This is due to a combination of [[CrossRegionalVoiceActing the voice voicing for the other characters was done in the UK]], Creator/NancyAllen (Anne Lewis) retiring, and Creator/RobertDoQui (Sgt. Reed), Creator/DanOHerlihy (the Old Man), and Mario Machado (Casey Wong) all dying between ''Film/RoboCop3'' and the making of the game.

* The first ''Literature/DiamondBrothers'' book, "The Falcon's Malteser", was adapted as a film in 1988; a follow-up TV series simply called "The Diamond Brothers" (using an original story not based on one of the other books, although it was later novelised) was produced in 1991. Dursley [=McLinden=] and Colin Dale returned as Tim and Nick Diamond for the series, but Snape and Boyle were played by Creator/BillPaterson and Jimmy Nail in the film and Michael Feast and Gordon Winter in the series. Feast and Winter were clearly cast, at least in part, because they bore more than a passing resemblance to Paterson and Nail.

* The audiobook versions of ''Literature/AlienOutOfTheShadows'' and Creator/WilliamGibson's script for ''Film/Alien3'' had Laurel Lefkow replace Creator/SigourneyWeaver as Ripley. ''Out of the Shadows'' also had [[spoiler:Creator/RutgerHauer replace Creator/IanHolm as Ash]], and ''River of Pain'' (the sequel to ''Shadows'') and the adaptation of Gibson's script had Mairead Doherty replace Carrie Henn as Newt.
* ''VideoGame/BatmanArkhamSeries'':
** In ''VideoGame/BatmanArkhamCity'', Creator/TaraStrong replaces Creator/ArleenSorkin as the voice of Harley Quinn, Creator/DavidKaye replaces Creator/TomKane as Commissioner Gordon, and Creator/GreyDeLisle replaces Creator/TasiaValenza as Martha Wayne. The latter two are puzzling, considering Kane and Valenza did return to reprise the respective roles of Quincy Sharp and Poison Ivy.
** To reflect its status as a prequel, ''VideoGame/BatmanArkhamOrigins'' sees Creator/RogerCraigSmith and Creator/TroyBaker as the [[TimeShiftedActor younger versions]] of Batman and the Joker respectively, as opposed to getting Creator/KevinConroy and Creator/MarkHamill back. Similarly, Creator/JBBlanc replaces Creator/FredTatasciore as Bane, Creator/BrianBloom replaces Creator/NolanNorth as Black Mask, and Creator/KharyPayton replaces Creator/SteveBlum as Killer Croc. As with the recasting Gordon and Martha Wayne, the recastings of Black Mask, Killer Croc, and Bane are surprising, considering North returned to reprise the role of the Penguin, and Tatasciore and Blum returned to provide other voices. Speaking of Gordon, he's recast ''yet again'', this time with Creator/MichaelJGough voicing him, who ironically, despite voicing a younger version of Gordon, is older than both Kane and Kaye. Simiarly, Kelsey Lansdowne replaces Creator/KimberlyBrooks as pre-Batgirl/Oracle Barbara Gordon and Dick Grayson as Robin is voiced by Creator/JoshKeaton as opposed to Creator/TroyBaker[[note]]Nightwing didn't speak in ''City'', though his grunts were reused from Tim Drake[[/note]].
** The tie-in film, ''WesternAnimation/BatmanAssaultOnArkham'' sees Creator/HyndenWalch as Harley (who first voiced the character on ''WesternAnimation/TheBatman''), replacing both Sorkin and Strong; Creator/NealMcDonough replace Chris Cox as Deadshot, despite Cox being present; and Creator/MatthewGrayGubler replace Creator/WallyWingert as the Riddler. Cox himself is the fourth person to voice Commissioner Gordon, and many characters appear, but don't speak, having their grunts done by other people, including Creator/JohnDiMaggio (Killer Shark) filling in for Tatascoire and Blanc as Bane, Creator/JenniferHale ([[RoleReprise Killer]] [[WesternAnimation/JusticeLeague Frost]]) filling in for Tasia Valenza as Poison Ivy, and Creator/ChristianLanz (who voiced Bird in ''Arkham Origins'') as the Scarecrow.

