However, Touma has no problem attacking females that he knows are harming/murdering innocent people or his friends. He has, in fact, gotten into tear-up fist fights with women who he is explicitly attracted to. I'm not sure the wording is perfect.

%%* Touma of ''Literature/ACertainMagicalIndex'' has no problem hitting women '''at all''' if their motivations involve the harming and murdering of decent human beings, and decks one female enemy (who was about to start a full scale war between Espers and Magicians that would result in the death of innocent millions) ''in the face'' at least twice in the same arc, knocking her out. In fact, almost nobody in the series has a problem with using extreme physical force against a female enemy, and to be fair the women in this series tend to be [[WorldOfBadass genuinely competent fighters]] that it would be downright '''stupid''' to hold back against. Cleaning up and removing all examples that do acknowledge gender norms in the narrative.

* Pictured is Akuru "A-kun" Akutsu of ''Manga/AhoGirl'', who frequently teaches the titular idiotic girl Yoshiko a lesson for her annoying antics by pulling off a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown. It's not limited to Yoshiko, but to other characters as well.
* Eren from ''Manga/AttackOnTitan'' has no problems with headbutting Mikasa when she shows willingness to disobey her superiors' orders and later [[spoiler: doesn't pull any punches while fighting the Female Titan he knows to be Annie]]. Much later on, he [[spoiler: kills Lady Tybur in order to steal the power of the War Hammer Titan]].

* Tomonori Iwaki of Rizelmine has no problem throwing Rizel around or calling her an idiot when she gets to obssessive towards him. Somewhat deconstructed as Rizel is 12 and he's 15. Also he gets his commupance at the end of each ep, albeit more for the verbal abuse rather than physical abuse, the latter which Rizel is prone to squeeing from.
* In Season 2, Episode 7 of ''Literature/BakaAndTestSummonTheBeasts'', Yuji knocks out PsychoLesbian Miharu, who's currently attacking Akihisa, with a karate chop to the head, though the chop didn't look strong at all.

* ''Manga/BlackButler'':
** DarkActionGirl Grell Sutcliffe gleefully helped Madame Red murder prostitutes who got abortions, and then she killed Madam Red for "becoming too soft" when she refused to harm Ciel. She also wrote Matilda's name down on her 'death list' just for sleeping with Sebastian, although in this case Grell never attacked her nor did Matilda actually die.
** Alois also has few qualms with physically punishing his maid Hannah, even [[EyeScream taking out her eye]]. Claude also gets in on it a bit during the Trancy OVA and overall doesn't treat Hannah too kindly either.
** Sebastian can and will beat up and kill a female opponent just as easily as he will a male one, two examples being the aforementioned Grell and Hannah. There was also that time he knocked out [[spoiler: Elizabeth]] and admitted he only spared her because [[spoiler: she's engaged to Ciel.]]
** The Phantomhive servants will also brutally waste away anyone who poses a threat to their beloved household regardless of gender, best example being Bard nuking Beast via flour explosion.
* Train Heartnet during the beginning of the ''Manga/BlackCat'' anime, while he was still [[TheStoic emotionless]] and working for [[NebulousEvilOrganization Chronos]]. [[EstablishingCharacterMoment Right in the beginning]], he is shown beating down and assassinating a bunch of nuns (though...they apparently weren't ''actually'' {{n|aughtyNuns}}uns, considering that they pulled out a bunch of guns and tried to ''kill'' him) during a mission.
* ''Manga/BlackClover'':
** Mars is fully willing to beat down anyone who stands between him and the local dungeon's treasure, as Mimosa and Noelle can testify.
** Solid Silva has [[BigBrotherBully tormented]] his little sister Noelle in childhood ''and'' adulthood; he's seen verbally abusing her, slapping away the food off her plate and, in the anime, he even spills a glass of water on her head at the awards banquet. During the Royal Knights Selection Exam, he doesn't hold back against Noelle at all when they're pitted against each other in magic combat. [[spoiler: Unfortunately for him, his best isn't good enough, as Noelle [[CurbStompBattle brutally pays him back]] [[TheDogBitesBack for all the years she's suffered under him.]]]]
* In ''Manga/BlackGod'' female lead Kuro fights plenty of opponents that are pursuing her. Many of whom are male, and they don't only hit, but also tend to beat her savagely. Fortunately, Kuro is a very capable ActionGirl that is more than able to fight back and turn the tables at the end.

** In Yammy's first appearance, he smacks Orihime so hard he sends her flying, and then aims a [[WaveMotionGun Cero]] at her and Yoruichi. When an arrancar nurse later restores his lost arm, he instantly kills her. He eventually attacks Loly and Menoly for no particular reason, first punching Menoly so hard she crashes through the wall and then beating Loly to near death.
** Kenpachi murders a female Sternritter by tearing her throat out, and also battles (and ultimately kills) [[spoiler: Unohana]]. Given that Kenpachi loves fighting more than anything, it's to be expected that he couldn't care less about his opponent's gender. What's more, his battle with [[spoiler: Unohana]] ultimately needed her to wound [[spoiler: and heal]] him in order to break the shackles on his power and thus kills her, and given that she was [[spoiler: the first Kenpachi,]] it makes sense.

** Gin will do pretty much anything to accomplish his goal and that includes hitting girls, though usually he prefers to psychologically break them (as seen with Rukia and Hinamori), but when Hiyori tries to bum rush Aizen during the battle of Fake Karakura Town, Gin gleefully [[HalfTheManHeUsedToBe bisects her with his sword.]]
* In ''Anime/BNABrandNewAnimal'', Shirou Ogami will fight anyone who threatens the peace of Anima City, no matter if they happen to be male or female.

