Part 7 was a mix of parts 1 and 2, with minor references to 3. Part 8 seems to be a mix between 3 and 4 with a little bit of 5. So part 9 will be similar to parts 5 and 6. Bonus points if it leads to the 2 timelines merging at the end or a new one is created.

Part 8 is in 2012. Araki pretty much only has the choice of going further in the future or using more AU/time travel shenanigans at this point, making sci-fi a likely genre change. Maybe Stands will have been discovered by science.

..and Part 9 will close a trilogy in the new universe. Parts 1-3 could be called the "DIO Trilogy", as it begins with Dio in Phantom Blood, the Stone Mask influence in Battle Tendency, and [[spoiler:the end of DIO]] in Part 3. Sure, [[spoiler:DIO is dead by Part 3's end]], but his influence lingers in Parts 4-6, with Mr. Nijimura in Part 4, Giorno in Part 5, and Pucci in Part 6. Parts 4-6 can be considered the "Jotaro Trilogy", as in Parts 4 and 6, he's a major ally, and in Part 5, not so much, but still there to help.
As for Parts 7 and 8, and the eventual Part 9, despite the vast difference in time periods from P7 (1890) and P8 (2011), there is a character who influences events in both parts, and which is why Parts 7, 8, and possibly 9, can be called the "Johnny Trilogy". Johnny is the protagonist of Part 7, and [[spoiler:dies in Morioh in Part 8, while still influencing the curse of sorts.]] Not only that but he's also [[spoiler:A distant relative of Part 8's Kira]], so maybe Johnny or the SBR race will be mentioned or a key factor of Part 9.

She is after, part of the Joestar bloodline too.

If an African country, might take place in South Africa during the Apartheid, and the {{Amoral Afrikaner}}s present would be a cheeky callback to the Nazis in Part 2. If a black community, most likely Japan's Nigerian community where Part 9 Jojo is blasian and related to Josuke 8, or the United States, to make relating to it easier for a Japanese audience.

Their names will be "Jonah" and "Joanna," and they are nicknamed "the [=JoJo=] Twins" by their friends. In a form of SiblingYinYang, their Stands will have a Day and Night theme to them. One is stronger in sunlight (which can be an excuse to bring Hamon back into the story), and the others' strength depends on the phase of the moon.

Every other Jojo in the SBR-Verse has some kind of handicap (Johnny being bound to a wheelchair, Josuke's amnesia), so it would make sense that the next one would have one too. Since there have already been handicaps based on lack of body parts and mental handicaps, a sensory one would be the natural progression.

Part 7 featured a counterpart of Dio and Part 8 a counterpart of Kira. Therefore Part 9 could feature a counterpart of Kars, Diavolo or Pucci.

The title could refer to the plot being about chasing after a villain who's hot on the trail of multiple countries to spread their negative influence, à la ''Franchise/CarmenSandiego''. From this, the Stand ThemeNaming could be based around all seven continents.

The title could be referencing the landforms in the SBR universe that gives people Stands at a price.

The announcement specifically referred to it as a "Tentative" (subject to change) title. And it would feel wrong to have two parts, let alone two parts in a row, that have such similar names.
* Half-Jossed, the official name has been revealed to be "The [=JOJOlands=]"

And the story will involve a power struggle between him and his brothers, who will be counterparts of Donatello Versus, Ungalo and Rikiel. Only this time, rather than being Dio's sons, they will probably be the sons of Diavolo's counterpart (who actually ''won't'' be the BigBad of Part 9, his death being what leads to the power struggle between the four brothers). Also, "Giorno"'s right-hand woman throughout most of the story will reveal herself as the real BigBad in the final chapters of Part 9, becoming the first female BigBad of the series.
* Considering that the official pre-release plot synopsis is "the story is about a boy who goes on to become extremely rich in the subtropical islands" the theory of at least the protagonist being a parallel to Giorno seems to hold water, as it would be a similiar theme of rising in power.

Since by the end of Part 8, [[spoiler: its stated that Soft & Wet: Go Beyond can cure her disease & the Higashikata curse, and we don't see this idea fully realized. The new story arc might even go further into the Spin and what that means for Stands in the SBR-universe.]] He might even meet or become an ally to the new protagonist.

... and he'll already be an adult, or even an old man, indicating that the SBR universe has moved past the original universe. He'll be an ally of Part 9's [=JoJo=] and may mention that he came from another universe to Part 9's [=JoJo=], but it will be presented just as a trivia, rather than as a major plot point - and no one will believe him (though this part's [=JoJo=] will probably pretend they believe in order not to hurt his feelings).

Araki confirmed in a 2022 interview that the protagonist is a future descendant of Joeseph Joestar. In his introductory chapter, he is shown to have a girlfriend who he wanted to treat with the money earned from working for Lucy Steel, only for circumstances to leave him trapped in America and eventually meeting and marrying Suzi Q while they were working for the Steel Ball Foundation. It's likely that his Japanese girlfriend was unknowingly pregnant on the day he left, and the next protagonist will be descended from their child. As Joseph and Suzi didn't have any other children besides Holy, plus with Kei dead and Josuke (who was made from Holy's son Yoshikage and Josefumi Kujo) not mentioned when discussing the future protagonist, this is a likely lineage for the next [=JoJo=].
* Jossed. The protagonist Jodio and his brother Dragona are the grandchildren of both Joseph and Suzi through their mother Barbara Ann.

Based on [[https://mobile.twitter.com/araki_jojo/status/1609203979921022976 this New Year's card]] Araki created, which also serves as a teaser for ''The [=JOJOLands=]'', the thing that takes the most focus is a rabbit. One observed form of New Year's is the Lunar New Year, which devotes itself towards the rotation cycles of the Moon. On top of that, rabbits are commonly believed in Japan to be [[MoonRabbit envoys of the Moon]]. Combining those two aspects and the fact that Araki had created the teaser for New Year's, it seems to hint towards something lunar being at play for Part 9.

* It's [[OccamsRazor more likely]] that the image was simply referring to 2023 being the Year of the Rabbit.

* First of all, there's the obvious similarities between the Album's name and the name of the people the whole series is about: The Joestars. They're even marked by a Black Star birthmark!
* Part 9 is likely going to be the GrandFinale of Jojo due to Araki's age, and Blackstar was the final album David Bowie released before his death, with heavy themes of death within.
* The tagline of The Jojolands, "This is the story of a boy that... comes into a great wealth" can be easily tied back to individual lyrics of Blackstar. "Comes into a great wealth" seems to imply that the protagonist of Part 9 will recieve an inheritance so you could say that the part was triggered due when "Something happened on the day he died". In addition, due to the tagline confirming the protagonist to be male, it is very likely that they are the counterpart to Giorno, since he is the only male Jojo to not have a counterpart in the Steel Ball Run universe. However, since the part seems to be framed around the ocean rather than the mafia, he's "Not a gangstar".
