Announced by Nintendo during the Nintendo Switch Presentation on January 12, 2017, ''Fire Emblem Warriors'' takes the gameplay of ''VideoGame/DynastyWarriors'' and gives it a ''Fire Emblem'' theme, similar to sister game ''VideoGame/HyruleWarriors'' being modeled off of ''Franchise/TheLegendOfZelda''.

* ICallItVera: In Owain and Niles' support, Niles asks Owain for help in naming the sword Prince Leo gave him. Owain suggests "The Nightmare Sword of Gloom" because he thinks it should have a "dark" name to go with it.

* WeaponOfChoice: Each character is restricted to one type of weapon, but on the other hand, they can wield any non-character exclusive weapon of that type. These unique weapons, like Corrin and her brothers' legendary weapons and Falchions wielded by Marth, Chrom and Lucina, have their damage values scale with their users; while they may be lacking in raw damage output, they make up for it with a large amount of slots to place skills in, as well as being upgrade with Scrolls and Opusus via Mastery and Sanctuary Crests, respectively.

Up To Eleven is a defunct trope

* UpToEleven: The base game allows for unlocked personal weapons and 5-star Brave weapons to reach 240 attack power. The DLC expansions introduce the Hero line of weapons and another artifact to further strengthen personal weapons up to 720 attack power.
** It's possible to focus on a single warrior and level them up, gaining relevant crests and a combination of powerful skills to make them a force to be reckoned with. Any time you don't have your main character, you'll feel the difference, and once you do have them, you'll likely be tearing forts down in seconds.

* RecycledScript: History Mode as a whole is this. Additionally, a small amount of the support conversations are recycled from previous conversations. Lucina and Lissa's is similar to the C-Support with Lucina's sibling, and Marth and Caeda's is their first and second base conversations from ''New Mystery of the Emblem''.

* DifficultySpike:
** There's a spike in difficulty in Chapter 5 once a brainwashed Robin enters the map as an enemy. The first thing to note is that he makes a beeline for Chrom, who you need to keep alive to prevent a GameOver and probably can't handle Robin on his own due to a terrible Resistance stat. The second thing to note is that Robin comes with support from another mage, which makes fighting him more difficult than previous boss enemies since you have to deal with both at once.
** Chapter 13 starts you off being hounded by the brainwashed Corrin, Ryoma and Xander -- all of whom are powered-up to insane levels and can kill anyone in a matter of seconds -- while you're given the task of capturing forts. You're also restricted to a four-man party with no AI support.
** Any map with Oboro will typically be fairly tough due to Oboro's insane defense, and considering how early in the game she is an opponent (on a timed mission no less), she can be a serious hassle.
** Getting Anna's Memento during [[spoiler:the rematch with Darios]] can be infuriating once you realize you can't force him to flinch and he deals way more damage. The reason: you cannot finish any side objectives.
