* '''Name:''' Nicodemus Archelone

* '''Work of Origin:''' {{Literature/The Dresden Files}}

* '''Age:''' >2000, looks to be in late 40s

* '''Appearance:''' ''[[https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/vsbattles/images/9/92/Coin_Tentacle.png/revision/latest?cb=20190314200059 The devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.]]''

* '''Personality:''' Nicodemus is a classy, long-term thinking, malicious sociopath. He dreams big and creates big plans that span hundreds of years in timeline, with incremental goals along the way for profit or mayhem. A leader of a clan of Denarians — people who have agreed to become hosts for fallen angels — he's almost like a crusader against God. He seeks to disrupt and unleash chaos against the ordered world of man on a grand scale, though for what purpose besides simply strengthening himself and pursuing his own ideals is unknown. His own beliefs are that people who follow gods or "good" in general are buffoons at best and instead follows his own path towards what he believes is salvation, partnering with fallen angels to aid him in exchange for giving into their hellish nature. \\
\\
He's an affable man, and is usually not taken towards simple violence when unprovoked (though he doesn't object to it to say the least), though anyone who gets in his way or provokes his ire he becomes very malevolent towards very quickly. He is intelligent, meticulous, patient, and incredibly careful. He plays a long-game, and even when his plans blow up he has usually not lost much, and has gained at least something. He cares more for his ideals than material gain, and is very willing to sacrifice others to achieve his goals. He's superficially charming, grandiose, manipulative, and incapable of love, empathy, or remorse. Despite being evil, he tries to avoid 'stupid evil' tropes, and has clearly read the Evil Overlord List. He treats his employees...nominally well and tries to feed into their desires rather than driving them away with senseless bad boss behavior, and is always good to his word, at least to the letter. \\
\\
While he's superficially amicable towards individuals who are not in his way, on a grander scheme he makes it a point to make massive, tragic strikes against entire civilizations — not so much being kind to normal people as he is simply unconcerned with them when he could be targeting much larger prey instead, a man with a plan instead of a rabid animal. He typically makes his grander moves through corruption or through massive plagues, of which he is a great weaver of (the Black Plague was apparently his creation, for example). \\
\\
Unless for the sake of a larger plan, he prefers to stay in the background, using his words as his foremost tool to tempt people into forgoing their ideals, or growing even worse if they are already somewhat villainous. He just looooooves being a conversationalist.

* '''Backstory:''' At some point as a man in days past, Nicodemus agreed to partner himself with the Fallen Angel Anduriel — not be tempted into service, but full on agreed to cooperate in a partnership from the start, which is rare for Fallen Angel hosts. From then, all records of him are murky at best; he makes it an effort to destroy the records of himself every few centuries. What is known is that he spends his time with several other Denarians and leading their Order of the Blackened Denarius, staying seemingly out of the spotlight for centuries at a time only to pop up briefly to do something terrible such as the aforementioned Black Plague, and probably other several plagues throughout history as they're a favorite of his. \\
\\
He's always been in eternal conflict with the Knights of the Cross, an order of knights who use three particular holy swords to combat evil and Nicodemus' Order, and frequently clashes with them. Most of the time he overpowers them personally, having a point to make against them and their ilk, though at times he's been thwarted by them. They've never gotten him personally, but most of his crew has been killed off at various points, forcing him to spend a century or two rebuilding them. The Knights are far from his only opponents, either; a lot of others have fought him throughout the ages as well, in a two millennia long game of back and forth setbacks and profits. \\
\\
At some point he was wedded in unholy matrimony with his wife, Tessa, and they had a single daughter, Deirdre. Tessa currently operates on the other side of the world with her own followers, but Deirdre stayed with dear old dad. Both of them are also Denarians, and his daughter is his second-in-command. \\
\\
Nick is currently residing in Emerald City because 1) there's a large and flourishing biotech sector (useful for making plagues), 2) there are a plethora of strong candidates for Fallen Angel hosts, and 3) what better way to kick of the next Dark Age than to bring low the world's shining city on a hill? Over the last decade, he's gradually wormed his way into the local and state political world through his 501(c)(3) charitable organization, the Tiberian Foundation, his Super PAC, the Society for a Better Tomorrow, and the judicious application of blackmail.

* '''Secret Identity:''' Nick Silver
** '''Cover:''' Although he comes from old money, Nick Silver is an avid and slightly eccentric philanthropist, originally from the U.K., who zealously pursues the good of his fellow man. It is in this capacity that he became known to the local bigwigs, by either schmoozing with them at parties or donating generous sums of money to further their political careers.

* '''Skills:'''
** '''Grandmaster Swordsman:''' He's spent a lot of time over the past two thousand years practicing his swordsmanship, and once every few years makes it a point to test himself against the best of the best. He's nearly peerless in his field, with only a few throughout history being able to tie with him.
** '''Other Martial Abilities:''' Skilled in fisticuffs. As for modern weaponry, he probably knows how to at least use it though he's not nearly as good as he is with a sword.

