* GodNeverSaidThat: It's commonly claimed, even on ThisVeryWiki, that Colin Moriarty's ridiculous [[{{Oireland}} Oirish]] accent is [[StylisticSuck deliberately bad]], as he's faking it to seem trustworthy. This is contradicted ''in-game'' by Herbert Dashwood, who [[https://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Tenpenny_Tower_terminal_entries#Megaton reminisces in his terminal entries]] about when Moriarty first arrived in America as a child.

* NewbieBoom: This was the first main-line ''Fallout'' in nearly a decade, and the first from Bethesda Softworks, coming hot on the heels of [[VideoGame/TheElderScrollsIVOblivion their recent massive success]] and incorporating much of the same design, thus drawing many of those fans in. The resulting newbie boom reshaped ''Fallout'' fandom forever.

** According to the casting company that reached out to Creator/LiamNeeson and Creator/MalcolmMcDowell for their voice roles, there was a brief period where ''UsefulNotes/BillClinton'' was seriously considered (and even approached) for the role of [[PresidentEvil John Henry Eden]].

* CreatonInjoke: Codsworth in VideoGame/Fallout4 can pronounce Fallout 3 designer Kim Dongjun's name if the player sets [=DongJun=] (case sensitive) as the in-game name.

* HeyItsThatVoice:
** ''VideoGame/{{Thief}}'' fans may recognize Harold as Garrett and [[ButtMonkey Benny]].
** By the Overseer! By the Overseer! It is the [[VideoGame/TheElderScrollsIVOblivion Adoring Fan]]!
** Creator/LiamNeeson voices the PlayerCharacter's father.
** Desmond, a character in the Point Lookout DLC, has an extremely gruff, gravelly voice. You almost expect for him to [[VideoGame/TheElderScrollsIIIMorrowind constantly mutter under his breath that he's watching me, calling me scum, or talk about things called Daedra]].
*** Speaking of Daedra, a few of the female characters in Point Lookout are voiced by Bari Biern, who voiced the Golden Saints in the Shivering Isles expansion of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Ironically, one of the characters she voices is a missionary named Marcella, who sounds and acts ''far'' more saint-like than...well, the Golden Saints.
** Braun is voiced by Creator/DeeBradleyBaker, and even has the same voice and accent as [[WesternAnimation/AmericanDad Klaus]].
** The mysterious Mr. Burke sounds ''exactly'' like a certain [[VideoGame/TheElderScrollsIVOblivion Speaker of the Dark Brotherhood]]. That man is also the stadium announcer of the Washington Capitals.
** President John Henry Eden is voiced by Creator/MalcolmMcDowell.
** Three Dog is Luther Mahoney on ''Series/HomicideLifeOnTheStreet'' and the coroner on ''Series/TheWire''. He's also Koh in ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender''.
** French fans can only wonder why or how ChuckNorris became President of the US, and/or why the player's father is [[WesternAnimation/TeenTitans Slade]], which is ironic when you consider [[Creator/RonPerlman who]] narrates the ''English'' version of almost every game in the series.
** Creator/PaulEiding has [[PlayingAgainstType taken a break from voicing tough, commanding]] [[VideoGame/MetalGearSolid military leaders]] and [[{{WesternAnimation/Ben10}} badass, albeit eccentric grandfathers]] to provide a much softer performance for the various elderly men met in the game.