** Jun Ushiro has a habit of hitting his sister Kana, which greatly disturbs the other Zearth pilots, especially Maki (who believes that he's using their being related as license to treat Kana that way, [[spoiler:not knowing that they're not related]]). Kana's gender is less of an issue than her being younger than Jun, being his sister, and not doing anything to deserve it.
** In the manga, Kako has a dream in which he beats up some of his female classmates, as well as his older sister.
* Tsukasa Domyouji from ''Manga/BoysOverFlowers'' will hit a girl just like he'll hit anybody else, whether it's his {{Tsundere}} {{Love Interest|s}} for ticking him off [[BelligerentSexualTension or in the middle of a fight]], his equally tsundere older sister [[HilariouslyAbusiveChildhood for hitting him first]], or some {{Rich Bitch}}es [[KickTheSonOfABitch who have abused others]].
* In ''Manga/Brave10'', {{ninja}}s are professional killers , after all, and none of the characters hesitate in hitting female opponents (or even old women as [[TheDragon Hanzo]] did during his attack on Ueda), with the exception of Kakei.

Mixes with WhatTheHellHero because she went and told Tsubasa about Misugi's heart illness, and because of that he won't be playing at his best out of fear for him.

** In the 13th movie, Anime/DetectiveConanFilm13TheRavenChaser, Ran gets beaten up by [[spoiler: Irish]], even being slammed against the wall, after losing the upper hand in the fight to protect Conan. [[WouldHurtAChild And her opponent also beats the shit out of Conan himself.]]
** More than a few cases involves women of all ages either being murder victims or getting hurt, whether they are {{Asshole Victim}}s or not. * ''Anime/Danganronpa3TheEndOfHopesPeakHighSchool'' Despair Arc:
** Nekomaru Nidai fights Akane Owari when ordered by Chisa Yukizome in episode 1.
** In episode 6 [[spoiler:Izuru Kamakura knocked Junko Enoshima to the floor and stepped on her while he backhanded Mukuro Ikusaba which sent her flying and hitting a wall.]] Justified since he was defending himself from both their attacks, but as the universe’s closest thing to a PhysicalGod, he still used extreme overkill. He also stomped on [[spoiler:Enoshima]]'s head to knock her out after she [[spoiler:urged him to join up with her in turning the world into despair]]. It's implied he legitimately just finds them to be annoying, and that they may have just woken him up from his sleep.
** In the Future arc, the male members of the radical faction don't hesitate to attack Asahina and Kirigiri for being Naegi's allies.
* Hei of ''Anime/DarkerThanBlack'' is a call-out, whether she's in her demure human form or in her psychotic [[PhysicalGod Ashura form]].
* Light from ''Manga/DeathNote'' has no problem with killing women with the Death Note. However, when he gets glomped by Misa, he gets annoyed and feels compelled to hit her. Light also considered trying to knock Naomi Misora out to get a look at her real name, but immediately called it a bad idea to do that in public (also him not knowing that Misora is an ActionGirl).

** Trunks destroys all of the future androids without mercy, killing Future Android 18 with an energy blast point-blank. Due to Future Android 18 being a huge threat to not only his life, but to others, Trunks is portrayed in the right for this and this is also portrayed seriously.
** Super Buu couldn't care less about his opponent's gender; he turns Chi-Chi into an egg and brutally crushes her, and also threatens to kill Videl when she provokes him. He does eventually turn Videl, Bulma, Android 18, and Marron into ''chocolate'' and ''eats them alive.''
** Spopovich is not only very willing to fight Videl in a World Tournament, but he brutally beats her senseless. He would have killed her, but he is forced to simply knock her out of the ring in the end.
** Bojack from [[Anime/DragonBallZBojackUnbound Movie 9]] callously shoots a Ki blast though Zanyga [[BadBoss (his own female teammate)]] to try and get the jump on Gohan.
** Broly being TheBerserker is totally willing to clothesline Videl and throw her around in ''Dragon Ball Z: Broly – Second Coming''. Although compared to Spopovich, he was positively gentle with her.
** The antagonist of the movie ''[[Anime/DragonBallZBattleOfGods Battle of Gods]]'', Beerus, got slapped by Bulma. His response? Slap her back. ''Hard''. It's obvious he was holding back immensely; he would have turned her into a bloody paste otherwise.

** Bandou, who proves himself an asshole by immediately back-handing a random female secretary for approaching him from behind, calling her a "stupid bitch" afterwards. In fact, the only people that the man has hit in the series are girls. He even lampshades it at one point, telling a girl that he is assaulting that he really doesn't give a crap whether she's a little girl or not. Though in the manga, he gets to deliver a CurbStompBattle to a sadistic pedophile, rescuing Nana and Mayu. It's so hard to NOT like crazy old Bandou after he's done the BigDamnHeroes routine. That has to do with Mayu being Bandou's MoralityPet and the Unknown Man being pure evil. [[EvenEvilHasStandards He may hit girls and all, but he won't rape or torture them.]] [[KickTheSonOfABitch Hell yeah.]]
** Kouta also does his fair share of slapping around any girls he thinks are unruly. In example, when he has a fight with a Yuka in ClingyJealousGirl mode, he slaps her and then tells her that she's not being fair to him and others.