* '''Powers:'''
** '''Agelessness:''' Your basic, unaging immortality power.
** '''General Knowledge:''' His Fallen Angel, Anduriel, possesses vast reservoirs of cosmic knowledge from existing prior to the Earth's creation, which he can share with his host.
** '''Rapid Regeneration:''' As long as he wears Judas' Noose, he can regenerate from any manner of wound extremely rapidly with no ill effect. However, the noose can also be used against him, as it does not protect the bearer against damage from itself.
** '''Ritual Magic, Plague Specialization:''' He doesn't have much in the way of magical power, but what he does have is solely devoted to disease-centered rituals. In smaller form, with some preparation and a source of energy to draw from, he can infect someone with all variety of lethal diseases; however, this is not a combat skill, as it requires him to set up a ritual around the stationary victim to use it and to do so for some time. On a larger scale, it's possible for him to create full on epidemics and plagues. To do so, he must have a massive source of energy to draw from, at least a day's effort of ritual set up, expensive materials, and a place to spread it from. Any large rituals will be cleared with the GM first before attempting.
** '''Sense Control and Perfect Recall:''' Anduriel can control his host's senses, for example enhancing his vision to allow him to see in the dark, enhancing his hearing to allow him to hear fainter sounds clearly, or cutting off his sense of pain. Anduriel also perfectly remembers everything his host experiences and can bring any memory to the forefront of his host's mind if he wishes.
** '''Shadow Control:''' His main combat power is that he can control his own shadow, making it gargantuan in size, bringing it into physical form to impale people on/smack them around with/crush people/shield himself/etc, a morphable weapon. It can stretch pretty far (no exact numbers there) but he can't just throw it far out instantly and he still needs to see what's going on where it's at to actually direct it, so it's not useful after medium range. However, Anduriel can possess his shadow and operate independently if he chooses.
*** '''Flight:''' His shadow can form into wings, giving him the ability of flight. He can go faster than his ability to move on the ground in flight, approximately twice as fast.
*** '''Shadow Camouflage:''' He can cover himself in shadow to give him a form of camouflage, though it won't completely get rid of his form. That, combined with a large shadow being pretty conspicuous in most situations, means it's mainly for use in places already heavy with shadows or darkness, and for concealing his identity.
*** '''Magic/Energy Drain:''' If he can land it, he can attach his shadow to things or people to drain energy or magic from them, and generally tucker opponents out.
** '''Shadow Scrying:''' He and Anduriel can see and hear through any living thing's shadow across the entire planet. They have to know which one they wish to look through to allow this to take effect, they can't just try focusing on them all. Scrying can be blocked by beings with sufficient supernatural abilities who take active precautions.
** '''Superhuman Strength and Speed:''' Capable of lifting at maximum a couple of tons. He can move as fast as a car speeding on the interstate, has a superhuman reaction time, and can especially accelerate very quickly.
** '''Weak to Holy:''' Extremely weak to holy-based magic and powers. Also, if he steps foot into holy ground of any kind, his powers go away while he's there and he feels immensely uncomfortable.

* '''Equipment:'''
** '''Anduriel's Coin:''' a Blackened Denarius bearing the spirit of the Fallen Angel Anduriel. Nicodemus always keeps it somewhere on his person. If he gives up the coin (willingly), he will lose all his supernatural powers, except those conferred by his other equipment.
** '''Blackened Denarii:''' The thirty [[https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/2b/Emperor_Tiberius_Denarius_-_Tribute_Penny.jpg pieces of silver]] Judas accepted to betray Jesus, which have since had the spirits of various Fallen Angels imprisoned within them, who gradually corrupt their hosts into terrible instruments of evil. Nicodemus is in possession of a dozen of them, not counting his own coin and Deirdre's coin. He doesn't carry them with him regularly, though. The coins generally confer shapeshifting powers and abilities akin to Nicodemus' own, sans speed and shadow powers. They cannot be forced on their bearers and must be taken up willingly.
** '''Judas' Noose:''' An artifact which confers fast-acting regeneration to the bearer, Nicodemus wears it at virtually all times. However, the bearer is not protected from damage by the noose itself, which can be tightened by proper application of force.

* '''Holdings:'''
** '''A Compound In The Forests East of Town:''' Where most of his underlings live and train. Comes complete with an airstrip and heli-landing pads. Equipped with a large armory, a plane, and a personnel carrier chopper.
** '''A Spacious Mansion In Duwamish:''' Where he and his daughter live the high life. Contains his sword collection and a high-security underground vault. Attended to by several servants, also members of his cult. Also contains a heli-landing pad.
** '''Deirdre Archelone:''' His daughter, also a Denarian. Can shapeshift into a hardy, superhumanly strong, Gorgon-like battle form immune to small-arms fire, with prehensile hair that can be used to grab things or cut through things using a razor-sharp edge.
** '''Order of the Blackened Denarius:''' Composed of Denarians (currently just himself and Deirdre; Tesssa and hers are on the other side of the planet) and members of a cult worshiping the Denarians. Cult members have their tongues removed as a final initiation, and so are used to communicating non-verbally. Members are trained to be the equivalent of Special Operations Forces, and possess various skills such as helicopter piloting, demolitions, marksmanship, etc.
** '''Vast Material Wealth:''' Earned through millennia of effort and trickery.

