* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: The original version where Karen bore the voice of Creator/JuneForay. Australian voice actor and historian Keith Scott claims to own an old record containing Foray's original dialogue, though it's unknown if he still has it. Also [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FThhQQq_C8I this video]] notes the differences between a VHS tape and a Blu-ray - the uploader didn't know it at the time, but this scene is in fact taken from the Foray version, which was apparently ''remastered by accident''. Finally averted in December 2016, when a reconstruction of the original cut was [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivi5j2gvhZk uploaded to YouTube]], using Rhino's audio CD as a source.
* TheOtherDarrin: Karen was voiced by Creator/JuneForay in the original airing; later and most current versions have another, uncredited actress. Due to the credits still crediting June Foray as doing Karen's voice, her replacement went unidentified, until Mark Evanier's DVDCommentary for the 2018 Deluxe Edition DVD and Blu-ray referred to the girl as Suzanne Davidson. Interestingly enough, certain bits of Foray's performance are left in the redub besides her singing: The first sneeze in the boxcar, another sneeze while in the woods, Karen crying over the Frosty puddle, and the little yelp she gives out when running into Frosty's arms while on her rooftop.

* PlayingAgainstType: Jackie Vernon is best remembered today for doing the voice of Frosty, but at the time he was famous as a comedian. His comedy style was edgy and unconventional for the 1960's; imagine a combination of Creator/StevenWright (deadpan NonSequitur one-liners), Creator/GeorgeCarlin (oddball observations, occasional raunch) and Creator/RodneyDangerfield (hefty build, schlubby persona) and you have a rough idea of Vernon's act. Thus, starring as a jolly snowman in a family-oriented animated show definitely qualifies.

* AllStarCast: ''Frosty Returns'' is chock full of big names, including Creator/JohnGoodman, Creator/JonathanWinters, Creator/BrianDoyleMurray, Andrea Martin, Jan Hooks, and a then-unknown Creator/ElisabethMoss.
* DigitalDestruction: Recent airings of ''Frosty Returns'' for some reason remove Jonathan Winters' character from certain shots, and the snowfall is digitally erased in various scenes. The video releases retain the snowfall and character. Plus, there are two different versions of the ending credits; the TV version matches more to the traditional 1980s/90s Peanuts-style credit scroll. The 2014 video release also adds two commercial fade-ins where there weren't any before.

* ThrowItIn: During the second reprise of "Let There Be Snow" in ''Frosty Returns'', Charles sings twice, and in each instance, he does so wildly off-key. Holly and Frosty visibly cringe when he does. It's most likely the animation came after the voice recording, so it's possible their reaction wasn't in the original storyboard, but was thrown in for a laugh.