Gaou also encourages Kurita to sack a female quarterback with all his strength, which would probably cripple the girl (she's a 90lb aspiring artist drafted into the game, he's over 300lbs and second strongest lineman in Japan).
* ''Manga/FairyTail'' characters in general seem not to see sex or gender as an obstacle to beating the crap out of people. Granted, he tends to prefer shooting at or bombing them instead of engaging in fist fights with them, but this appears to purely be his tactical preference more than anything else (seeing how he's rather physically underwhelming, and has the tendency to [[CombatPragmatist rely more on firearms instead of muscle]]). In one instance, he showed no hesitance in tackling Kaname's female teacher down a flight of stairs. In another instance, he's shown to put a knife to the throat of an innocent old lady (though Kaname stopped him from doing anything).
* In ''Manga/FutureDiary'' Yukiteru Amano gives Yuno a well-deserved slap to her face once he frees himself from her captivity. He did it to not only save himself but also his friends from Yuno.

to:

** Alucard in particular is a prime example. He does not hesitate to shoot Seras when she says that she is a virgin. However, the most notable example of this is the brutal murder of Rip Van Winkle: Alucard impales her on her own gun, drinks her blood, and finally absorbs her into his body. He also punches her in the face beforehand. In the TV series, Alucard kills a rogue female vampire without batting an eye and shoots Baobhan Sith to dispel her.
** Jan Valentine intends on killing Integra when he and his brother storm the headquarters of the Hellsing Organization. He thinks nothing of it, and even claims that he may "skullfuck" Integra's corpse.
* ''Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers'':
** Austria is a milder example. During the time when he believed that [[WholesomeCrossdresser North Italy was a girl]], the narrator explains that Austria would step on Italy if he didn't listen to his instructions. OTOH, Austria doesn't even seem to ''think'' of beating up his maid and partner Hungary... [[ActionGirl most likely because he knows she's perfectly capable of beating him back]]. ** While Prussia did think for a long time that Hungary was a boy, after learning that she's a girl [[ChivalrousPervert he tells her to]] PleasePutSomeClothesOn... but he ''never'' says that he wouldn't fight her. In fact, they fight at least once in canon and this trope isn't even mentioned.
* Almost every male in ''Literature/HighSchoolDXD'' has no problem with hitting, slicing, stabbing, [[KickThemWhileTheyAreDown kicking them on the ground]], or punching the girls through a wall or window. The hero Issei is usually quite content to spend time gawking at his female opponents, and has a technique designed to [[ClothingDamage strip them]] (explicitly fueled by imagining them naked no less), but he won't hesitate to use his full strength against them when the chips are down.
* Done in the first chapter of ''Manga/HighSchoolOfTheDead'' by TheHero. To be fair, this was a GetAHoldOfYourselfMan moment.
* In the manga of ''VisualNovel/HigurashiWhenTheyCry'', one of the village chiefs hits [[spoiler:Rena]] when she hits him, after hitting Keiichi. Needless to say, everyone was being HotBlooded.

** Inuyasha himself fights female villains such as Kagura and Tsubaki just as seriously as he does any male foe. When he fought Princess Abi, he explicitly mentioned that he doesn't like fighting women, but Abi is such an evil bitch that he's making an exception with her.
** Naraku certainly doesn't discriminate against hurting and killing women. He himself was directly responsible for Kikyo's death.
** [[MonsterOfTheWeek Gatenmaru]] doesn't just hit girls, he [[VampiricDraining sucks their blood dry]] and leaves them [[BodyHorror shrunken husks]].
* Ayumu of ''Literature/IsThisAZombie'' will have no problem Chainsawing you to death if you mess with his friends.
* ''Literature/{{Katanagatari}}'': Shichika have no problem fighting seriously against women, especially at the beginning of the series before CharacterDevelopment kick-in. Part of it is due to having [[NoSocialSkills too little social skills]] to discriminate, the rest is because he [[FantasticFightingStyle was trained to]] consider himself as a Katana, and a Katana doesn't discuss who he have to cut.
* Genzo, the protagonist of ''Manga/KemonoMichi'' has absolutely zero problems with slamming down anyone, man or woman, who insults him by claiming he kills magical beasts. Though as a professional wrestler, he uses more grappling attacks instead of straight-up punching. It helps that series was written by the same person who wrote ''Literature/KonoSuba''.

her.