* '''Notoriety:''' Nick Silver's name and appearance qualify as a 3 (occasionally mentioned in the news), except to prominent corporate executives, City Council members, and the Mayor. Nicodemus Archelone's name is also a 1, except among the longer-lived members of the magical community, to whom he would be an 8 or 9. Only the upper echelons of the magical community or those he has dealt with him before know what face to associate with the name Nicodemus.

*'''Secret Identity:''' Nick Silver
**'''Cover:''' Although he comes from old money, Nick Silver is an avid and slightly eccentric philanthropist, originally from the U.K., who zealously pursues the good of his fellow man. It is in this capacity that he became known to the local bigwigs, by either schmoozing with them at parties or donating generous sums of money to further their political careers.

*'''Skills:'''
**'''Grandmaster Swordsman:''' He's spent a lot of time over the past two thousand years practicing his swordsmanship, and once every few years makes it a point to test himself against the best of the best. He's nearly peerless in his field, with only a few throughout history being able to tie with him.
**'''Other Martial Abilities:''' Skilled in fisticuffs. As for modern weaponry, he probably knows how to at least use it though he's not nearly as good as he is with a sword.

*'''Powers:'''
**'''Agelessness:''' Your basic, unaging immortality power.
**'''General Knowledge:''' His Fallen Angel, Anduriel, possesses vast reservoirs of cosmic knowledge from existing prior to the Earth's creation, which he can share with his host.
**'''Rapid Regeneration:''' As long as he wears Judas' Noose, he can regenerate from any manner of wound extremely rapidly with no ill effect. However, the noose can also be used against him, as it does not protect the bearer against damage from itself.
**'''Ritual Magic, Plague Specialization:''' He doesn't have much in the way of magical power, but what he does have is solely devoted to disease-centered rituals.
**'''Sense Control and Perfect Recall:''' Anduriel can control his host's senses, for example enhancing his vision to allow him to see in the dark, enhancing his hearing to allow him to hear fainter sounds clearly, or cutting off his sense of pain. Anduriel also perfectly remembers everything his host experiences and can bring any memory to the forefront of his host's mind if he wishes.
**'''Shadow Control:''' His main combat power is that he can control his own shadow, making it gargantuan in size, bringing it into physical form to impale people on/smack them around with/crush people/shield himself/etc, a morphable weapon. It can stretch pretty far (no exact numbers there) but he can't just throw it far out instantly and he still needs to see what's going on where it's at to actually direct it, so it's not useful after medium range. However, Anduriel can possess his shadow and operate independently if he chooses.
***'''Flight:''' His shadow can form into wings, giving him the ability of flight. He can go faster than his ability to move on the ground in flight, approximately twice as fast.
***'''Shadow Camouflage:''' He can cover himself in shadow to give him a form of camouflage, though it won't completely get rid of his form. That, combined with a large shadow being pretty conspicuous in most situations, means it's mainly for use in places already heavy with shadows or darkness, and for concealing his identity.
***'''Magic/Energy Drain:''' If he can land it, he can attach his shadow to things or people to drain energy or magic from them, and generally tuckering opponents out.
**'''Shadow Scrying:''' He and Anduriel can see and hear through any living thing's shadow across the entire planet. They have to know which one they wish to look through to allow this to take effect, they can't just try focusing on them all. Scrying can be blocked by beings with sufficient supernatural abilities who take active precautions.
**'''Superhuman Strength and Speed:''' Capable of lifting at maximum a couple of tons. He can move as fast as a car speeding on the interstate, has a superhuman reaction time, and can especially accelerate very quickly.
**'''Weak to Holy:''' Extremely weak to holy-based magic and powers. Also, if he steps foot into holy ground of any kind, his powers go away while he's there and he feels immensely uncomfortable.

*'''Equipment:'''
**'''Anduriel's Coin:''' a Blackened Denarius bearing the spirit of the Fallen Angel Anduriel. Nicodemus always keeps it somewhere on his person. If he gives up the coin, he will lose all his supernatural powers, except those conferred by his other equipment.
**'''Blackened Denarii:''' The thirty [[https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/2b/Emperor_Tiberius_Denarius_-_Tribute_Penny.jpg pieces of silver]] Judas accepted to betray Jesus, which have since had the spirits of various Fallen Angels imprisoned within them. Nicodemus is in possession of a dozen of them, not counting his own coin and Deirdre's coin. He doesn't carry them with him regularly, though.
**'''Judas' Noose:''' An artifact which confers fast-acting regeneration to the bearer, Nicodemus wears it at virtually all times. However, the bearer is not protected from damage by the noose itself, which can be tightened by proper application of force.