Likewise, Creator/AshleyGreene voices Batgirl/Oracle as opposed to Kimberly Brooks or Kelsey Lansdowne, Nightwing is voiced by Scott Porter as opposed to Troy Baker or Josh Keaton, and despite Baker coming back as Two-Face and the titular Arkham Knight, Creator/MatthewMercer replaced him as the Tim Drake Robin. However, TheOriginalDarrin is also in effect as the game does see the return of Tara Strong as Harley, Tasia Valenza as Poison Ivy, Wally Wingert as the Riddler, [[spoiler:Mark Hamill as the Joker]], and Steve Blum as Croc.
** ''VideoGame/BatmanArkhamVR'' sees Tom Austin replace Baker and Mercer as Tim Drake, Hugh Frasier replace Martin Jarvis as Alfred, Ian Redford replace Creator/NolanNorth as the Penguin, and Jules de Jongh replace Creator/GreyDeLisle as Vicki Vale.
** ''VideoGame/BatmanArkhamUnderworld'' sees the reuse of Harley's ''Asylum'' design and the designs of Bane and Killer Croc from that game and ''City''--yet Tara Strong, Khary Payton, and J.B. Blanc reprise the respective roles, as opposed to Arleen Sorkin, Steve Blum, and Fred Tatasciore. Additionally, TheOriginalDarrin is in play for the Scarecrow and Deadshot, being respectively reprised by Dino Andrade and Chris Cox.
** ''VideoGame/SuicideSquadKillTheJusticeLeague'', set in the same universe, sees Wrestling/SamoaJoe replace Creator/JohnDiMaggio from ''Assault on Arkham'' as King Shark.

* ''VideoGame/BeastWarsTransmetals'' actually did get a sizeable number of the cartoon's cast to reprise their roles, but there are still some notable instances of characters getting different voice actors.
** Martin Roach replaces Blu Mankuma as Tigatron and Creator/LeeTockar as Ravage in both versions of the game, in addition to replacing Doug Parker as Starscream in the Nintendo 64 version.
** Alec Willows replaces Creator/RichardNewman as the voice of Rhinox in the [=PlayStation=] version.
** Janet-Laine Green replaces Venus Terzo as the voice of Blackarachnia and Pauline Newstone as the voice of Airazor.
** Creator/IanJamesCorlett replaces Colin Murdoch as the voice of Quickstrike in the [=PlayStation=] version.
* ''VideoGame/DisneyInfinity'':
** Several of the characters were not able to get their original actors to play them. *** However, as the inverse of the example with Jackson, despite being based on the ''Film/GuardiansOfTheGalaxy'' movie, the ''[=GotG=]'' set features many of the voice actors who voiced the characters on ''Ultimate'' and ''Assemble'', as well as ''WesternAnimation/HulkAndTheAgentsOfSMASH'', as opposed to the actors who played them in the movie, including Creator/ChrisCox as Star-Lord, Creator/NikaFutterman as Gamora, Creator/DavidSobolov as Drax, Creator/KevinMichaelRichardson as Groot, Creator/JamesCMathisIII as Ronan the Accuser, and Creator/JeffBennett as the Collector. The only exceptions regarding voice talent coming from the recent Marvel cartoons are Creator/NolanNorth as Rocket (and even then, it's a reprise as he voiced Movie!Rocket in ''VideoGame/MarvelHeroes''), Chris Edgerly as Yondu, and Creator/CarlosAlazraqui as Cosmo (the last of whom didn't even speak in the movie). But none of the actors from the movie reprised their roles.
*** Courtnee Draper replaces Caitlyn Taylor Love as ComicBook/WhiteTiger.
*** Despite [[VideoGame/LEGOAdaptationGame voicing the Green Goblin before]], Creator/NolanNorth is this to Creator/StevenWeber as the Green Goblin, given the Goblin North voiced before was the classic Goblin and again, the Spider-Man playset in based on the ''Ultimate Spider-Man'' cartoon.

