on second thought, the trope requires proof that the work was mistaken for a parody, so it's been cut

* PoesLaw: The game could either be stereotypical, or it could be seen as a {{Satire}} embracing its vapidness. Its habit of encouraging stereotypical behaviors while occasionally [[LampshadeHanging hanging lampshades]] with NPC background chatter may land it as an IndecisiveParody.

moved from the main page, but rewritten to be as neutral as possible and without Flame Bait or YMMV tropes

If your money, confidence, or energy fall below certain levels, a message will pop up to fuss at you for needing more (and often suggest you pay real money to refill it faster, of course). Certain stores won't let you in to shop and certain guys won't date you if you're not popular enough for them, and some parties won't let you in unless you're both popular ''and'' dressed to the nines.

* CriticalAnnoyance: If your energy, confidence, or money get too low, the game will pop up a message telling you so. When you dismiss it, the game will then give you ''another'' message suggesting you [[BribingYourWayToVictory pay real money to refill it faster]].

* LevelScaling: When you go to a party, you'll always find a set of girls who are fairly close to you in terms of level, outfit hotness, number of clique members, and closet size. This is to keep players from simply getting hot clothes from their high-level friends and then devastating the first-level parties.

* LevelGrinding: The Rival Revenge showdowns make a pretty good form. Beating one rival gets you a small amount of cash and experience, and beating a set of ten at once gets you a bonus amount of each. Often, this amount of combined experience is enough to push you over the next level. Showdowns take away your confidence, but rivals tend to take less than random showdowns on the street or at parties, and each level up refills it, meaning you can grind through ''another'' ten rivals who will level you up once again and thus refill your confidence again. Lather, rinse, repeat ''ad nausium''.

* DifficultButAwesome: The million-dollar ring at Athena's Jewels is worth 150 hotness points, more than just about ''any'' other game item and ''certainly'' more than any other item that can be found in the area. It's also fairly small and there are also very few rings overall, meaning you can wear it with just about any outfit you want. ''However'', actually ''getting'' that million dollars without BribingYourWayToVictory would quite literally take ''years'' to accomplish, so have fun.

* TeaserEquipment: Ostara's Gems is available to shop at from pretty much the start of the game, but the $5,000 diamond ring probably won't be a viable purchase option for a few dozen levels.

* HundredPercentCompletion: Finding all the items for sale at a single store will get you another article of clothing that can't be bought anywhere. Buying all the items for sale at a single store will get you yet another.
* [[ABoyAndHisX A Girl and Her Dog]]: You can adopt a puppy if you wish. They come in three breeds (Yorkshire, bichon, and a brown-and-white mutt) and have various predetermined names.
* AndYourRewardIsClothes: Pretty much the point of the game.
* BribingYourWayToVictory: While plenty can be done for free, there's ''a lot'' of stores that can't even be ''entered'' without paying real money (sometimes on the order of $10 or more for ''a single store''), and every store carries a "couture" line that can only be bought with real money (again, on the order of several US dollars for a single item). You can also buy clique members to give yourself an advantage in showdowns.
* CashGate: While not required for advancement, you have to pay large sums of money to open certain stores (in many cases ''more than a car'' - assuming you can even open the store with game currency instead of having to pay real money), and then you have to fork over ''more'' money to buy what's inside the store.
* CharacterLevel: Just about any action (finding clothes, buying clothes, winning showdowns) will result in experience points which will eventually result in a level up. Each level up will refill your energy and confidence, as well as add one or two points to the total.
* CosmeticAward: Puppies. They do nothing but follow you around and look cute.
* MoneyForNothing: Every real-life hour earns you a certain amount of money based on your current level. However, because the point of the game is to ''buy everything in sight'', you can usually find something to spend it on (whether or not you actually ''want'' it).
* MoneySink: Certain articles of clothing cost a few thousand dollars to buy but do not have an equally-high number of hotness points, meaning that buying them is as much about completion as it is actually finding articles you want to wear.
* LastLousyPoint: If a store sells thirty items, and you've found twenty-nine, have fun finding that last lousy shirt!
* LevelLockedLoot: Somewhat zigzagged. While you can't ''buy'' items until you're a certain level, if you ''find'' a high-level item (such as from a higher-leveled friend), nothing is stopping you from wearing it (despite the image of the item in your closet displaying a padlock and saying "Unlocks at level 127").
* LuckBasedMission: Rummaging through clothing racks at the store, particularly when you're trying to complete a store's collection and only need one or two more items. Apparently, on any given day, a rack that looks like it holds a half-dozen various items in fact only contains one shirt, and if you've already got that one, too bad for you.
* RainbowPimpGear: Unfortunately, to max out your hotness points in any given style of clothing, you'll probably end up wearing something like a yellow polka dot minidress with a purple plaid cardigan, metallic silver tights, grey zebra-striped leg warmers, white socks, blue shoes, pink earrings, gold bracelets, a green necklace, and carrying an orange purse. While absolutely no one would ever even begin to think such an outfit is remotely "hot" or fashionable in any context, the game awards far more points to this than to a simple, coordinated outfit that actually looks good to a human observer.
* RandomlyGeneratedLoot: Rummaging through a store's clothing racks will bring up one of the several different articles sold by that establishment. Unfortunately, finding the one you ''actually want'' is a LuckBasedMission.
* TeaserEquipment: Ostara's Gems is available to shop at from pretty much the start of the game, but the $5,000 diamond ring probably won't be a viable purchase option for a few dozen levels.