*'''Holdings:'''
**'''A Compound In The Forests East of Town:''' Where most of his underlings live and train. Comes complete with an airstrip and heli-landing pads. Equipped with a large armory, a plane, and a personnel carrier chopper.
**'''A Spacious Mansion In Duwamish:''' Where he and his daughter live the high life. Contains his sword collection and a high-security underground vault. Attended to by several servants, also members of his cult. Also contains a heli-landing pad.
**'''Deirdre Archelone:''' His daughter, also a Denarian. Can shapeshift into a hardy, superhumanly strong, Gorgon-like battle form immune to small-arms fire, with prehensile hair that can be used to grab things or cut through things using a razor-sharp edge.
**'''Order of the Blackened Denarius:''' Composed of Denarians (currently just himself and Deirdre; Tesssa and hers are on the other side of the planet) and members of a cult worshiping the Denarians. Cult members have their tongues removed as a final initiation, and so are used to communicating non-verbally. Members are trained to be the equivalent of Special Operations Forces, and possess various skills such as helicopter piloting, demolitions, marksmanship, etc.
**'''Vast Material Wealth:''' Earned through millennia of effort and trickery.

*'''Notoriety:''' Nick Silver's name and appearance qualify as a 3 (occasionally mentioned in the news), except to prominent corporate executives, City Council members, and the Mayor. Nicodemus Archelone's name is also a 1, except among the longer-lived members of the magical community, to whom he would be an 8 or 9. Only the upper echelons of the magical community or those he has dealt with him before know what face to associate with the name Nicodemus.

"Have you gone mad?" my illusion says to the one-armed woman standing in the sky, "I never would have imagined that the Secret Mobile Corps, much less its Supreme Commander, would face me head-on. 'Do not seek out beauty in battle. Do not seek out virtue in death. Do not think of your life as your own. If you desire to protect that which must be protected, then cut down your enemy from behind.' Even regular Shinigami learn this at the Spirit Art Academy, the Secret Mobile Corps even more so."

"To think that a lowly traitor would recite Shinigami lessons," the woman, Soifon, retorts, and I know she wears a smirk that is more bravado than confidence, "It makes me laugh."

"I once taught those lessons, you know."

"And it was those incompetent fools at the Central 46 who allowed you to do so. That's why they had the wool pulled over their eyes by a traitor."

"You should not speak ill of the dead," I rejoin languidly via my illusion, which stands in the space across from her, "and as for having the wool pulled over their eyes, the same goes for all of you, doesn't it?"

"There's a surprise." Her glare intensifies, and she tenses in an utterly obvious way that telegraphs her intention, a theatrical behavior seemingly shared among most of the so-called 'elite' of the Gotei 13. "Do you think you pulled the wool over ''my eyes''?" Without appearing to move from the spot, a slightly blurred image of her appears a few feet to her left. Then another to her right. Then one above her, and so on and so forth, until the air in her vicinity is filled with about a dozen additional Soifons, all identical, all thirsting to kill me and somehow prove that she was not, in fact, fooled as thoroughly and completely as everyone else in Soul Society.

Though they are utterly pointless against me in practice and will therefore avail her nothing, the copies are a technically impressive feat, and in acknowledgement of her small accomplishment, I deign to have my illusion say so. "Clones? They're quite a spectacle. Very well made."

"It's an honor to receive your words," she replies, doubtless with a smug little smile, "The Secret Mobile Corps isn't the kind of job where you get praised for showy displays. And as a show of my gratitude--" With predictable timing, Soifon and her clones surge forward, flickering through the air toward 'me' with all the speed and grace of Soul Society's foremost assassin. "''I'll use this spectacle to finish you off!''"

My illusion begins to raise his sword arm in response, likely to cut the Captain of Squad Two down like the useless bug that she is, but suddenly, the limb is encased in a massive sheet of ice! Tenth Division Captain Toshiro Hitsugaya has saved his comrade from a grisly death by bisection, firing up an arctic wave out of his zanpakutou from below. The moment embodies something I had been beginning to think I would never see out of my opponents, who had seemed intent on coming after me one at a time: actual teamwork. Bravo, bravo! Encore! I start a slow clap from an entirely safe distance away where I am reclining on the ground, though they can neither see nor hear my appreciation, as I have chosen to block it from their senses, much like the shouting of Ichigo Kurosaki as he notices something is amiss from considerably further away.

The immediately following events are quite easy to foresee. With 'my' arm frozen in place at just the right moment, Soifon appears to hit her mark with the stinger attached to her remaining arm. A rather artistic imprint of a black ink butterfly seems to blossom into being on 'my' torso. "''Nigeki Kessatsu''," she intones, rapidly moving her hand back for a second strike. The air is silent for a beat. She's done it, hasn't she?

"...'Two-Hit Certain Kill'? What an interesting skill." My double's lips curve in amusement, and I can envision Soifon's eyes widening considerably. "However, it won't work."

