The Army of the Czech Republic (Czech: ''Armáda České Republiky'') comprise the land forces, the Czech Air Force and support units. From the late 1940s to 1989, the extensive Czechoslovak Armed Forces (about 200,000) formed one of the pillars of the Warsaw Pact military alliance. After the dissolution of Czechoslovakia, the Czech Republic is completing a major reorganization and reduction of the armed forces, which intensified after the Czech Republic joined NATO on 12 March 1999

* A staple in the ''Wargame'' series, where their somewhat more diverse lineup rounds out the Warpac minors, contrasting with the simple-and-straightforward East Germans and the infantry-heavy Poles. The Czechs, for instance, are the only Warsaw Pact country to equip its infantry with the Vz 58 instead of a Kalashnikov variant, and to use the single-shot RPG-75 instead of the RPG-7.

* The popular ''Videogame/{{Arma}}'' series is made by a Czech company aptly named Bohemia Interactive Studio. As a tribute to the men and women of their country's armed forces, and to their Czech fans, they included the Czech military in the second game's expansion pack ''Operation Arrowhead''. Later they released a DLC titled "Army of the Czech Republic" that expanded on this even further, adding more Czech units and vehicles and giving them their own single-player campaign.
