** Jossed. Oliver fights nearly to the death defending Kara's Earth and then dies surrounded by friends and family. Flash on the other hand gets to abuse the wording of the prophesy. It says The Flash, it doesn't specify Barry Allen and the Flash of Earth 90 dies in his place, with no witnesses raising the question of how and where the story originally came from. Though Pariah and the Monitor both admit they didn't see this coming so time is fluid here. Which is somewhat constant in the Arrowverse.

Added DiffLines:

[[WMG: The Monitor is manipulating Oliver into making a weapon capable of killing the Anti-Monitor]]
* The Monitor has insistently kept Oliver locked out of the loop and has almost deliberately seemed to be pushing him in a couple of instances. Oliver goes rogue from him as of the end of "Welcome to Hong Kong", but he hasn't seemed to care for the most part. As of the end of "Present Tense", Oliver is convinced that the Monitor is responsible for the Crisis and is attempting to make a weapon capable of killing the Monitor. The Monitor has done absolutely nothing in response to any of Oliver's actions, but given that the Monitor has been more-or-less omnipotent up until now, it's safe to say that he could very well be aware of what Oliver is doing and is letting him do it because the weapon Oliver is making will be capable of killing the Anti-Monitor in the Crisis on Infinite Earths later this year. Mia, William and Connor being sent back to the present might also have something to do with this. Allowing Oliver to be the creator of the weapon that kills the Anti-Monitor in the Crisis on Infinite Earths and saves the multiverse would be a pretty nice way to end the former playboy billionaire's story arc and would explain why the Monitor has done absolutely nothing in response to Oliver defecting (since he had Lyla to deliver the good doctor anyway), despite him still pulling strings as he's implied to have been by sending William, Mia and Connor to 2019.

With Kate Kane's imminent arrival and [[Series/{{Batwoman}} the show she will headline]] being on the way, the CW might need to cut something. ''Arrow'' would be the best bet due to it being so much longer than the other shows in the line.

[[WMG: Barry and Oliver will die together in the Crisis]]
* We know that, according to The Monitor, both Barry and Oliver are slated to die in the Crisis. My theory is that yes, they are absolutely serious about this, this ''will'' happen, and there will be no take-backsies or anything. However, it might still be a somewhat heartwarming moment, as these two great friends will be with each other in their last moments and sacrifice themselves at the same time, making for a somewhat platonic version of TogetherInDeath (and given the mystical side of the ''Arrowverse'' via Constantine et all, we may even see them in the afterlife).

** There's a possibility that it could be the man, himself. Although [[Film/TheDarkKnightSaga Nolan's Dark Knight Saga]] has made him more well-known to the mainstream, he's still a DC property, so there is no reason why he could not make an appearance on Arrow. He'd likely be played by another actor, with a different interpretation of the character, but he does not need an expy.

* We know that Emily Bett Rickards (Felicity) will be leaving the series at the end of season 7. This would mean that for the final season there would be no go-to hacker for Team Arrow. Alena already has a fairly good relationship with the team as a recurring character over the course of three seasons, so it would make sense to promote her from recurring to main. Even from what we know of her in the future flashforwards, she's still more-or-less a heroic'ish character.
