* CallBack: In the first episode, when Chris flies with Tails in the Tornado, he's caught off-guard and screams about the plane's lack of seatbelts, prompting Tails to ask "what are seatbelts?" When Tails and Chuck build the X-Tornado, he says to Amy that he convinced Tails to implement them in this ship, causing Amy to ask what a seatbelt is.

** Military soldiers in the first episode try to arrest Sonic, with the first one asking about how he escaped Prison Island, before they realized they made a mistake and mistook him for someone else. Much like how G.U.N. would go after Sonic by mistaking/pinning the blame on him for Shadow in the ''VideoGame/SonicAdventure2'' arc[[note]]Though in the OVA, Sonic mentions Shadow by name after asking Tails if he included the fanart where he and Shadow fused into a toilet[[/note]].

* EatingMachine: Like in the original ''Sonic X'', Bokkun is a robot that can eat and actually gets hungry, asking the crew for a snack before he leaves.
--->'''Bokkun:''' Yes, I'm a robot and can eat, don't question it.

* SlippingAMickey: It's implied in Episode 5 that Amy intended to do this to Sonic. While it's never outright stated ''what'' the "special ingredient" she put in Sonic's pie was, she later tricks Bokkun into eating it instead, and when Eggman then phones Bokkun, we see him tripping out so badly that he can barely speak coherently. Bear in mind that Bokkun is a robot.

* ShoutOut: A brief snippet of "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5wulic5wsU Quirky Worky Song]]" from ''WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerb'' is heard during the quick transition that skips over the building montage of the X-Tornado.