"Wha...?!"

"Shinigami battles are battles of reiatsu," 'I' explain something she should know very well already. Perhaps she flunked out of that class and her precious Yoruichi swooped in to save her. I increase the feeling of pressure and weight in the air around Soifon, in a convincing simulation of what happens when I actually flex my spiritual muscles. "Using my reiatsu, I will suppress the entirety of your technique's pathetic ability." The horror! The Supreme Commander of the Secret Mobile Corps is done for! May she rest in peace.

But wait! Suddenly, a scimitar plunges through 'my' villainous middle from behind! The eyes of my illusion rove up and around in an appropriately strained reaction. "...''What''...?"

"You were careless," Captain Shunsui Kyouraku of the Eighth Division says, withdrawing his blade back in an ugly exit wound and emerging from the glacier that had encased part of 'my' body, "You cast a shadow on the ice." Yes, yes, I am very careless. Much less careless than yourself or your comrades, whose five senses are under my absolute control. Well done, Kyouraku.

"...Damn you..." 'I' wheeze, craning 'my' neck to look back at him.

"It's over, Aizen," Toshiro says with a particular sense of finality, then surges forward, seeking to meet his blade to my heart. At this especially, I smile. ''You truly are young. You see a chance for victory and you leap to attack without any kind of plan. This is your greatest weakness, Captain Hitsugaya.''

Then, however, out of the corner of my eye, I spy Shinji Hirako standing a fairly short distance away, spinning his blade by that stupid-looking ring attached to the hilt. ''Shit! It's backwards!'' That damnable grinning bastard with an atrocious mug must have activated his power to reverse the mind's sense of direction while I wasn't looking. At this I feel a surge of genuine irritation as my incredible masterstroke is degraded into... well, still a masterstroke, just slightly less poetic. I console myself with the notion that their reactions will still be as extreme and entertaining as they would have been otherwise. Probably.

You see, this entire time, my enemies have actually been focusing their attacks not on myself, but on poor, confused Momo Hinamori, whose senses I have in turn controlled in order to position her ''just'' so. Momo, sweet girl, was my former Vice-Captain, back before I openly betrayed the entirety of Soul Society. I had faked my death in order to operate more easily, and Momo, distraught over the loss of her mentor and father-figure, had searched high and low for the culprit behind my apparent murder, who for a time she believed to be her beloved childhood friend, Captain Hitsugaya. Needless to say, she was overjoyed when Gin Ichimaru led her to me and she discovered I was alive. I thanked her for her dedication, then ran her through the middle with my sword and left her to bleed to death. She was rather tragic, really. I was sure she was so attached to me that she would never recover from my betrayal, so you could say the attempted murder was a sort of mercy, though Toshiro was rather ''upset'' when I attempted to broach the idea with him.

Imagine my surprise when, instead of remaining permanently psychologically broken, Momo showed up on the field of battle in this facsimile of Karakura Town that the Gotei had chosen to fight me above. It was absolutely fantastic! Now I could force Toshiro to relive that moment of agony all over again. Only, this time it would be worse, since it would be by his own hand. Indeed, as his zanpakutou plunged bloodily through the chest of his poor, defenseless love interest, my only regret was that he was doing it from behind rather than from the front, so he wouldn't be staring directly into her eyes when the illusion was broken.

''Fuck you, Shinji.''

I would let them think they had won at long last for another minute or so, I decided as the Shinigami rabble in the first aid camp I had imposed myself into began to cheer wildly. Idly, I let my eyes wander to the clouds above, as the Kurosaki boy began to shout at their unhearing ears with more fervor. ''Hmmm, that one looks kind of like a rabbit.''

------------

With no warning whatsoever, the fluffy white rabbit vanishes, and the clouds above me shift to completely new ones. From the change in the ground's texture and the shifted pressure of gravity, I gather that I am lying on a grassy hillside rather than a medical blanket. There is a faint, mechanical noise coming from behind me, perhaps a rotor. The reiatsu of the Captains and their underlings has utterly vanished, a quick scan of the sky confirming that they are visually absent as well, and though I am immediately aware of one strong spiritual presence close behind me, it is of a type I am unfamiliar with. It is much more akin to a Quincy or a Bount's reiatsu than anything else, but it is again something else entirely. Although I sense no particular threat, I conceal my reiatsu anyway -- it never hurts -- and then I focus and extend my spiritual awareness into a much wider area.

Somewhere far off to my right are a set of somethings that feel much akin to Mod Souls, but nothing else. Behind me are the presence I mentioned earlier, followed a considerable distance by a bewildering array of other spiritual pressures, none of them familiar in the abstract or personal sense, except one: Rukia Kuchiki. ''Now that's strange. Didn't I leave her trapped in Las Noches?'' No matter. Fortunately, keeping track of her shall be child's play with the way she seems to be freely allowing her reiatsu to flow, so I shall simply keep my own concealed and avoid her while I puzzle together what is going on. Speaking of which, a rather interesting conversation is happening behind me.

