* SignatureScene: The Cross This Bridge Song. Its undertones of tragedy, characterization through the lyrics, and higher quality than the majority of the songs in the movie- is regarded as the highlight of this adaptation.
* TearJerker: Two song segments manage to be especially tear-wrenching.
** "Shadows"- a young boy Scrooge sings about his potential adventures via imagining them through his shadows that will hopefully lead to a friendship with his classmates but realizes that he's just alone and he has no friends- leading him to sulk.
** "Cross This Bridge"- the young man Scrooge and his former lover share a song about the crossroads- with the latter wanting Scrooge to be willing to risk love despite the poverty it might potentially bring but it would be worth it as they'd have each other. However, the young Scrooge sings about how going into an uncertain future is too risky and how it's better to focus on wealth over idealism. Throughout the song, it's clear they're not on the same wavelength as the lover attempts to get Scrooge to take the risk but all Scrooge is stating is it's better to pragmatic up until they agree it's better that they'd depart.
*** All while the now elderly Scrooge looks with saddened dismay at his youthful self's ignorance at not realizing how he's pushing a possible future with a woman and then tears up as they depart. He then calls him a fool for not going after her, referring to how after all these years, Scrooge still laments how he threw away love for greed that left him so obsessed he lives poorly because of the obsessive miser he became.

* HilariousInHindsight: Michael York plays Bob Cratchit in this film, with Tim Curry starring as Scrooge. Three years later, York himself would play a very Tim Curry-esque role in [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/WesternAnimation/TheLandBeforeTimeVIITheStoneOfColdFire]]

Beauty and the Beast predates this movie, so this doesn't count

* HilariousInHindsight: After playing [[WesternAnimation/TheLittleMermaid1989 Ariel]], Creator/JodiBenson was an early choice to play Belle in [[WesternAnimation/BeautyAndTheBeast Disney's next work]] before it ultimately went to Paige O'Hara. Here she's playing another character named Belle.

* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: "Santa's Sooty Suit," a DisneyAcidSequence musical number that comes out of nowhere and is very silly compared to the rest of the movie.
* NightmareRetardant: The neon purple aura the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come has makes him hard to take seriously.
