** The first line of the first OP ''Guren no Yumiya'' has been misspelled in numerous ways due to Linked Horizon's inexact pronunciation of German and inconsistent fansubs, one common one being "Sie sind das Essen und wir sind die Jäger!" The official spelling is "Seid ihr das Essen? Nein, wir sind der Jäger!".

** Many members of the dub cast, like Creator/PatrickSeitz and Creator/JoshGrelle, watched the simulcast of the Japanese version. The most surprising example of this, however, is the dub VA for Eren Jaegar: since Creator/{{FUNimation}} was announced to be the English distributor of the series, no one could've expected Creator/BrycePapenbrook, a California-based VA and huge fan of the series, to be announced as the leading man of the anime.

* LyingCreator: Part of the previews for the finale included a sketch of what was claimed to be the manga's final panel, showing [[spoiler: a man holding a baby and saying "You are free"]]. ** Fans were quick to point out that [[spoiler: Zeke and Grisha]] looked practically identical, leading many to suspect that they were related, or at the very least knew one another personally.
** Many have correctly predicted that [[spoiler: humans weren't actually extinct beyond the Walls]].
** The identity of the Smiling Titan as [[spoiler:Dina Yeager, Grisha's first wife]], was pretty much speculated since she was introduced in Chapter 86 and was confirmed in the next chapter.
** A few people speculated that the ShellShockedVeteran that Falco stops to help in Chapter 94 was [[spoiler:Eren in disguise]], come Chapter 97 and they were proven right.
** Most readers of the manga were extremely skeptical about Eren seemingly going along with [[spoiler: Zeke's plan to sterilize all Eldians (thereby causing them to go extinct) because it's greatly at odds with Eren's established philosophy. Fans insisted that Eren was just going along with Zeke's plan to gain control of the Founding Titan. ** Hajime Isayama first brought his pilot to Shueisha, with the hopes of having it published in ''[[Magazine/ShonenJump Weekly Shonen Jump]]'', but the editor who evaluated his work said that it was good, but not good enough for ''Jump'' standards[[note]]"This is manga, we want JUMP!" being his exact words[[/note]]; then, when Isayama gave his pilot to Kodansha, it was accepted in no time and published at ''Bessatsu Shounen Magazine'', a monthly offshoot of their ''Weekly Shonen Magazine''. ** In ''WesternAnimation/TurningRed'', the climax of the film with Ming's panda form, from the form itself to the camera angles used in the stadium to even how Mei ultimately takes her out (air manoeuvrability, a weak spot to hit) is a near-perfect homage to ''Attack on Titan''.

* CrossDressingVoices: Played straight in the original Japanese dub where Armin Arlert is voiced by Creator/MarinaInoue. Averted in the English version where he is voiced by Creator/JessieJamesGrelle, who is biologically male.

* OldShame: According to [[http://comicbook.com/anime/2018/03/22/attack-on-titan-season-3-hype-hajime-isayama-uprising/ an interview]] that comes in the Blu-Ray box set of Season 2, the "Uprising" arc (manga volumes 13-16) was where Isayama felt "the most disappointed with his work" and hopes that on its animated adaptation in Season 3 he'll [[AuthorsSavingThrow have the chance to wipe away that regret and replace it with something he's proud of]]. In context, the adapted Uprising arc changed in terms of pacing by cutting off some characterization from Dimo Reeves' negotiations with the Survey Corps and his importance in the district of Trost, and the journalists Roy and Beaure's impact on the reporting of the crimes of the government.

* CrossDressingVoices: Played straight in the original Japanese dub where Armin Arlert is voiced by Creator/MarinaInoue.
** Initially averted in the English version where he is voiced by Creator/JessieJamesGrelle. But ever since she announced her male-to-female transition in 2023, this is played straight.

* RoleReprise: In the Latin American Spanish dub, the cast from the compilation movies return to reprise their roles for the TV series itself.

* PlayingAgainstType: ''Big time'' in the Latin American Spanish dub: [[Manga/{{Naruto}} While]] [[WesternAnimation/CatsDontDance not being]] [[Series/StrangerThings the first time doing this]], Creator/CristinaHernandez's role as Krista is pretty outside her normal modus operandi of voicing [[TheCutie cute little girls]], like [[Manga/CardCaptorSakura Sakura Kinomoto]], Franchise/HelloKitty or [[Anime/SailorMoon Chibi-usa]].

** The Latin American Spanish dub is suffering from this right now, since there's no current news since a dubbed trailer has released, and some sites about dubbing, like Doblaje Wiki, has removed any mention about the Latin American Spanish dub. To makes matters more complicated, there's a [[https://twitter.com/orlandonog/status/1236809022235463680/photo/1 tweet]] from Miami-based Venezuelan voice actor Orlando Noguera about a mention of him voicing Reiner Braun, which means the dub of the series has being switched from Mexico to the either the U.S. or Venezuela (in this case, on Creator/TheKitchen, the studio from he works with).[[note]]And that without going into the point the image also states he will also voice [[Manga/MyHeroAcademia All Might]], despite the only MHA's animated production dubbed in Latin American Spanish, ''Anime/MyHeroAcademiaTwoHeroes'' was dubbed in Mexico.[[/note]] As of September 2020. It has been confirmed that [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhcPhpeJ6Yk the compilation movies will be getting dubbed in Mexico]], but it's still unknown if the TV anime is going to be dubbed by either company. This is later double subverted, when Funimation decided to use the Mexican voice cast from the films, very likely due to the public Latin American backlash against Creator/TheKitchen, and their [[Anime/SmilePrettyCure previous attempts]] [[Anime/TheGardenOfWords on dubbing anime]].

* In ''VideoGame/{{Stellaris}}'', a possible SpacePirate ship name is ''Attack on Freighter''.