[[quoteblock]]"You're going to have to be more specific than that if you want a definitive answer. Though correlating your action and current mood as well as the fact you personally sought me out after manhandling one of these darling Pikgirls... Then yes, I alone have breathed life into this new race. Do they not tickle the aesthetics with their wonderful appearance and child-like curiosity that so endears them to the masses?"

"Now, if you were coming to me because you thought I was doing this to simply get a rise out of you... then your self-importance is much too high. While it is true that your... process sparked quite a bit of inspiration in my approaches, the Pikgirls came into being because 'Cute Is Justice'. They do have a tendency to flock about natural leaders though at the very least so you have some charisma at the very least."

"Does that answer your question?"

"Yes they're adorable. You used magic, correct? Their curiosity, not so much. You made them. Then tell me how to stop them from crawling all over me and trying to carry me away!"

"In general, yes. To be more specific, it's alchemy. Turning one thing into another such as lead to gold... but those are mere parlor tricks for one such as I. As for these little ones... they were created after I tinkered around with their production centers a little. It's safer to say I forcibly evoked evolution in an already existing species rather than creating one whole-cloth. Other than an appearance change as well as a little intelligence boost, they're about the same as regular Pikmins from which they sprang from. Their instincts revolve around protecting and following sentient leader type organisms that aren't hostile to them as a species so they must have taken you as a potential candidate for leading them. You have to lead through certain tells at first before they pick up enough mannerisms to get truly trained. I have a training manual if you want something to kill the time."

"Hmm... I would like to see that manual. Give it to me. And you said you changed whatever it is that creates them? Could you do more? And what exactly are the 'production centers'? Some sort of respawning point?"

"I'll make a How To Book on Pikmin leadership later. It's not something I've yet written down yet since most other people already knew how to command the Pikpeople. Yes, they spawn out of strangely mechanical things dubbed Onions. Like a tripod with propellers built into them so that they can fly away from potential predators. Fascinating things that seed the earth with new Pikmin when given proper nutrition. As for the genetic tinkering, I could probably perform more given the time but going too fast due to haste would be bothersome for the little ones. I don't perform such acts until I'm positively sure that there won't be lingering repercussions that come about due to the changes."

"...What? Do you want something, child?"

"This might be a bit confusing but... well, you're now in another world different from your own."

"Oh, uh..."

There is a beastly roar, followed by the sound of crackling flame. '''"Stay."'''

"Good. Only a stupid ruler ignores something helpful. I want to know everything about them. So it's possible, but will take them? Fine. Then come work for me. You will be my right hand, and magical advisor of the new Koopa Kingdom!"

"Ho, it seems you are actually royalty after all. Very boisterous and commanding at the least. Well, if you're going to hire me, what's the benefits package I can look toward to? Free dental, prepaid vacation days, hourly wage?"

"Eh!?"

"Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!?"

"A-another world? What is this place? How did we get here?"

"And as for your question... we are in the Frontiers, a new world born from the desires of a deity that had good intentions but unsound logic. We are here mostly by accident and we can't go home for an unspecified amount of time until the nascent soul that is currently gestating in this realm awakens from slumber, with its ego being fed directly by our various actions and interactions. All in all I'll say that this sounds like the sort of thing that would result in a giant raid battle once that comes into fruition but that's neither here nor there."[[/quoteblock]]

-->Get a page you damned lazy. -Regards, [[{{@/Fauxlosophe}} Faux]].\\\\

* '''Personality''': Aizen is a polite, soft-spoken intellectual, often addressing his subordinates by their given names. He rarely shows any sign of alarm or distress, and often has entire situations planned out well in advance. Whenever confronted, Aizen is casual and uncaring, attempting to draw out a conversation and make small talk, which often infuriates those he is talking to. \\
\\
Although for many years he took on the facade of a very kind, well-respected captain of the Gotei 13, this was just a mask to disguise his machiavellian and exceedingly dangerous nature. In truth, he cares very little for his underlings, and is willing to use everyone around him as pawns to achieve his goals. He will stop at nothing to further his ambitions, including manipulating or killing anyone if he deems it to be necessary. He frequently toys with his underlings for amusement, controlling them through acquired respect or fear and keeping more difficult ones in line through intimidation and mind games. \\
\\
Aizen's primary aim is to overthrow Soul Society because he feels personally affronted by a system that he considers corrupt and abhorrent after witnessing its true nature, not least because of the "thing" referred to as the "Soul King". Having said that, his ambitions are far from noble, and he also desires to lay waste to Soul Society and rule the world because he possesses an enormous superiority/god complex. Although he would hardly admit as much even to himself, however, Aizen is a very lonely individual whose gifts, intellectual and otherwise, have left him feeling isolated from others ever since he was a young child.

