With the data deleted, the charges they brought against Kou are gone which allows [[GuileHero Miller]] to immediately push for his release before the Titans can bring new charges.

* In ''Manga/{{Hellsing}}'', because Zorin Blitz couldn't wait to attack Hellsing HQ before the main troops arrived and because she couldn't resist playing with Seras, she ends up allowing Seras to fully awaken her vampiric power. Which leads to Seras killing her and The Captain, preventing Alucard's death as well as protecting Integra. Ultimately she prevented Millennium from having more than just a partial victory all because she couldn't sit back and wait.

* The manga adaptation of ''Series/KamenRider'' sees the Bat Man show the smarts to keep Takeshi Hongo from his [[CoolBike Cyclone]], thereby preventing him from being able to push enough wind through his Typhoon belt to transform into Kamen Rider...but then he decides to kill Takeshi by lifting him into the sky and dropping him to his death. This backfires spectacularly, as there is more than enough wind rushing past the Typhoon to facilitate his transformation.

* Played pretty much straight with Gauron from ''LightNovel/FullMetalPanic'', of all people. Despite all that he's done and/or tried to do to Sousuke, his words end up have an eventually positive impact on the kid. For example, his lecture in TSR contains not only vital information that he willingly passes on to Sousuke (in order to get revenge on his former organisation, but mostly "as a favour to you"), but it also poses Sousuke one of the most important questions in his personal arc: "Did you sell your soul to those bastards in Mithril?" Sousuke gives his answer during his confrontation with his Mithril superiors at the end of TSR: "I dont' remember selling my soul to you." Also, on every occasion after Gauron's death (uh... the final, ''definitive'' one, I mean...), that someone mentions Gauron, it only serves in making Sousuke try harder. He uses his 'Kashim' personality to reach his goals, knows some of his enemies better because they were Gauron's associates (and they fear/respect him because they know how Gauron... ''felt'' about him) and he eventually confirms his and Gauron's almost identical nature to Leonard Testarossa's face, with no shame or guilt, merely pointing out the one thing that made them different: the enjoyment they each took in the act of killing (or lack thereof, in Sousuke's case). And in hearing Leonard's words about Gauron's opinion on the delicate subject of changing history/fate, Sousuke received confirmation of his own beliefs (apparently, he trusted Gauron's judgement on this matter, at least). All in all, not a bad job from the resident psychopath of the series.

One is the brattiest kid in the orphanage who cannot be disciplined and another is a girl that is obviously spying on her. Neither can be considered competent. The third is, but ''he'' functions as a spy for a different priest. However, this works out for Maine since she treats the bratty kid with respect and praise, which is all he wanted. He then begins learning how to do his job right. The second girl falls in line when she realizes she can't be an effective spy and might as well work with Maine, who is willing to be nice to her and reward her for hard work. The third one is won over by pointing out that while Maine is too nice for him and the position insulting, the fact that he was given the position shows that the other priest valued him. As such, Maine ends up with three competent attendants who are all more loyal to Maine than the head of the temple.
