[[WMG: Susan Dinwiddie and Murph are having an affair]]affair]]
[[WMG: What's New Scooby-Doo is set in the future]]
In the episode "Go West Young Scoob" the sheriff (a man in his 30s-40s) says he used to be a computer nerd, and a flashback shows him as a kid having his laptop thrown in the garbage. If the series were set in the same time period it came out (early 2000s) then this would be anachronistic, but if it were set 15-20 years later it would make perfect sense. Supporting this theory is the film ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooPiratesAhoy'' in which Velma claims the USS Cyclops has been missing for over a hundred years. For Velma's statement to be correct, the year can be no earlier than 2019.

He has a different hair color and is treated as an outcast. His father is ironically enough probably Flash Flanigan. They have the same hair color. It would also explain why Randy is so angry. He is the son of a musician and has no musical talent.

It would explain both his obsession with the Mystery Kids and why he wants the van so badly. If it belonged to his father, he feels that the van is rightfully his,

It seems likely given the fact that he is an,expy of 80s rock stars. It is likely he was trying to get clean while mentoring the kids and ultimately failed. Susan's attitude may have contributed to this as well.

This seems like the whole likely theory as Chris and Terri look way to young to have start it themselves. They look to be in their twenties maybe early thirties at the most. It is likely that their parents bought the park so that they could run it.

It looks like a van a hippie would have lived in. Mandy says it was his "home away from home," but what if it was his only home?

It would explain his obsession with the mystery kids. It would also explain his obsession with the van. Since [[spoiler: Flash Flanigan painted the mystery machine,]] it would be understandable why he wants it back.

[[WMG: Flash Flanigan was the father of Andy and Mandy]]
It would explain where they got the music talent. It connects well with the next WMG if:

[[WMG: Randy is only Andy and Mandy's half brother]]
He looks nothing like them and has very different interests.

[[WMG: Flash Flannigan lived in the Mystery Machine]]

[[WMG: Flash Flanigan faked his death]]
I find it odd that so little is mentioned about this character. All we know is that [[spoiler: he had an accident after a concert presumely the one where he stormed off]]. What if he got sick of Susan's constant control, faked his death and went into hiding.

[[WMG: Murf the Mechanic is Flash Flanigan]]
