** The Deadly Six get this in a more subtle way, as they have even fewer frames of animation than the rest of the cast and their exit is just a lazy rotation effect. Eventually, they cease to even have lines.

* AbhorrentAdmirer: Amy in most of her appearances, to the extent that Sonic will literally run away screaming every time he sees her. She actually abuses this in "''Riders''" by attaching herself to him with a piece of bungee cord, [[BatmanGambit knowing that when he sees her approaching, he'll panic and run away at top speed]]. It works, and Sonic duly wins the Extreme Gear race.

* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: In ''Rush Adventure'', unlike the game, Sonic and Blaze go along with Marine's assertions that she is their captain - but point out that, as captain, it's ''her'' responsibility to do all the hard work (like hurtling through [[JungleJapes Plant Kingdom]] and battling Captain Whiskers) while they sit around doing nothing. This in turn backfires on them at the end - having to do all the work herself causes Marine to grow strong enough to tear the final boss apart ''with her bare hands'', at which point she forces Sonic and Blaze to start doing their share of the work (i.e. all of it).

* TheBadGuyWins: In the remake of "''Rivals''", [[spoiler:Eggman Nega succeeds in turning the world into a card, but [[PyrrhicVictory dies in the]] [[BrickJoke cold vacuum of space]] as a result.]]

** In the remake, [[spoiler:Eggman Nega actually succeeds in turning the world into a card, and really ''does'' die in the cold vacuum of space, his EvilLaugh petering out as he realises the mistake he's made.]] It also adds another example: Silver rescues those who got trapped in Eggman Nega's cards, but one of them contains the Ifrit, which then attacks him.

** Also parodied in the "''Rivals''" remake: thanks to Knuckles and his [[RunningGag constant confusion]], everyone is so busy fighting each other that they forget about Eggman Nega, and he's able to carry out his evil plan unopposed.

* PintSizedPowerhouse: In "''Heroes''", as Metal Sonic shows off the powers he's stolen from each character, Shadow and Big's powers barely register on his gauge, but Cream's nearly send them ''flying off the screen''. Cream then points out how she's been carrying [[TheBigGuy Big]] around all day. Cheese also counts, as during the Egg Fleet sequence he's seen ripping apart an ''entire freaking battleship'' from the inside.

*** "''Adventure 2''" also has crowds popping up to cheer at random points - for example, when Eggman threatens Amy, [[TakeThatScrappy a crowd labelled "Amy Haters" appears to cheer]]. When Shadow rescues Rouge from Prison Island, a single Shadouge shipper cheers, then immediately adds, "Uh-oh" as he realises the place is about to explode.

* SpyFiction: Amy's story in "''Adventure''" is told similarly to an action spy thriller, with Amy even being re ferred to as "Agent Rose".

** Invoked. Roger is not afraid to take it out on characters he hates. Not in the slightest. ** Big gets this treatment in pretty much every one of his appearances. DoubleSubverted in "''Adventure''" where he's depicted as a sophisticated, intelligent zoologist, only for the GUN commander to treat him like the Froggy-obsessed moron he's usually depicted as and throw him out before he can actually tell his side of the story.
** "''Rush Adventure''" gives Marine this treatment, with Sonic and Blaze pushing her around for the entire episode, only to subvert it in the ending by having Marine [[TookALevelInBadass take a level in badass]] and get her own back on them.
** Amy is a borderline example, due to her consistent portrayal as an AxCrazy, Sonic-obsessed {{Yandere}}. Even in "''Adventure 2''", where a crowd labelled "Amy haters" cheers when Eggman threatens Amy's life, she isn't treated with anywhere near the level of vitriol that Big or Chris got.

* TooDumbToLive: Big's usual characterization, along with his obsession with his pet Froggy. Hilariously subverted in "''Adventure''", where he's depicted as a sophisticated, intelligent zoologist who was in Station Square doing research, but before he can properly begin his story he's chewed out by the GUN general for his Froggy obsession ''despite having not mentioned Froggy's name once''.

* NeverRecycleYourSchemes: Averted in "''Riders''". When Eggman is pondering what to do next, one of his minions reminds him of the time he tricked a bunch of bank security guards into entering a kart race [[WhatAnIdiot in exchange for them turning off all the security]], allowing Eggman to waltz in and steal all the money while the guards are otherwise occupied. He duly decides to pull the same trick again, throwing an Extreme Gear race in exchange for everyone giving him their Chaos Emeralds.

*** The Sonic Riders In Minutes episodes all end with a character declaring some variant of [[ScrewThisImOutOfHere "I will never, EVER appear in any Sonic game again."]] [[BrickJoke only to be contradicted by the time the next Riders game comes out.]] Made even more hilarious(And somewhat HarsherInHindsight) by the fact that even with the Riders sub-series seemingly coming to an end after the weak showing of Freeriders, the Babylon Rouges STILL show up in other games.

* SequelEscalation: The episodes kept getting longer and more elaborate to the point that Roger stopped putting the number of minutes in the episode titles, because the numbers were getting silly. "''[[VideoGame/SonicAdventure Adventure]]''", for example, is ''22 minutes long'' (not the "5 million minutes" claimed in the title, but still very long). "''[[VideoGame/SonicHeroes Heroes]]''" was shorter at 12 minutes but boasted 3D backdrops in both Grand Metropolis and Egg Fleet, an impressive feat for a Flash animation (especially the latter, which featured dozens of crudely-rendered ships).
