So, one wonders if he’s more than just an ordinary alligator. He doesn’t seem nearly as evil as the demon characters in the films, but then again he’s clearly not an angel, either. Perhaps he’s from some sort of limbo where the more morally conflicted souls go. Like people who would rather just goof off and make music rather than doing good or bad deeds. That might be another reason why he and Charlie get along so well.

*It could also make for an interesting variation on the above theory about a possible connection with [[WesternAnimation/ThePrincessAndTheFrog Louis]]. If King Gator is a supernatural entity, he might actually be much ''older'' than Louis is, and could be his ancestor rather than the other way around. Louis would be an alligator version of a [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cambion cambion]], explaining why he loves music so much and doesn’t act like an ordinary gator.

It was way too easy for Carface to steal Gabriel's Horn. They could have known that Red was working on Earth, and Carface either chose to be a double agent, or was assigned as one. Ace, the Saint-Bernard Angel, and Reginald/Reggie, were also brought in to the fold, possibly because Annabelle trusted them the most, to be the Angel bringing it back to Heaven, but instead Charlie managed to weasel his way into the mission. Carface was supposed to give Red a fake after the real one was brought back to Heaven, and was expecting Charlie to do the same, which is why he was laughing when it looked like the Horn didn't work. He thought the plan had succeeded, and Red would be dragged down to Hell for failing. Instead Red got the real one and you all know the rest.

[[WMG: King Gator is a supernatural being in the form of a gator.]]
The [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taxil_hoax Taxil hoax]] from the 1890s was a series of mock conspiracy theories about Freemasons, which were actually accepted as fact by some people at the time (mostly devout Roman Catholics) despite being created as a joke. One of the more outlandish claims Léo Taxil made was that the Masons worshiped a demon who changed into the form of a crocodile and played the piano.

King Gator is an alligator and not a crocodile, but it makes more sense to appear as the former in a story set in Louisiana. And he does have that cult of voodoo rats who appear to worship and offer sacrifices to him. They don’t exactly resemble Masons, but again, this is Louisiana and so the voodoo imagery would make more sense.

Charlie didn't want to freak out the kids with details of gangsters, booze and graphic death. In addition, Annabelle would have been on his tail if he told [[DarkerandEdgier the real version]]. So he fluffed it up, crafting a well-rehearsed fable that hid certain details under a lightened curtain.

Spending so long in Heaven between films softened him a bit. He wasn't a good guy, but wasn't a threat like before. Worked for Dabura in ''DragonBallZ'' and he was a demon king, makes more sense here to. Also, this would help explain his [[spoiler: HeelFaceTurn in the ChristmasSpecial]].
