* AlphaBitch: The manwha might as well be called Alpha Bitch: The Magical Girl Version. We get traditional versions like Hailey and Jina [[spoiler:and later Terrie]] and an AcademicAlphaBitch in Sue.

Which is where the world's image of Magical Girls is harshly subverted, in that at school, they're [[AlphaBitch alpha bitches]] to the extreme.

A pair of sisters, Julie and Callie, discover this the hard way, by each becoming the MG's designated targets. While the stress on their lives is hard, the two of them manage to get by... until Julie is murdered, and Callie having immense reasons to suspect the Magical Girls. On that day, she declares war against the Magical Girls of Peace City. Her mission: discover the truth behind Julie's murder - and killing the Magical Girls along the way.

* CostumeEvolution: Whenever a magical girl "Awakens", she gains a spiffy, new outfit.

* AMindIsATerribleThingToRead: Mint, also known as Mind Heart, has the ability to read minds. This sounds great in concept but knowing what people really think of her is slowly driving her insane.

* ProudBeauty: Hailey is proud of her looks. She is widely regarded as the most beautiful person in Peace City and she uses this to her advantage...
* RealityEnsues: Putting the power of deciding who becomes a magical girl in the hands of [[spoiler:a young child who has a similarly childish sense of justice and responsibility goes about as well as you expect it would.]]

* RichBitch: Sue comes from a wealthy family.

* SchoolIdol: Hailey is by far the most popular girl in school. However, thanks to Callie's manipulation of Kayla, Hailey gradually loses some support since Kayla's beauty has more innocence to it than Hailey's own haughty attitude.

* SuicideByCop: [[spoiler: Callie allows herself to be killed by the magical girls of other cities after she finally kills Terrie.]]
* TeenIdol: Hailey is treated by the media as an idol and is constantly modeling for photo shoots and promoting the latest products. She is only a senior in high school and she has already made more money than most people in their whole lives.

* WeightWoe: Hailey was originally very overweight and spent a fortune on extensive plastic surgery to make herself thin and beautiful. The idea of anyone finding out absolutely terrifies her, and Callie uses this to torment her. It doesn't help that she received her powers as the magical girl of beauty when she was still fat, as she thought it made her a joke.

* AdultsAreUseless: Granted, most of the characters never even attempt to tell an adult authority figure what's going on, but the ones who do appear aren't very helpful to anyone. Sarah lampshades it when some bystanders suggest that she make a police report [[spoiler:after Callie almost strangles her.]]

* AmbiguouslyBrown: Chloe is the only character in the cast who is obviously dark-skinned, though it's never mentioned in character. She has a Korean surname like the rest of the characters, and taken alongside her blonde hair and sporty clothes, her appearance may be more of an indicator that she is part of a fashion subculture like ''gyaru'' than one of ethnicity.
* AscendedFanboy: Hailey humors her greatest fan, Kayla, until she begins to surpass her in popularity. She could not let Imitation Beauty get more attention than her.
* BeautyEqualsGoodness: Hailey is of course a massive subversion. Ivy, the original magical girl of beauty, is a genuinely good and nice person along with being beautiful.
* BigBad: [[spoiler: Terrie has been playing everyone from the start, ever since Julie made her Sweet Ifrit by playing on her guilt over Jina's bullying and death. She's the one responsible for Hailey and the rest becoming magical girls when not so subtly manipulated Julie into choosing them, and has been provoking reactions out of everyone that eventually led to their deaths. Unlike a usual BigBad, it was never exactly her plan to get rid of everyone from the start and she was mainly an opportunist]].
* BigBadWannabe: Hailey and Sue can be considered this, since Hailey at first looked like she was the leader of the magical girls, and Sue appeared to be a schemer in her own right, but neither of them realized [[spoiler: Terrie was manipulating their reactions the whole time.]]
* BigGood: Deconstructed with [[spoiler: Julie. She tried to be this, but she unfortunately kept choosing the wrong girls to empower which ended up causing her and sister untold pain before it ultimately got Julie killed. She's an example of what happens when a person with the power to be a BigGood isn't able to accomplish much because of poor decision making and for being too naïve. It's later reconstructed with Sarah in the side story who, though fallible, is arguably doing a better job as a revelator than Julie did by making sure the magical girls aren't corrupted by popularity and for being able to take criticism when her decisions are called into question.]]