* Yuuta from ''Literature/LoveChunibyoAndOtherDelusions'' will give whoever he thinks deserves it a whack on the head, regardless of their gender. It should be noted though that while most of the people he hits are girls, when it's time for a guy (namely Isshiki) to get smacked around, Yuuta pulls out all the stops and just wails on him. Getting chopped or slapped on the head is nothing compared to being ''comboed''.
* In ''Franchise/LyricalNanoha'', every male character has no problem with fighting females. Justified, since it's a WorldOfActionGirls, any male who would't try it is an idiot.
* In ''Manga/MajinTanteiNougamiNeuro'', Neuro is just fine hitting Yako, breaking her neck, throwing her out the window, using her as a chair, and just generally making her life hell.
* In ''Manga/MariaHolic'', Mariya has stepped on Kanako a few times. Kanako initially [[TooKinkytoTorture enjoyed it]] until she remembered that Mariya is actually a boy.
* ''Anime/MazingerZ'': [[TheHero Kouji]] would definitely hit one girl if he was angry enough -- [[{{Tsundere}} and the girl usually hit back]]. [[TheDragon Baron Ashura]] also did, [[MindScrew although it can or can not count]] [[TwoFaced when he hit himself/herself/itself]]. If it counts, then [[MadScientist Dr.]] [[BigBad Hell]] also did.
** Then you have Tetsuya Tsurugi from the sequel, ''Anime/GreatMazinger''.
* ''Manga/MonthlyGirlsNozakiKun'': Hori often resorts to extreme violence when dealing with Kashima who greatly annoys him with her antics, like skipping drama class, being a bother to others around her, or harass him in multiple ways. It's always PlayedForLaughs and Kashima never gets seriously injured or greatly bothered by it. The one time Kashima doesn't deserve it is when a sleep-deprived Hori gets triggered by his "box trauma" and knocks the box underneath her feet without him realizing what he's doing (or to whom) and ''he's'' the one who falls unconscious. Despite the violence, the two of them get a lot of ShipTease moments and are the most popular ship amongst fans.
* Everyone in ''Manga/MotherKeeper'' is perfectly okay with hitting a girl, especially saying the strongest fighters for COSMOS and the Mother Keepers are both female.
* ''Manga/MyHeroAcademia'':
** This is an almost {{deconstructed|Trope}} in Bakugo's fight against Uraraka in the Sports Festival Arc [[note]]To be fair, he more [literally] blasts her point blank than attempting to landing a punch, since she reduces gravity to anyone she touches[[/note]]. A lot of the audience boos him for being so okay with showing no mercy to a girl who seems so sweet and weak when compared to him, and his fellow students even call him out for it. Eraser Head though, says that it was a sign of respect, and Bakugo even states, after defeating her, that there was [[WorthyOpponent nothing fragile about her]]. Bakugo also hits Setsuna Tokage of Class 1-B with a Stun Grenade move during the Joint Training arc.
** On a lesser level, [[DarkIsNotEvil Tokoyami]] and [[BigBad Shigaraki]] are also this. Tokoyami fights against Yaoyorozu in the Sports Festival and is a pretty one sided battle to his side, although the anime shows that he mainly aimed his attacks at Yaoyorozu's shield, resulting in her being pushed out of the arena but emerging from the match unharmed. Shigaraki, in his hatred for Dabi and Himiko, tried to kill both if not for Kurogiri interrupting.
** Overhaul kills [[spoiler:Magne, a male to female transgender person (although Overhaul callously misgenders her),]] by hitting her with his TouchOfDeath Quirk. He also horrifically abuses his daughter Eri, draining her blood and even destroying and reconstructing her.
** Some of the High-End Nomu encountered in [[spoiler:the raid on the Doctor's hospital and the secret lab hidden inside]] brutally fight against Mirko, the #5 Hero, going so far as to [[spoiler:rip her left arm off]].
* ''Literature/MushokuTenseiJoblessReincarnation'': When the CatGirl JapaneseDelinquents styled pair Linia and Pursena stomp Zanoba’s religious idol to pieces, this angers Rudeus since that was the idol he made himself (of his MentorArchetype Roxy that he and Zenoba worship), so Rudeus attacks the two delinquents and ties them up. After that incident is resolved with DefeatMeansFriendship, Rudeus sometimes gives Linia a DopeSlap for her annoying flirting.
* ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'':
** Naruto has no problem with this considering he challenges Tsunade to a fight [[spoiler:after she insults the Hokage, and mocks his dream of becoming the next one]]. Granted, he doesn't manage to defeat her, but in their rematch [[spoiler:he wins her over, and manages to get a kiss on the forehead from her, because she admits that his dream of becoming Hokage will eventually become reality]]. He also [[spoiler:sucker punches Kaguya in the face, rips her arm off, and beats the crap out of her with multiple Rasengans]].
** Sasuke is an admittedly pretty ugly example of this regards [[spoiler:to Sakura whose only [[LoveMakesYouStupid crime]] is being [[SmittenTeenageGirl smitten]] with him. Firstly he knocks her out when she tries to stop him leaving the village, then two and a half years later he tries to kill her with a Chidori; then when that fails he violently grabs her by the neck and tries slitting her throat with her own kunai (granted, Sakura was ''reluctantly'' trying to kill him in the latter two incidents). If that weren't enough, during the final chapters he pulls another HeelFaceTurn and knocks Sakura out ''again'' with genjutsu]].
** [[spoiler:Tobi]] also counts considering his fight with [[spoiler:Konan, when he actually kills her at the end of it by stabbing her from behind]].
** Then there's Neji, who almost kills Hinata during their fight after, with some help from Naruto, she shakes off his [[BreakThemByTalking verbal warfare]] and fights him back. Oh, and when Neji is about to give Hinata the killing blow, [[MamaBear Kurenai]], [[PapaWolf Kakashi, Might Guy and Hayate]] step in and physically stop Neji. The Jonin before that point did not make any attempt to intervene in the matches, but brutalizing poor Hinata was simply too far for them (though that could be more due to the fact that she was already obviously defeated when he tried killing her, and every fight before this the winner stopped fighting as soon as their opponent was down for the count).
** It's quicker to point out that Shikamaru is the ''only'' character in the entire series with reservations about fighting women, and he ''does it anyway''. (Though he sometimes uses his shadow powers to have the girls hit themselves, like he does to Kin Tsuchi.)
** Of course, it [[JustifiedTrope makes sense]] that this trope applies to almost every ''Naruto'' character. There are plenty of female ninja in the Narutoverse, so anybody that really WouldntHitAGirl would probably get themselves killed (or fired) fairly quickly. Hell, the [[spoiler: FinalBoss of the entire series, Kaguya, is a woman, so there's no real way around this trope, especially when the world is at stake.]]
* ''Manga/NegimaMagisterNegiMagi'':
