It all came crashing down with The Ghosts of Mars (the final attempt to bring about the horror) and since then he has lived a peaceful-ish life without the voices from another dimension telling him what to do! Sutter Cane was trying to bring the Great Old Ones to earth by breaking the fourth wall with his [[RealityWarper reality warping powers]].
