* StylisticSuck: The graphics are even cheaper looking than the show itself. This actually works too well, as it makes the game look outdated even by 1999 [=PS1=] standards. For context, this came out on PS1 the same year as Resident Evil 3, Final Fantasy 8, and Silent Hill.

** The N64 version made it out a little bit better in this regard, because it came out a year earlier in 1998, and the lower standards that gamers had for non-first party games on the system.

* VideoGameCrueltyPunishment: If you kill innocent animals (and Officer Barbrady in one level), you will lose points.

to:

* TheyKilledKennyAgain: In the scene after winning the game, Kenny gets hit by a safe. Chef shouts the famous, prompting Stan and Kyle to point out how the wording doesn't actually make any sense.
* VideoGameCrueltyPotential: At the start of each new level, you have to guide whichever character you selected to go meet up with the other three boys. This is quite simple, but before making contact, you can pelt any of them with snowballs (which will prompt angry responses).
* VideoGameCrueltyPunishment: If you kill innocent animals (and Officer Barbrady in one level), you will lose points.points.
* WakeUpCallBoss: Downplayed with the transformer boss. It has the same slow moving issues as its predecessors, so it's not that tricky if you have enough health and ammo, as well as know where to aim for. The catch is that, unlike the other bosses, there is a stand that allows it to heal its damage, which might catch unsuspecting players off guard. If you fail to stop the robot from recharging, you'll have to start from scratch.

* AdultsAreUseless: None of the adults do anything to help stop the threats caused by the comet. It's all up to the boys.

* CheckpointStarvation: There are no in-level checkpoints.

* FakeDifficulty: Hordes of enemies and no checkpoints. You also have to kill any "tank" enemies who escaped into town after finishing a level. If you fail, you have to redo the entire level. This even applies after beating a boss.

* HardLevelsEasyBosses: The bosses are very slow moving, which makes it easier to avoid and kill them than the common enemies. As long as you have plenty of health and aren't almost dead from the previous enemies, in which case it can be pretty hard.

* NintendoHard: The game is very difficult, with some players being unable to beat the first boss.

* OxygenMeter: Averted. You can take a character underwater without having any indication that there is a time limit, which may make you think the game gives you SuperNotDrowningSkills, only for you to start rapidly losing health after a while.

* StarterVillain: The first villains the boys encounter are a group of turkeys.

* Fartillery: The Terrance and Phillip dolls, naturally, fart. Phillip dolls are grenades and Terrance dolls are motion activated mines, but either way they release a cloud of nasty fart gas instead of exploding.
* GroinAttack: The final boss is some kind of transformer whose only vulnerable spot is its crotch.
* HumongousMecha: The boss of the first level is a gigantic turkey mecha. Its only vulnerable spot is a bullseye where its sphincter would be if it were a real turkey.

!!Tropes shown in this game:
* AlienInvasion: A comet of Visitors arrive to disrupt South Park.
* BigBad: The Visitors are the main antagonists.
* ClusterBleepBomb: Stan can call an enemy "Speedy pussy mother(bleep)(bleep)er." Every "shit" and "fuck" is completely censored.
* CometOfDoom: The flying comet kickstarts the game's plot.
* ContentWarning: It has the traditional content warning seen in the cartoon.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: As with products related to South Park in the 1990s, it is dated to the show's early roots.
* LogoJoke: When the Iguana Entertainment logo shows up, the giant lizard eats Kenny.
* OhCrap: Said word-for-word by Chef after Cartman told him that the future of civilization is in his hands.
* SnowballFight: Subverted, Stan can use snowballs as ammo.
* StarterVillain: The first villains the boys encounter are a group of turkeys.