** Most of the characters don't have a problem hitting women. Yes, most of the heroes ''are'' [[AmazonBrigade women]], but their enemies are happy to fight back, and the main (male) character doesn't flinch at beating up female villains.The one [[WouldntHitAGirl exception]] is Koutaro, who is a bit of a TechnicalPacifist when it comes to women (he'll knock a female opponent out of the ring with ''the air pressure from his punch'', but he won't actually hit her), but everyone else treats him like an idiot for making such a stupid lifestyle choice.
** [[ChivalrousPervert Jack Rakan]] is a weird example. He'd rather [[PantyThief steal the girls's panties]] and force them to claim DefeatByModesty by flipping their skirts until they do, but if said girls ''keep'' challenging him, he ''will'' [[CurbStompBattle fight and defeat them]]. (Off-screen, though.)
** In Chapter 317, Fate Averruncus is shown slapping a bound Nodoka (because she made him regret he didn't [[BoundAndGagged gag her as well]]).
* In ''Literature/NyarukoCrawlingWithLove'', Mahiro Yasaka often hits Nyarko and sometimes Cuuko with mostly his forks although he has used other methods like his fists or throwing objects. Treated as [[PlayedForLaughs humor]] since Haiyore! Nyarko-san is a comedy.
* ''Anime/OceanWaves:'' Rikako slaps Taku, who reacts by instinct and slaps her back. At this point we hear loud gasps and see that many of their peers are watching from the doors of nearby classrooms; he never gets called out for it, though, likely because most of the onlookers don't like Rikako either. {{Averted}} in a later conversation, though, where Rikako slaps him again and gets a standard "stunned silence" reaction.
* ''Manga/OnePiece'':
** Monkey D. Luffy has a notable track record of this. As early as Chapter 2, he's attacking female pirate "Iron Mace" Alvida. In Whiskey Peak, he and Zoro give Miss Valentine and Mr. 5 an almost OffhandBackhand, and Luffy's the one who hits Valentine. In Alabasta, Luffy hits Vivi after Vivi gets angry at him for saying she's naive. In Amazon Lily, Luffy has to fight the Boa sisters, Sandersonia and Marigold and does so without holding back. He is also fully prepared to fight Hancock. [[spoiler:He also fights Big Mom in Whole Cake though the "[[CurbStompBattle fight]]" ends entirely in her favor]]. In Wano, Luffy also has a fight with Ulti and he almost resorts to Gear 4th when she has him in her grasp.
** Most members of the Straw Hat crew don't seem to have any problem with female opponents. Usopp in particular has fought against several female opponents, however it should be noted he subverts trope by the fact that he's actually never physically hurt a woman in the canon, defeating them with CombatPragmatism. Zoro spent a large part of his childhood (unsuccessfully) trying to beat a girl, and even berated her for thinking that being a female made her any less capable a fighter. The only other member of the crew with reservations about fighting women is ChivalrousPervert Sanji. [[spoiler: When Sanji in Wano after awakening his {{Transhuman}} powers thought he had by all accounts attacked an innocent courtesan O-Some, he went as far as calling Zoro and asking the swordsman to kill him if he was still NotHimself by the end of arc. Turned out Sanji hadn’t hurt O-Some though, but his opponent Queen while invisible.]]
** Koza, a well-intentioned if misguided character, got into a fistfight with Vivi on two occasions when they were children; the first time was when she provoked him by calling him a "crybaby," and the second was a friendly battle for leadership of the Sand-Sand Band. The first time, Igaram was furious to hear about someone attacking Vivi, and Toto offered his life as penance for his son' actions before [[ReasonableAuthorityFigure Cobra]] calmed both men down, but Vivi's gender was less of an issue than her status as a princess.
** Inuppe, the zombie from Thriller Bark who holds [[EnemyWithout Sanji’s shadow]], shows how dangerous Sanji would be if he were to ever forgo his ethics. As at one point Inuppe takes down Robin with a single kick to the horror of Chopper, who had been counting on Sanji’s inverse of this trope to beat his shadow. It's pretty ironic as Inuppe had invoked WouldntHitAGirl when protecting Nami earlier. The reason for this is shadows tend to forget their personality's quirks after being separated from their owners for long enough.
** A particularly unpleasant example would be Spandam, who not only hits [[BrokenBird Robin]], he ''[[MoralEventHorizon beats the living hell out of her]]'', [[DirtyCoward first making sure that she is completely helpless to fight back, of course]].
** Enel is an nonchalant example, he almost vaporizes Conis with a [[ShockAndAwe lightning]] sky beam and later fries the hell out of Laki (much to Wiper's fury). Enel will also hurt women completely out of nowhere and without provocation as when he realizes Robin is trying to fool him; Enel doesn't waste a second suddenly zapping her down with lightning. Zoro is the one who calls him out on it, but Enel is completely untroubled, just saying that as "[[GodGuise God]]" he is above such petty moral principles. Enel also tries to electrify Nami, but she uses her WeatherManipulation to protect herself.
