Booker [=DeWitt=] is a washed-up ex-PinkertonDetective whose gambling debts catch up to him and force him to accept [[OneLastJob one final chance]] to wipe the slate clean. He finds himself sent to Columbia, [[FloatingContinent a floating city]] that was once the pride of the United States before it went rogue and became a sovereign city.
