** An example that overlaps with AccidentalTruth in "The Passion of Reverend Ruckus". In order to prevent the execution of Shabazz K. Huey thinks that he made it up, but when the letter arrives to the Governor's office, it turns out he really does have a gay lover, and so the Governor calls off Shabazz' execution.

* StopBeingStereotypical: Both this series and the comic strip make regular use of this. A regular [[AnAesop aesop]] and CentralTheme of ''The Boondocks'' is how African-Americans are unjustly oppressed, right to be angry at systemic racism, and need to bring attention to such things as much as possible. At the same time, the comic and the show both criticize African-Americans who play into stereotypes, saying that they're only making things harder for everybody. The latter criticism is best seen in "The Return of the King" where Martin Luther King Jr. goes on a rant decrying the fact that the freedoms he fought so hard for are being taken for granted, even wasted, by the people on whose behalf he fought.

** The Japanese dub of the episode "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-IGmtChxoE The S-Word]]" suffers on this, since due to restrictions on using the Japanese equivalent of "nigger" [[TooLongDidntDub forced the translators to keep the English slurs untranslated]]. The problem is, at least in this episode, the dub voice actor voicing Mr. Petto struggled on pronouncing both "nigger" and "niggah", since in Japanese, ''both words are pronounced the same'', in this case as the latter word. In the Japanese dub, however, Mr. Petto pronounced "nigger" as "niggu-ah" in order to keep the nuance of the word compared with "niggah". To make the things even more complicated, and adding another layer of unintended hilarity, when Mr. Petto explains to the school authorities what had he heard from his black students, it's more than obvious the Japanese translators simply gave up on trying to adapt the dialog to something the Japanese audience can understand in context and they either simply translated the words literally or keep some words, like "bitch niggah" untranslated from English, and just bleeping one part when Mr. Petto says "bullshittin'", since it was translated to its Japanese equivalent instead.