** Enel's minion [[TheBrute Yama]] also has no qualms beating up Robin, though she manages to defeat him.
** Absalom is another ugly example as he is very rough towards Nami whom he [[AndNowYouMustMarryMe desires]], shoving her against a wall when she's naked and then puts her in a headlock later. Absalom also has no qualms nearly blowing Nami apart with his invisible arm cannons, which particularly [[ExtremeMeleeRevenge enrages]] Sanji (as does everything else Absalom [[IHaveYouNowMyPretty does]] in regards to her). Absalom also hits Lola when she interrupts Absalom’s second attempt to marry Nami, which angers Nami herself and makes her [[TiredofRunning stand her ground]] against the InvisibleJerkAss.
** This is even used against a female opponent, Monet, during the Punk Hazard arc, whom Zoro has to fight. She thinks him not going all out against her means he isn't willing to fight a female. When Tashigi, a swordswoman who oddly looks like the above mentioned childhood friend, berates him for this, he steps aside and allows Tashigi to fight her to show that she isn't an easy opponent. Once his point had been made, he re-enters the fray by nicking Monet on the cheek and revealing to the both of that that yes, while he doesn't ''like'' to fight females, it doesn't mean he ''won't'', then proceeds to unleash his killing intent and split Monet down the middle. Granted, he doesn't kill her (he doesn't use Haki, so her snow powers aren't negated) but he shows that when he's serious and if Tashigi hadn't shown up, ''he would have''. Monet, who had tried her hardest not to underestimate the Straw Hats, has a serious OhCrap moment when she realizes her initial diagnosis of Zoro was wrong.
*** Played with as Zoro doesn’t actually cut his other {{Filler}} female opponents just knocking them out instead.
** Another unpleasant example is Niji, [[spoiler:Sanji's brother,]] who didn't like the food female cook Cosette had provided him and proceeded to throw a plate at her face at high speed when Sanji intervened. Later on, Sanji finds Cosette beaten bloody and unconscious by Niji, all to get back at the latter for daring to oppose him.
*** It's worth noting this scene was so violent and screwed up, that anime ''actually censored'' the amount of damage Cosette received from Niji compared to the manga.
** Jimbei has no problem delivering a MegatonPunch at Big Mom's stomach, and note, he did not hold back at all.
** Urashima, the FatBastard sumo of Wano shows he's NotGoodWithRejection as when Kiku avoids his embrace and [[BerserkButton cuts his topknot]], he furiously tries to kill her before Luffy steps in. [[spoiler: Kiku is later revealed to be biologically male but it's not like Urashima knew that at the time.]]
** Kaido is shown to have no qualms nearly killing a centaur woman [[WouldHurtAChild or the little girl riding the woman's back]]. His EliteMooks follow suit with King throwing Kunochi Shinobu around, Queen attacking courtesans for refusing his summons as well as trying to kill Nami and Tama and Jack who poisoned hundreds of Mink Women.
** [[{{Yakuza}} Kyoshiro]] [[spoiler:in contrast to a swordsman like Zoro shows how much he doesn't screw around when it comes to this trope as he cuts down Komurasaki with his katana mercilessly when she defies [[TheCaligula the Shogun Orochi]]. Everyone who witnessed it is horrified, ''[[EvenEvilHasStandards including the Shogun]]'', who seconds before was about to kill a little girl. It's subverted later, though, when it's revealed that he didn't actually kill her, and only pretended to in order to protect her]].
* Brock in ''Anime/PokemonTheSeries'' actually hits Misty twice, and comically in the episode "Bulbasaur and the Hidden Village" when she's teasing him about having a crush on Melanie. She gets him back in the next episode, kicking him in the face after a fake bug scare.
* The world of ''Manga/PokemonAdventures''' has no gender issues as evil guys have no problem attacking heroic women and good guys have no problem attacking evil women. It helps that it's (usually) the Pokemon themselves that are doing the attacking, but it's worth noting that the girls take just as much damage as the guys.
* [[spoiler:Nako's manipulative uncle]] in ''Manga/PoorPoorLips'', who strikes Ren in the face when she stands up for Nako, with the entire sequence framed like a scene of domestic abuse.
* In ''Manga/ThePrinceOfTennis'', when An stands up for Sakuno against a JerkJock, said JerkJock either slaps her to the floor (manga) or first pushes her to the ground and then grabs her by the collar. [[WifeBasherBasher Momoshiro is not pleased.]]
** ''Almost'' played straight by Ryoma in the anime. At some point during the Jyousei arc, Ryoma is practisting his shots on his own; he then hears noises and sees that a local AlphaBitch and her GirlPosse have not only pushed Ryoma's friend Sakuno to the ground, but are now threatening to do the same to Sakuno's best friend Tomoka. He then stops his practice and throws a tennis ball ''right at the AlphaBitch'' so the group will stop harrassing the girls -- had said AlphaBitch not been fast enough to dodge, she '''would''' have been hit point blank.
** In the flashbacks that tell us [[SlapSlapKiss how Ryoma's]] [[LoveAtFirstPunch parents met]], his soon-to-be mom Rinko gets hit by her SadistTeacher of a coach with tennis balls for trying to protect [[WouldHurtAChild a kid]]. [[KickTheDog SEVERAL times]], may we add. [[GenerationXerox Nanjirou was not amused when he found out, either.]] [[spoiler: It becomes a plot point in the anime, as said coach's son would become one of Ryoma's {{Unknown Rival}}s.]]
* For Shu's arc in ''Manga/PrincessJellyfish'', he finally stands up to Inori after she keeps using blackmail against him. She then makes it look like she was SpurnedIntoSuicide, which made him increasingly more worried. He very understandably gets upset with her when she reveals it was a morbid "joke".
* While Tooru from ''Manga/PrincessPrincess'' is a NiceGuy for the most part, he makes it clear that he has his limits. In the finale, his {{Yandere}} cousin threatens to kill herself if he won't be with her. In response, he slaps her and yells at her for even considering such an option.

