He supposedly "died" from being strangled by a yo-yo by Chucky, in reality, it takes approximately 12-15 minutes to actually KILL someone from strangulation and only about a minute to render someone unconscious, Chucky strangled him for way less than the amount of time needed to kill. Mr. Sullivan is most-likely merely unconscious, though he may suffer brain damage due to prolonged lack of oxygen and blood to the brain.
