps the trend going, hitting you with some [[FamilyUnfriendlyAesop heavy-handed life lessons that scoff at typical children's media]], political jabs towards [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Late_capitalism late-stage capitalism]]... oh and [[spoiler: even a graphic (but [[CensorBox mercifully mostly censored]]) picture of a car crash victim's shown as part of a driving school course.]] And no, the art style does nothing to mitigate the gravitas of it all!

Added DiffLines:

** Season Two introduces a female spaniel who checks on various people at the driving school (mainly Tadano). While she has a small amount of screen time, she started gaining her own set of fans due to her [[DeadpanSnarker snarky and monotone attitude]].

Added DiffLines:

** One of the later episodes of Season 2 [[spoiler: has Retsuko becoming a student at a driving school to get her driver's license. One class lecture is dedicated to driver safety, with the students being shown a slideshow that contains graphic images of the aftermath of a car crash/accident. While we don't see the rest that Retsuko mentions after the lecture, we do see a photo showing a dead driver complete with a bloody cracked windshield, which makes her feel sick in the stomach.]]

* AccidentalAesop: While the franchise as a whole encourages letting out the aggression that comes with the frustrations of everyday life, many feminists have [[https://dotandline.net/aggretsuko-anger-essay-2bbb4730a285 interpreted it as a show about how women in particular shouldn't be expected to bottle up their anger]].

Added DiffLines:

** There was some initial confusion regarding Tadano's species, with some viewers thinking he was a rabbit due to his long ears. The fact that he's one of the few, if not the ''only'' animal who's appeared in the show so far with an abnormal fur color (he has light purple fur with a blue mane, possibly dyed) only added to the confusion. Once you see his tail it becomes a lot more apparent that he's a donkey.

** [[spoiler: [[CantTakeCriticism Anai]]. At first, he plays off this adorable facade of kindness...but the ''minute'' someone corrects him, he goes into a FreakOut mode and sends people alerting messages that could potentially be used as leverage against them. YIKES!]]

YIKES!]]

* SpiritualAntithesis: Retsuko and the whole show itself can be one from ''Manga/DetroitMetalCity'', another show dealing with a main character (Soichi Negishi/Johannes Krauser II) singing Metal music as a part of their double life. While both Retsuko and Negishi sings Metal as a way to deal with their personal frustrations in their lives, this is when the similarities end: While Negishi (as Krauser) sings Metal partly because that's his job (even if he is forced to sing Metal against his will), Retsuko is just a fan of the genre herself, with no plans to become a pro soon. Also, while both shows deal with the Metal genre, ''Agressive Retsuko'' only use the genre as a FramingDevice for Retsuko's personality, while DMC deals exclusively with the genre itself.

Added DiffLines:

** In season 2: Marriage is not for everybody. Some people just don't do well with that or don't want to get married, despite their desire to be with someone else in a steady, monogamous, and lasting relationship, such as Tadano and Washimi, while some people genuinely want to get married and are happier in such a life. It's important to know which category you fit and which category your romantic partner fits in, when you're considering a long term relationship.

Added DiffLines:

* OneSceneWonder: Despite only apearring for one scene and one flashback, Shirota is generally very well liked by the fans due to being a charming and nice BigBeautifulMan that finally gets Retsuko thinking about what to do with her life.

* TheWoobie: Haida is a sweet guy who can't manage to land the girl he likes, despite her being right around him all the time. He seems to have his self-confidence particularly mined after Retsuko ignores him in favor of Resasuke.

** '''Retsuko.''' She's and ExtremeDoormat who's only skill of note is following orders, which allows her tyrant of a boss at her dead end job to walk all over her and call her a degrading name. Season 2 makes her life even more of a living hell with [[MyBelovedSmother her intrusive mother taking an iron grip to her personal life]] ''and'' being forced to train an uncooperative intern, taking almost all of the brunt for his abuse. It it any wonder that her main source of catharsis is screaming death metal?

* AnimationAgeGhetto: Oh boy. Despite being aimed to the teen & adult demographic, and due to being in the same studio as Hello Kitty, Malaysia ''features the character as part of the promo poster'' for the Sanrio Times Exhibition held in December 2018.
* AuthorsSavingThrow: While Puca carefree attitude came across as her being a LazyBum and careless, the Christmas Special shows she actually ''is'' working at her import business and is apparently so busy that she has to turn down Retsuko's invite to hangout.
** Season One focused on Retsuko wanting to marry someone just so she would quit work, while [[spoiler: Season Two mediated this by having her fall in love with a genuinely NiceGuy]].