* CuteAndPsycho: Terrie or Sweet Ifrit may seem like a cute magical girl but she expresses the desire to kill those who cross her or the other magical girls. [[spoiler:She's eventually revealed to have been the BigBad thanks to manipulating Julie into giving the wrong powers to the wrong girls.]]
* DarkIsNotEvil: [[spoiler: Sarah's awakened form as Raven Campanula, which isn't white and silver like her original form. This highlights she is no longer taking a passive role and is owning up to her past failures instead of letting them hold her back.]]
* TheDitherer: Sarah's biggest issue is that people accuse her of being a hypocrite because she doesn't do anything. Sarah later clarifies her lack of action isn't because she's scared to act, she's scared of potentially making a situation worse and doesn't want someone to get hurt due to her. [[spoiler:Sarah eventually gets over this and becomes Raven Campanula, and later the new Revelator, because her sense of justice is revitalized and she stops being afraid.]]
* DrivenToSuicide: [[spoiler: Mint throws herself off the school roof after killing Mr. Park, after discovering he's a child molester.]]
* ElementalRivalry: Chloe (electricity) and Sue (water). It doesn't help that Chloe was a champion swimmer and resents Sue for getting water powers she doesn't care about.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Chloe's only showing of actual morals manifests in her disgust at Sue using her water powers to cheat in swimming competitions, unlike the other athletes who actually worked hard.

* FaceOfAnAngelMindOfADemon: Being the pinnacle of beauty, the citizens of Peace City assume that Hailey (and the other magical girls, to a lesser extent) must be as beautiful on the inside. They're ''very'' wrong.

* GrewASpine: [[spoiler: Sarah, after finally deciding she needs to do ''something'' instead of fearing she'll only make things worse. While she's not able to stop Terrie or prevent Callie's death, as the new revelator she's able to guide new magical girls to avoid the same mistakes the others made.]]

* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: Yeah Julie, making [[spoiler:Jina the Magical Girl of Fire was the smart thing to do. And she's totally friends with that NervousWreck Terrie who seems like she's about to void herself every time Jina talks to her.]]
* {{Hypocrite}}: [[spoiler:By the end of their duel, Terrie's reduced to a miserable wreck sobbing about how Callie's mean and being unfair. Callie gleefully and vengeful screams Terrie didn't have a problem when ''she'' thought she had an advantage to exploit.]]

* InferioritySuperiorityComplex: How Chloe acts toward Sue. She is jealous of Sue's swimming ability since she became afraid of water when she became the magical girl of electricity.
* KarmicProtection: [[spoiler: Sarah, as the only legitimately good (but not blameless) magical girl, is the only survivor of the main cast aside from Ivy and Ara.]]
* LackOfEmpathy: Played around with a lot regarding Julie. She really does mean while and she hates to see people get hurt or mistreated, but [[spoiler:she has absolutely no way to read a room and tends to take everything at face value. It's not until things get really, really bad that she finally understands how horrible a situation truly is. Terrie became the BigBad explicitly because Julie not only made Jina a magical girl, but her utter lack of understanding someone else's emotions only makes things worse.]]

** The teachers and administration of Peace High also mostly don't appear, but they seem especially useless considering the godawful bullying going on every day that nobody seems interested in stopping. [[spoilers:The only teacher with a major role is Mr. Park, and the fact that he's a known sex offender who preys on his teenage students apparently didn't stop anyone from hiring him and letting him continue to teach young girls.]]
