Taking place between the second and third volumes (or the first and second seasons of the anime), the events of the game start when Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness, who are on their way to the guild, are brainwashed by Verdia, who has inexplicably come BackFromTheDead. Kazuma, running late from doing chores that Aqua forced him to do, arrives just in time to see his party members being taken away from Verdia. Kazuma decides to wait until they starve, until he finds out that they've been causing havoc in the countryside. Now facing an even larger debt than before, Kazuma sets out to save his teammates.

Fukkatsu no Beldia is a love letter to 8-bit and 16-bit platformers, the VideoGame/MegaManClassic and X games in particular, along with some RPG elements. Kazuma can slash and shoot his way through enemies, as well as use magic skills on them. Guild quests can be taken on during levels, and completing them will grant Eris, which Kazuma can use to buy magic skills and items.

The game was packaged with the first Blu-Ray and DVD volume of the anime.

!Fukkatsu no Beldia provides wxamples of these tropes:
* BackFromTheDead: Verdia.
* BigBad: Verdia, who kidnapped Kazuma's party members and uses them to cause mayhem outside of town.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Kazuma's party members are all brainwashed by Verdia as part of his revenge.
* LifeDrain: Steal takes away the health of any enemies hit by it and gives it to Kazuma, along with some magic.
* MoneySpider: Enemies drop Eris when they're defeated.
* OminousOwl: They show up in Darkness' level, swooping down to attack Kazuma.
* SwordBeam: Kazuma's default attack. By charging it, he can make the beam bigger, more powerful, and longer lasting.
* ATasteOfPower: In the opening level, Kazuma has access to the Create Water, Freeze, and Steal skills. At the end of the level, Verdia appears and steals them from him, forcing him to buy them at the guild.
* TookALevelInBadass:
** Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness are all more competent now thanks to Verdia's magical empowerment.
** Their abilities are also more powerful. For example, Megumin can use her Explosion powers more than once a day, and her vegetative state lasts a lot shorter.