* '''Backstory''': Sousuke Aizen was born exceptional. Not necessarily in wealth or status, no, but he had an intellect far and away beyond his peers, and spiritual power in spades. And, unlike his peers, he was not content to only cruise through the Shinigami life in the afterlife known as Soul Society. No, he thew himself into his studies and mastered every art he could, then found himself wanting more. He was pleasant, and got along well with others, but they were unquestionably beneath him, so far as he was privately concerned. At some point, he witnessed the truth regarding the so-called "Soul King", and along with his silent contempt for the Gotei 13's corrupt culture and unchanging stagnancy, the revelation crystallized his desire to overthrow the existing order and replace it with a world where he alone stood at the top. He began researching ways to manipulate the boundary between Hollow and Shinigami so that he could create something greater than either, something that could supplant the Soul King, and he eventually stumbled across an answer at the same time as fellow scientist Kisuke Urahara: the Hougyoku, a mysterious orb with even more mysterious properties. \\
\\
In order to observe the Hougyoku's nature, perform a Hollowification experiment, and also to get certain troublesome people out of the way and into place for further manipulations, Aizen orchestrated a series of events that ended with Urahara and many of the most powerful members of the Gotei 13, including his own commanding officer, as fugitives in exile in the World of the Living. He then assumed leadership of the Gotei 13's Squad Five and continued to manipulate people and events for more than a century further before entering a critical phase of his plot: he sent Rukia Kuchiki to the side of Ichigo Kurosaki in such a way that she would transfer her Shinigami powers to him, knowing that Urahara would then take the chance to conceal the his own Hougyoku inside Rukia's soul. Aizen then arranged through extensive further manipulations for Rukia to be brought back to Soul Society as a fugitive and executed, which he knew would lead her friends, including Ichigo, to mount a rescue attempt. Ultimately, he revealed his plans and extracted Urahara's Hougyoku from Rukia without killing her (not that he would have minded), then openly announced his betrayal of Soul Society and escaped into Heuco Mundo, the land of Hollows, where he already had a power base of loyal follower Hollows waiting. \\
\\
Subsequently, Aizen fed Urahara's Hougyoku to his own Hougyoku, and applied himself to dividing and destroying the Gotei 13. In fact, he was just in the middle of that last step before he suddenly arrived on a certain hill...

* '''Powers/Abilities''':
** '''Kido''': A facet of Shinigami combat techniques, the easiest way to view Kido is like they are magic spells. Every one has unique capability and there are several different types of Kido. Every spell requires an incantation to be fully effective. Aizen's skill in Kido is exceptional among those from his own universe, to the extent that he is able to cast every known spell, and all but the higher-ranking ones without incantation. He is also able to implant Kido into the weave of clothing so that it takes on special effects, such as a cloak that conceals spiritual pressure and confers invisibility, or a miniature shield that activates in response to attack. Incidentally, he also knows a technique that would allow him to condense air underneath his feet and stand in the sky, only usable if he is in a location with a substantial amount of spiritual energy in the air.
** '''Reiryoku and Reiatsu''': Aizen possesses absolutely massive reserves of reiryoku (Spiritual Energy). Reiryoku recovers over time. In practical terms, this means he is capable of casting an enormous number of weaker spells in succession and using his zanpakuou's abilities for extremely long periods of time without tiring, though he can no longer cast very strong spells one after the other. He can also focus his reiryoku into reiatsu (Spiritual Pressure), exerted outward onto the world. This takes the form of a purple aura which may appear around his person or in the nearby air. There is no longer any physical effect of the aura aside from a subtle feeling of increased air pressure. Psychologically, it may result in people feeling a powerful sense of menace or killing intent (but players can choose how menaced they are, of course). Reiatsu is also possible to use defensively when focused, lending resistance to spiritual and magical weapons, attacks, and phenomena. Aizen passively emits a certain small degree of unfocused reiatsu constantly, which can be sensed by spiritually aware beings, but he may also actively suppress it and thereby conceal himself from the sixth sense.
** '''Speed and Strength''': Owing to the strengthening of his soul, Aizen has much greater strength than a mortal man with his build would ever be capable of. He is able to lift a maximum of five tons with effort. His speed and agility are also remarkable, in spite of his size, and he can chase down speeding cars with ease.
** '''Spiritual Sense''': AKA the sixth sense, an ability to perceive ghosts and other spiritual phenomena. In addition, he can detect and identify other people from a great distance by the spiritual energy their soul emits, if they emit any.
* '''Skills''':
** '''SCIENCE!''': Aizen possesses a ingenious scientific intellect and excellent analytical abilities. He is particularly an expert in the scientific underpinnings of the nature of souls and energy from his own universe.
** '''Sword Skill''': Aizen has mastered and practices a traditional form of swordplay. His skill with a sword is surpassingly high, and he is able to hold his own in a fight against multiple opponents with ease.
* '''Equipment''':
** '''Hougyoku''': A magical orb with a will of its own, which Aizen thought it wise to embed in his own torso. The Hougyoku used to be capable of many things, but its main ability was to manifest new powers within individuals when a sufficient level of reiryoku was applied to it. The Houg is currently "sleeping" and cannot awaken without the absorption of literally godlike power, meaning Aizen cannot utilize it to actively alter himself or others. However, it retains its passive ability to empower normal humans near Aizen with a degree of spiritual power and abilites specific to their personality when they are close by for long periods over nontrivial stretches of time (weeks, months).
** '''Zanpakuto - Kyouka Suigetsu''': A Zanpakuto is a sword formed directly from a Shinigami's soul and is inextricably tied to them. In its base form it looks like an average katana, though is exceptionally sharp and durable. When a keyword is uttered it enters its "shikai", and gains an exceptional power. As for Aizen's Zanpakuto, it's shikai used to have the unbelievable ability to manipulate the five senses of whoever witnessed its release. Now, however, it does something slightly different! Upon shikai release, Kyouka Suigetsu swiftly envelops the nearby area in a misty fog, which is visible to everyone, even people who have not looked at the sword. Characters who have at any time looked at the sword during the moments it was released into shikai are then subject to the following effects: \\
\\
Within the radius of the mist, Aizen can create holograms and phantom sounds convincing enough to appear real, perceivable only by said effected individuals. Further, if an individual believes a hologram to be real, that individual will also be able to perceive associated sensations of smell, taste, and touch for that hologram, including phantom pain, though a hologram could not inflict actual wounds or exert physical force, being an illusion. However, if an individual is touching the sword at the moment of shikai release, they will not be effected by these effects even if they are looking or have looked at the sword.

