** In the English dub, a voice actors' strike happening at the time meant that none of the returning characters from the original ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam'' had their original voices. For example, Amuro Ray, voiced in the original series by Creator/BradSwaile, is now voiced by Creator/MatthewErickson. While Amuro and Char at least had a similar-sounding replacement, the same cannot be said of Kai, who's new actor had a completely different pitch and lower octave from Creator/RichardIanCox.

* OlderThanTheyThink: Much of the current anime community doesn't know that ''Zeta Gundam'' was the original [[TropeCodifier codifier]] for the "rebellion" subgenre of RealRobot [[HumongousMecha mecha]], a full 20 years before ''Anime/CodeGeass'' clung it's way to fame through meme culture.

*** Creator/KeiichiNanba voices Katz Kobayashi instead of Creator/FuyumiShiraishi. Makes sense due to the character being 15 years old in ''Zeta Gundam''.

* TalkingToHimself: Averted, since although Mouar and Haman are both voiced by Creator/YoshikoSakakibara, Mouar [[spoiler: pretty much dies]] before Haman is introduced.

** Via archive audio, the late You Inoue reprises her role as Sayla Mass from in ''A New Translation''

** For ''A New Translation'':
*** Most of the series' voice actors reprised their roles, including Creator/NobuoTobita as Kamille Bidan. For Creator/HirotakaSuzuoki, it would be the final time he reprised his role as Bright Noa before his death on August 6, 2006.

* EnforcedMethodActing: During the Gundam 30th Anniversary Expo of 2009, Creator/NobuoTobita revealed how Director [[Creator/YoshiyukiTomino Yoshiyuki]] "KillEmAll" [[Creator/YoshiyukiTomino Tomino]] warned them since ''Zeta Gundam'' is an [[AnimeFirst original]], no matter whether they're TheProtagonist or not, nor how cool their characters was designed, if he felt any of the voice actors showed "[[WeakWilled signs of weakness]] in performance" during production, he would ''gleefully'' '''kill them off''' ''[[AnyoneCanDie anytime he wants]].'' Which unsurprisingly scared the bones out of Tobita himself, and mentioned he really felt like a true ActionSurvivor once the whole production was over with his role making it out alive in one piece.
