* PopCultureUrbanLegends: A common theory for the series' ending is that it was because, since the last season was set in the year of 1987, the following season would have to be set in 1988; and since Chris Rock's real life dad, Julius Rock, died precisely that year, he stopped the show to avoid having to portray his father's death. In reality, the series ended simply because the child actors were growing too old.
