** "Tandy Computer Wiz Kids: Fit To Win #1": Linksano is leaving, not because of a previously teased Mechakara, but because multiverse conqueror Lord Vyce is coming, and after playing him up reveals that he's headed this way. Then Linkara disappears in a flash of light and isn't heared from for AN ENTIRE MONTH.

* WebVideo/TheSpoonyExperiment ([=AT4W=]'s sister series of sorts): Let's Play Final Fantasy X part 3. Black Lantern Spoony is intent on taking the show back and is bringing back the one person that can help him do just that, or to put it more accurately: TIDUS OF ZANARKAND, RISE!.
** Also, the finale of his Ultima retrospective. It started off light and cheery, but as the series became more and more unloyal to his childhood fandom, (the series that introduced him to [=RPG=]s and videogames in general) The end of the Ultima IX review betrayed his childhood to the point where he tosses the box into a wall offscreen, went on a long open rant about how the series had fallen, and he looked and sounded like he had literally been broken.
** During the finale of his review for VideoGame/FinalFantasyXIII, he knows full well someone from the game is gonna fight him. It ends up being Snow, who proceeds to beat Spoony bloody before Spoony can get the upper hand on him and rip his throat out. No wisecracks or remarks were made after the fight.
* The WebVideo/TheNostalgiaChick has [[Series/StarTrekTheOriginalSeries Kirk]] VS [[Series/StarTrekTheNextGeneration Picard]], which includes a legitimately unexpected twist: they actually had the [[strike:balls]] ovaries to kill off [[EnsembleDarkhorse BFF Nella]]! The realization of just how pathetic his life has been hits him like a ton of bricks and sends him into depression. ** Another episode plays it for laughs when, after Angry Joe shows up and reveals that the next review will be of ''Film/ManOfSteel'', the Critic lampshades that now they don't have a cliffhanger, only for Mr. Zebub to run in:

[[spoiler:The gate of lost gates leads to The White Void, revealing that it is in the same universe as The Last Scene, it's revealed that Dutch was KilledOffForReal by The Phantom, Daniels was Ferris' [[LukeIAmYourFather brother]], Ferris meets Valavingee, and [[CloudCuckooLander Bob]] was revealed to be [[BigBad The Phantom]] in disguise, as he takes the medicines from Ferris.]] Talk about CerebusSyndrome.
* WebVideo/AgentsOfCracked's aptly titled ''[[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin The Plot Twistingest Finale in the History of Final Episodes.]]'' Ready? Okay. *deep breath* Spoilers abound: Michael is the Chief's son. Cracked was created entirely to keep Michael busy and hidden, because if the other Chiefs found out there was a "retarded demi-god" running around, they would kill him. T-Bone was a security robot, but he turned on the Chief and leaked Michael's existence to the others. Broked is staffed entirely by doubles of the Cracked team (the Chief invented cloning), including B-Tone, who has been reprogrammed to kill Dan and Michael. There's a secret code on Cracked.com that reveals the secrets of the universe to anyone who reads every single word on the site [[ProductPlacement and buys certain items of Cracked merchandise.]] Michael has been subconsciously weaving the code into all of his articles. [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking Also,]] as of the [[LastMinuteHookUp last thirty seconds,]] he and Dan are a couple.

* ''Part 8'' of TGWTG's WebVideo/ToBoldlyFlee is a big one, with many Wham filled moments, but two stand above all the others in it. When the Nostalgia Critic enters the Plot Hole and [[spoiler: finds out that he's just a character, talking to '''Doug Walker''' himself]]. And [[spoiler: Critic's final fate, to becoming one with the Plot Hole to save his friends and the world.]]

** This is reason the "cover different periods of time" rule gets broken for Season 3, the first half of the third novel and comics seven and following.
** [[spoiler:Omega Zell's transfer from Noob to Justice, Gaea's Face Heel turn and Arthéon reaching his Rage Breaking Point]] were all shown onscreen in Season 4 of the webseries while the fourth novel starts about a week after the last of these happens and repearing the damage is already underway.
** The novels all take place around one of these for the NonPlayerCharacter part of the story. All three of these status quo stop holding over the course of the fourth novel.

* WebAnimation/TokyoMagicStar: Episode 5. [[spoiler:The villains come from Hell itself, and the girls aren't just warriors, but blood sacrifices as well.]]

