Moved Too Awesome To Use from YMMV

Added DiffLines:

* TooAwesomeToUse: Guns. While they'll take guards out with a single shot, you'll want to save them for samurai, as stunning them with a shot is the only way to take them out without Mugen or Takuma's bombs, which the latter also fall under this trope. While Takuma can find extra rifle rounds, there's no way to acquire extra ammo for matchlock pistols.

** In the third mission, you're supposed to steal documents from an official working for Lord Yabu, who's patrolling with a squad of samurai in a heavily guarded garden. Instead of systematically killing and/or drawing the guards away from the area, you can just have Yuki hop through the rooftops and crouch-walk along the farthest walls where none of the guards would see her, then pickpocket the documents from the official when he walks close enough. All you have to do after that is to get her and Mugen into the wagon to finish the level.

the breakup is permanent by the end of the game. A few other edits, and an addition

* BreakingTheFellowship: After the group managed to [[spoiler:assassinate Lord Noboru/Kaga-sama and avenged Mugen's death, everyone decided to go their separate ways, though they at least remain together for a while longer on the road back home.]]

* DramaticIrony: The epilogue of ''Aiko's Choice'' has a scene where Aiko and Mugen talk about their future once the Kage-sama business is finished, with Aiko subtly inquiring whether Mugen could see them being a family; Mugen thinks it would be wonderful. Considering the scene takes place the night before they strike at Kage-sama's camp [[spoiler:and fall into his trap eventually [[DoomedByCanon leading to Mugen's suicide]]]], those who have finished the main game first before playing the DLC can't really share in the happiness and hope for the future of the pair.

* TheFellowshipHasEnded: After the group manages to [[spoiler:assassinate Lord Noboru/Kaga-sama and avenged Mugen's death, the survivors decide to go their separate ways, though they at least remain together for a while longer on the road back home.]]

* SomeoneToRememberHimBy: It's only implied, but Aiko whispers something to her love Mugen [[spoiler:before he commits seppuku]], and the only hint we have for what she said is his reply of "Ah, something ends, something begins. As it should be", implying that she is pregnant.

Allied forces pin down the defenders while the team infiltrates and compromises the castle's defenses (blowing open the main gate in Mission 1, taking out flag officers and blowing up the supply depot before assassinating General Okkoto in Mission 9.

* TrialAndErrorGameplay: This is one tough game, and it will often take a lot of experimentation and planning to succeed in certain missions. Thankfully, the game's extensive [[AntiFrustrationFeature quicksaving, quickloading, Shadow Mode, and highlighting systems]] make this kind gameplay less frustrating.

* YouHaveResearchedBreathing: Only the ladies are capable bending down and dragging bodies along the ground to try to avoid being seen while doing it -- your physically-capable male assassins apparently will not stoop that low. Only Hayato can manage the esoteric feat of throwing rocks. Only Mugen can have the foresight to bring a bottle of sake to lure guards in with, et cetera...[[AcceptableBreaksFromReality look, it wouldn't be very fun or interesting if all of the characters barely had any differences for you to work around.]]

Removing tropeslashing. Japanese Honorifics is not a trope.

** Pressing the "highlight" key highlights every intractable in the environment, which is excellent for picking out enemies in a crowd or looking for hiding places.

* AntiquatedLinguistics[=/=]BilingualBonus: If the dialogue language is set to Japanese, all the spoken lines will be in period-appropriate Japanese... except Yuki occasionally uses English loanwords more reminiscent of modern Japanese; for example, the words "melody" and "jump." Aiko also has one instance wherein she uses the English loanword for "message."
** UsefulNotes/JapaneseHonorifics: In line with adjusting the Japanese to the time period, most of the honorifics used in the English written dialogue won't match the spoken Japanese. To cite one example, Mugen tends to use "-dono" to address his comrades, which is not reflected in the English subtitles. Also, Yuki never calls Mugen by name, instead using the phrase お侍さん ("''O-samurai-san''", translated in-game to "Master samurai").

Non Lethal KO is about apparently lethal attacks just causing a KO, not about knockout moves in general. The whole example works better in Tap On The Head, which is about knockout moves in general.

* NonLethalKO: You can make your melee attacks non-lethal. Knocked-out enemies will wake up if found or after some time, but they won't raise the alarm if they can't find you. Outside of some badges and certain mission objectives that have to be kept alive, there's no real benefit to this.

* TapOnTheHead: A possible move for all characters that aren't Takuma.

* VariableMix: The backing track for each mission is generally just a quiet rhythm. Whenever one of your characters takes a significant action (using an ability, hiding in a bush), the game will add a snippet of that character's corresponding instrument to the music. Compare the music that plays while doing nothing to the music while having all of your characters step in and out of a bush, and you'll notice quite a difference.

Aiko can say "Guten Tag" in the English dub as well.

** In Mission 10, if you shoot [[spoiler:the fake Kage-sama]] with Takuma's rifle, you will earn an achievement 'The End', a shout-out to the old legendary sniper 'The End' in ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid3SnakeEater'', of whom Takuma greatly resembles.

** Two for ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid3SnakeEater'':
*** In Mission 6, if you kill General Okkoto (despite this not being your objective), you will receive a game over because "You caused a time paradox", just like what happens if Snake kills Ocelot.

** Rarely when Aiko in disguise distracts a guard, her Japanese voice actress says "Guten Tag" to initiate the conversation, which is german for "Good day", which is what the Spy from ''{{VideoGame/Commandos}}'' would say in disguise to initiate a conversation with a german guard. Likewise, Yuki will rarely say "cheers luv, the cavalry's here!" - the catchphrase of Tracer from Videogame/{{Overwatch}}. Takuma will rarely say "death is whimsical today" upon being selected, either another Overwatch reference (to Zenyatta) or one [[Film/TheProfessional to the movie about assassins]] that the line originally originally referenced.

* StopPokingMe: Repeatedly selecting a character will cause their responses to start breaking the fourth wall and making pop culture references. Among other things, Hayato starts quoting from ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid'', Yuki quotes from ''Series/GameOfThrones'', and Mugen quotes from ''{{VideoGame/Starcraft}}'' and ''{{VideoGame/Warcraft}}''.