* Yuuta In ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing'', Dorothy Catalonia tries to {{Invoke|dTrope}} WouldntHitAGirl against Heero Yuy during a fencing match. He quickly proves her wrong with a thrust that snaps his foil like a twig and embeds it in Dorothy's mask about an inch away from ''Literature/LoveChunibyoAndOtherDelusions'' will give whoever he thinks deserves it a whack on the head, regardless of their gender.
* In ''Manga/MajinTanteiNougamiNeuro'', Neuro is just fine hitting Yako, breaking
her neck, throwing her out the window, using her as a chair, and just generally making her life hell.
face.
* ''Manga/MyHeroAcademia'':
**
''Manga/MyHeroAcademia'': This is an almost {{deconstructed|Trope}} in Bakugo's fight against Uraraka in the Sports Festival Arc [[note]]To be fair, he more [literally] blasts her point blank than attempting to landing a punch, since she reduces gravity to anyone she touches[[/note]].
* ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'':
* ''Manga/NegimaMagisterNegiMagi'':
* ''Manga/OnePiece'':
**
''Manga/OnePiece'': This is even used against a female opponent, Monet, during the Punk Hazard arc, whom Zoro has to fight.
He very understandably gets upset with her when she reveals it was a morbid "joke".

wrong.

* In the third ''Anime/RebuildOfEvangelion'' movie, [[PoorCommunicationKills a situation arises]] where [[spoiler: Shinji]] (male) and [[spoiler: Asuka]] (female) are forced to fight each other, [[RightHandVersusLeftHand both thinking that the fate of the world depends on their victory]]. After he's defeated her and her mecha running out of power prevents her from pursuing him further, she exclaims "You're the worst, you'd actually raise your hand against a girl!" Given that he was willing to talk and explain what he was doing and really agonized over having to hurt a former comrade, begging her to stop, and that she's the one who a) has actual combat experience and b) charged him from behind with a polearm without bothering to hear him out. One might wonder wether being male gave him any sort of advantage at all, especially since they were fighting with mechas, not their physical bodies.
* ''Literature/RebuildWorld'': The protagonist Akira is an UnscrupulousHero who spent his childhood in a TraumaCongaLine suffering from ConMan and HoneyTrap scenerios as a StreetUrchin, and so he has no compunctions about this. At one point he’s engaged in battle against a mostly AmazonBrigade namely [[spoiler:TheRival Katsuya and his BattleHarem.]] Akira uses expensive rounds to turn a team of the girls in to LudicrousGibs, and a sword to turn another group into HalfTheWomanSheUsedToBe. After some of these girls pass out, he nearly slits their unconscious throats too, but gets interrupted.
* ''Anime/RuneSoldierLouie'' invokes this where [[AmazonianBeauty Genie]] is concerned:
** In episode 12, her patience with Louie [[RageBreakingPoint reaches its breaking point]] when he comes back for her, after she had told him [[GoOnWithoutMe to go with the others]]. Which she took personally because it reminded her of the time when [[spoiler: her former comrade, Hector, sacrificed himself by staying behind, when it should've been her]]. She assumed it was because she was a woman and accuses Louie of thinking the same thing. Louie gets up and hits back. At that point, the gloves come off and they duke it out (seen [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eh5Ex0SOf0E at 13:23-16:57, here]]).
** The manga doesn't wait that long. Louie slugs her in the very first chapter and [[OneHitKill knocks her out cold]], after she takes a swing at him, and hits her again while they're sparring in the following chapter.

** Ikki does not care for his adversary's gender, and he is perfectly willing hitting his enemy is that person is a woman. It doesn't mean he's happy when ''someone else'' hits a girl in his vicinity, and specially if they're bystanders: he was ''pissed'' when [[spoiler: Esmeralda was fatally struck down by Guilty]], and later in the anime {{filler}} when [[spoiler: little Helen, a 12-year-old girl, was ''tossed alive into a volcano'' by Agora and Shiva.]]
** Both Shaina and Marin ([[FauxActionGirl specially Marin]]) get beaten up more or less frequently by villains and {{anti villain}}s . In fact, [[CreepyTwins Hypnos and Thanatos's]] biggest KickTheDog act ever was [[spoiler: attacking Serika, Seiya's WaifProphet older sister, just to spite him. Thank God Jabu stepped in her defense.]]
* In ''Manga/{{Sazanka}}'', Keita, [[DomesticAbuser the boyfriend]] of the main character, Tatsuki, shoves her to the ground [[DisproportionateRetribution for taking a phone call while talking to him]]. After Tatsuki has a breakdown, Keita slaps her in the face, pulls her hair and kicks her in the chest.
* In one episode of ''Anime/ScienceNinjaTeamGatchaman'', Ken punches a young girl in the stomach. He slaps her later in the same episode. In Episode 40, he slaps Jun, the only female member of the superhero team.
* Being a WorldOfActionGirls, the few male battle aliens in ''Manga/{{Sekirei}}'' have absolutely no issue with fighting women seriously. On the other hand, two different {{Jerkass}}es are also shown to consider hitting women for [[DomesticAbuse annoying]] them to be perfectly acceptable. Both get what's coming to them courtesy of Yukari and Shiina.
* In elementary school, Shouya from ''Manga/ASilentVoice'' got into a bloody fist-fight with Shouko. He was an immature bully back then, but come high school and he tries to [[TheAtoner befriend her]].
* [[spoiler:Umino]] from ''Manga/SatouKashiNoDanganWaUchinukenai'' gets [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown completely beaten up]] by a boy [[spoiler:who likes her]] after she [[spoiler:kills the schools rabbits and accuses him of doing so]]. She doesn't fight back and he's [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone horrified afterwards]] by what he did. He gets suspended from school and [[spoiler:thrown off the baseball team]] afterwards.
* In ''Manga/SlamDunk'', during the Mitsui arc, one of the members of Mitsui's gang hits Ayako, knocking her to the floor. Miyagi immediately goes apeshit and proceeds to punch the living lights out of the guy.
* ''Literature/{{Slayers}}'': [[JerkassWoobie Zelgadis]] more or less believes in this, more so before his HeelFaceTurn in Season 1; he fights Lina for the [[MacGuffin Orihalcon Statue]] with little remorse. He even {{Dope Slap}}s [[{{Moe}} Amelia]] for acting out once. Contrast [[IdiotHero Gourry,]] who isn't keen on sword-fighting a woman in Season 4.
* Blackā˜†Star from ''Manga/SoulEater'' appears to be this, since he had no problem with punching Maka ''in the face'' when she told him to HitMeDammit.
* Okabe Rintaro of ''VisualNovel/SteinsGate'' punches an emotionally disturbed Moeka right in the face in episode 19.