Currently pursuing a BA is willing to use everyone around him as pawns to achieve his goals. He will stop at nothing to further his ambitions, including manipulating or killing anyone if he deems it to be necessary. He frequently toys with his underlings for amusement, controlling them through acquired respect or fear and keeping more difficult ones in Political Science.line through intimidation and mind games. \\

If I do Aizen's primary aim is to overthrow Soul Society because he feels personally affronted by a system that he considers corrupt and abhorrent after witnessing its true nature, not least because of the "thing" referred to as the "Soul King".

*'''Backstory''': Sousuke Aizen was born exceptional. He began researching ways to manipulate the boundary between Hollow and Shinigami so that he could create

he eventually stumbled across an answer at the same time as fellow scientist Kisuke Urahara: the Hougyoku, a mysterious orb with even more mysterious properties.

I've often [[RootingForTheEmpire rooted for villains]] in various series Subsequently, Aizen fed Urahara's Hougyoku to his own Hougyoku, and wished I applied himself to dividing and destroying the Gotei 13. Thus, that last step before he suddenly arrived on a certain hill...

**'''Kido''': A facet of Shinigami combat techniques,
the many 'Evil' tropes applying below easiest way to view Kido is like they are not magic spells. Every one has unique capability and there are several different types of Kido. Every spell requires an incantation to be taken seriously... for fully effective. Aizen's skill in Kido is exceptional among those from his own universe, to the most part.

!!Tropes Applying To Darksidevoid:
* AltumVidetur

* BerserkButton: The Golden Mean Fallacy. Also, Wiki Talk makes him deteriorate into {{Angrish}}, so he tries to avoid it when he can.
* BlondGuysAreEvil
* BrilliantButLazy: Or so he likes to think. See also: the introductory paragraph of this page.
* TheChessmaster: Aspires to be this, covertly or overtly, with most of his characters, and occasionally in RealLife. The fact
extent that he loves strategizing is able to cast every known spell, and actually playing chess all but the higher-ranking ones without incantation.
**'''Reiryoku and Reiatsu''': Aizen possesses absolutely massive reserves of reiryoku (Spiritual Energy). This takes the form of a purple aura which
may appear around his person or in the nearby air.
**'''Speed and Strength''': Owing to the strengthening of his soul, Aizen has much greater strength than a mortal man with his build would ever be capable of. He is able to lift a maximum of five tons with effort. His speed and agility are also remarkable, in spite of his size, and he can chase down speeding cars with ease.
**'''Spiritual Sense''': AKA the sixth sense, an ability to perceive ghosts and other spiritual phenomena. In addition, he can detect and identify other people from a great distance by the spiritual energy their soul emits, if they emit any.
*'''Skills''':
**'''SCIENCE!''': Aizen possesses a ingenious scientific intellect and excellent analytical abilities. He is particularly an expert in the scientific underpinnings of the nature of souls and energy from his own universe.
**'''Sword Skill''': Aizen has mastered and practices a traditional form of swordplay. His skill with a sword is surpassingly high, and he is able to hold his own in a fight against multiple opponents with ease.
*'''Equipment''':
**'''Hougyoku''': A magical orb with a will of its own, which Aizen thought it wise to embed in his own torso.
**'''Zanpakuto - Kyouka Suigetsu''': A Zanpakuto is a sword formed directly from a Shinigami's soul and is inextricably tied to them. In its base form it looks like an average katana, though is exceptionally sharp and durable. When a keyword is uttered it enters its "shikai", and gains an exceptional power.