** Episode 37 has Two-Faced [[spoiler:unexpectedly accepting Donkey Kong's LoveConfession, despite having a long and steady relationship with Walrus (who Vinny [[SitcomArchNemesis loathed]] for that very reason). The ensuing montage showing them gradually growing apart gets to Vinny, and he silently [[TrademarkFavoriteFood gives Walrus a sausage to cheer him up]], then gives him a new apartment (his old one being a ''jail cell''). This was the turning point in the fans' characterizations of Two-Faced as a BitchInSheepsClothing (though her name was already a clue).]]
** Episode 47 has [[spoiler:[=HOTDOG=]]] [[TheBusCameBack returning off-camera after being deleted]] (replacing the unexpectedly-deleted [[spoiler:Skeleorita]], who was jokingly proclaimed as RetGone), with absolutely no comment from Vinny about this. Then [[spoiler:the newly-appointed Captain Jahn, upon being complimented for his photographic skills, comments [[{{Foreshadowing}} "I could rule the world with this kind of talent!"]] Naturally, Vinny assumes that they now aim to TakeOverTheWorld.]]
*** The off-camera changes take a much darker turn in the next episode[[labelnote:*]]which, mind, was on AprilFoolsDay[[/labelnote]], where [[spoiler:the Jahns begin their invasion by [[KillAndReplace mysteriously deleting three islanders and replacing them with their own kind.]] However, the fact that [[VideoGame/AnimalCrossing Lolly]] (the only girl removed) was replaced by a ''female'' Jehn implies that ''[[AssimilationPlot they're being transformed into Jahns.]]'']] Not only that, but [[spoiler:''[[TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou Vinny himself]]'' seems to be affected by their mind control]]!
*** Episode 49 continues this, with [[spoiler:at least nine more islanders being assimilated, and one of those (Wii Fit Trainer) being deleted by Vinny is a fit of mind-control-induced rage onscreen. Also, Vinny does many more odd things while under mind control, including changing the island name's pronunciation to "Jahnland Island", making cryptic comments, and ''nearly deleting his save file''. Don't worry, everything's resolved in-between 49 and 50, for the most part.]]
* By the time ''Literature/TheJenkinsverse'' reaches its fifteenth chapter, a main character has already been brutally killed and another shot in the lower back. Also, Vax [[spoiler: nearly dies, and reveals with his last thoughts that he may have feelings for Keyleth.]]

** Episode 27, The Path to Whitestone: Seeker Assum [[spoiler: reveals that sovereign Uriel has been charmed by the Briarwoods.]] Percy agrees to go with the group to Whitestone - but [[spoiler: might be doing so at the behest of the smoky entity from his dreams.]]

* ''WebVideo/DontHugMeImScared'':
** The fourth episode mostly goes like a normal episode, until the GainaxEnding in which [[spoiler:Red Guy crosses over the fourth wall and his head explodes.]] Unlike previous instalments, there's no implication that the weirdness was all in the puppets' heads.
** The fifth episode tops it. Yellow Guy and Duck Guy have grown more aware of their surroundings, the Teachers aren't even ''trying'' to hide their creepiness this time, Duck Guy [[spoiler:finally cracks and desperately tries to escape only to be killed and eaten alive]], leaving Yellow Guy as the only one left, and to top it all off it's implied at the credits that the mysterious phone calls being sent throughout the episode were sent by [[spoiler:Red Guy, who is still alive and now outside of their reality.]]
* Creator/SamAndMickey ended 2016 with "Stranded". Ken and Yasmin reveal that they had an OffscreenBreakup, then Barbie and Ken ''finally'' become an OfficialCouple again.
* ''Literature/TheNewHumans'' with chapters 21 and 22 [[spoiler: the idyllic SuperheroSchool is actually a cult, where supers are bred from the moment they're physically able to do so.]]

* ''WebVideo/{{Dad}}'': [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VssqNaBnWoM "Dad Elucidated - Act II Finale"]] dropped a lot of bombs at a rapid pace. Andan wakes up and remembers everything. He goes rogue and leaves the facility. We discover that Neighbor has a name, Malvin, and is Cheryl's true partner outside of the facility. Ella and Emily are both officially introduced. To top it off, the name of the channel was changed from "Dad" to "Andan".

** Episode 37 has Two-Faced [[spoiler:unexpectedly accepting Donkey Kong's LoveConfession, despite [[YourCheatingHeart having a long and steady relationship with Walrus]] (who Vinny [[SitcomArchNemesis loathed]] for that very reason). The ensuing montage showing them gradually growing apart gets to Vinny, and he silently [[TrademarkFavoriteFood gives Walrus a sausage to cheer him up]], then gives him a new apartment (his old one being a ''jail cell''). This was the turning point in the fans' characterizations of Two-Faced as a BitchInSheepsClothing (though her name was already a clue).]]