]]

* ''Manga/TenjhoTenge''. In the infamous 'Nothing But Fist' scene, Muscle Bound ''AloofOlderBrother'' Mitsuomi punches the Evil Bitch Priestess Inoue so hard in the mouth that [[TeethFlying teeth spray everywhere]].
* The titular ''Manga/TerraforMARS'' are OmnicidalManiac aliens who'll kill any humans they spot with extreme prejudice. In particular, if the roaches have no immediate threats in a battle, they'll specifically capture and rip apart any defenseless human female close by for no apparent reason. The "Earthformar" invaders also hold women captive and force them to bear human-roach hybrids before executing them in microwaving chambers.

* ''Manga/UzakiChanWantsToHangOut'': Shinichi has no problem physically retaliating on Hana when she goes too far with her antics, though he never actually goes too far. One instance was when he smacked her on the head when she tried to hypnotize him to get him to buy her a new VR game.

* ''Franchise/YuGiOh'':
** In general, female duelists are ''always'' fair game for direct attacks, even by someone like Judai who states he WouldntHitAGirl; exactly how much different hitting someone that way is from punching him depends on the situation and the interpretation. (It's clearly real in a Dark Duel, but whether the regular duels are HardLight or simply work like some convincing rumble pack is debatable.)
** In ''Anime/YuGiOhGX'', the Gravekeeper's Chief strikes Assailant after she holds back in her attack against Judai; he seriously calls him out on this, and he replies with the equivalent of "mind your own business". (This was cut from the dub.)
** Manjyome was called out a little at the end of Season 1 for being rough with Rei, but she was a girl ''and'' a kid. [[BewareTheQuietOnes Then Rei started fighting back...]]
** In ''Anime/YuGiOh5Ds'', the first clue to Rex Godwin's true nature was in the fourth episode; when Mikage told him Jack and Yusei were dueling, he got angry and started to strangle her. He calmed down and let go after she squeaked out a frightened apology. (Again, this was cut from the dub.)
** Jack Atlas punched Barbara after she tried to hold two children hostage and threatened to kill them. He commented that anyone who would try something like that does not deserve chivalry.
* ''Manga/YuYuHakusho'':
** There is an instance in the anime where Yusuke reveals he holds this attitude, in contrast to [[WouldntHitAGirl Kuwabara]], asking what gender has to do with fighting somebody who wants to fight and declaring there to be no purpose in treating an opponent differently because of their sex. The edited dub plays this straight, while the original Japanese/unedited dub implicitly averts it by revealing that the demon Miyuki, the cause of this, is actually a CreepyCrossdresser transsexual, though Yusuke's precise dialogue could be taken as him telling Kuwabara the truth about Miyuki's gender only to keep him from starting a pointless brawl due to being so outraged over how.
** There's also the time that Keiko was suffering a HeroicBSOD and Yusuke's solution to bringing her back to her senses was [[CrossesTheLineTwice slapping her in the face repeatedly]].
** There's even been a couple of times where he smacked Botan, once when she nearly blabbed everything about him being a Spirit Detective, and again much later after being mocked too much about his "Spirit Beast" Puu.
*** In this case, for every time he's hit Botan, there's three or four times Botan has hit him. The receiver has usually done something to deserve it.

* ''Franchise/YuGiOh'':

** In ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEED'' [[TheHero Kira Yamato]] slugs [[RebelliousPrincess Cagalli]] after she gets a bunch of her friends killed, and then tries to belt him when he calls her out on it. Muruta Azrael has no problems with slapping a girl ([[spoiler:Flay]]) for not obeying his orders. Or shooting her a half-dozen times in the gut ([[spoiler:Natarle]]). Neither does [[OmnicidalManiac Rau Le Creuset]], who [[spoiler: ''kills'' Flay as well as others]].

* Touma of ''LightNovel/ACertainMagicalIndex'' has no problem hitting women '''at all''' if their motivations involve the harming and murdering of decent human beings, and decks one female enemy (who was about to start a full scale war between Espers and Magicians that would result in the death of innocent millions) ''in the face'' at least twice in the same arc, knocking her out. In fact, almost nobody in the series has a problem with using extreme physical force against a female enemy, and to be fair the women in this series tend to be [[WorldOfBadass genuinely competent fighters]] that it would be downright '''stupid''' to hold back against. [[http://i.imgur.com/BbswH.jpg More than a few anime fans see this as a breath of fresh air.]]

* Sagara Sousuke from ''Lightnovel/FullMetalPanic''. Being a HeroicComedicSociopath CrazySurvivalist, he displays no reservations towards violence against women.