Additionally, the game had three bonus levels using the 616 and ''Ultimates'' costumes, where none of the film actors reprised their roles, including Creator/RobinAtkinDownes replacing Creator/IoanGruffudd as Reed, Creator/GreyDeLisle replacing Creator/JessicaAlba as Sue, Creator/FredTatasciore replacing Creator/MichaelChiklis as Ben, Creator/QuintonFlynn reprising his role from [[WesternAnimation/FantasticFour the '90s cartoon]] and replacing Creator/ChrisEvans as Johnny, and Creator/JimMeskimen replacing Julian [=McMahon=] as Dr. Doom.
** None of the actors from the film reprised their roles in the ''Film/FantasticFourRiseOfTheSilverSurfer'' game.
* ''None'' of the voice actors from the ''Franchise/{{Injustice}}'' games are returning to their roles for ''WesternAnimation/Injustice2021''. Among the recastings are Creator/JustinHartley replacing Creator/GeorgeNewbern as Superman, Creator/AnsonMount replacing Creator/KevinConroy as Batman, Creator/JanetVarney replacing Creator/SusanEisenberg as Wonder Woman, and Creator/KevinPollak replacing Creator/RichardEpcar as the Joker. Creator/FredTatasciore, who voiced Bane and Solomon Grundy in the game's is part of the film's cast, but as of August 2021, he's only known to be voicing Captain Atom.
* ''Franchise/LiloAndStitch'' franchise:
** ''Anime/{{Stitch}}'': None of the original English voice cast from the ''WesternAnimation/LiloAndStitch'' [[WesternAnimation/StitchTheMovie mo]][[WesternAnimation/LiloAndStitch2StitchHasAGlitch vi]][[WesternAnimation/LeroyAndStitch es]] and ''WesternAnimation/LiloAndStitchTheSeries'' such as Creator/ChrisSanders, Creator/DaveighChase, Creator/KevinMichaelRichardson, Creator/FrankWelker or Creator/RobPaulsen reprise their roles for the English dub. Creator/BenDiskin replaced Sanders as Stitch, and [[Creator/ReducedShakespeareCompany Jess Winfield]], one of the executive producers and writers of ''The Series'', is really the only real connection between this anime and the original franchise, with him providing the voice of Dr. Jumba Jookiba instead of Creator/DavidOgdenStiers. {{Averted|Trope}} in the original Japanese version, where everybody else returns from the Japanese dub of the ''WesternAnimation/LiloAndStitch'' franchise.
** ''Animation/StitchAndAi'': Once again, none of the original cast from the films or ''The Series'' return to reprise their roles, although Diskin and Winfield reprise their roles as Stitch and Jumba, respectively. Winfield has also now taken over the role of Jumba entirely after the death of David Ogden Stiers in 2018.
* The ''WesternAnimation/{{Madagascar}}'' video games based on the films also see plenty of replacements:
** Alex is voiced by Ben Stiller in the movies, but the video games have him voiced by Wally Wingert (the first game) and Crispin Freeman (the second and third game).
** Marty is voiced by Chris Rock in the movies and Phil [=LaMarr=] in the video games.
** Melman is voiced by David Schwimmer in the movies and Creator/StephenStanton in the video games.
** Bettina Bush replaces Jada Pinkett Smith as Gloria.
** Rico is voiced by Fred Tatasciore in the second video game instead of his regular actor John [=DiMaggio=].
** King Julien is voiced by Keith Ferguson in the first video game and by his TV actor Danny Jacobs in the second and third game. Both replace Sascha Baron Cohen.
** Maurice is voiced by John Cothran Jr. in the first game and by Fred Tatasciore in the two games after. Both replace Cedric the Entertainer (films) and Kevin Michael Richardson (cartoons).
** Mort is voiced by Dee Bradley Baker in the first game and Matt Nolan in the future games, instead of Andy Richter (his film and cartoon actor).
** The ''WesternAnimation/{{Madagascar 3|EuropesMostWanted}}'' video game sees Julianne Buescher, Danny Jacobs, and Alanna Ubach replace Jessica Chastain, Martin Short, and Frances [=McDurmond=] as Gia, Stefano, and Captain Dubois.
* The ''only'' people to reprise roles from the ''Franchise/MortalKombat'' games for the ''WesternAnimation/MortalKombatLegends'' [[WesternAnimation/MortalKombatLegendsScorpionsRevenge duo]][[WesternAnimation/MortalKombatLegendsBattleOfTheRealms logy]] are Creator/PatrickSeitz as Scorpion (doubling as TheOriginalDarrin given he was replaced by Ron Yuan in ''VideoGame/MortalKombat11''), Creator/DaveBMitchell as Sektor, Creator/MatthewMercer as Kurtis Stryker, technically Creator/SteveBlum as the Bi-Han Sub-Zero (as {{Mirror Match}}es in ''VideoGame/Injustice2'' and ''11'' had one of the Sub-Zeros be Bi-Han), and also technically Creator/GreyDeLisle-Griffin as Kitana (as she'd recorded grunts for the character in ''VideoGame/MortalKombatX''). Everyone else was recast.[[note]]In the case of Creator/IkeAmadi in both films and Creator/MatthewYangKing in ''Battle'', they're on ''both'' ends, being replaced (King as Liu Kang by Jordan Rodrigues, Amadi as Cyrax and Shao Kahn by respectively Artt Butler, who voiced Shang Tsung in the duology, and Creator/FredTatasciore, who voiced Torr and Tremor in ''VideoGame/MortalKombatX'') and ''doing'' the replacing (King replacing Sunil Malhotra as Kung Lao and Amadi replacing William Stephens as Jax). Also, while Mitchell reprises the role of Sektor, he also replaces Creator/RichardEpcar and Rhasaan Orange in the respective roles of Raiden and Kintaro[[/note]]
* ''VideoGame/PowerRangersBattleForTheGrid'' sees Meghan Camarena replace Creator/AmyJoJohnson as [[Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers Kimberly Hart]], and Creator/CarrieKeranen replace Creator/BarbaraGoodson, the late Thuy Trang, and Erin Cahill respectively as [[Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers Rita Repulsa, Trini Kwan]] and [[Series/PowerRangersTimeForce Jen Scott]]
* The PC and [=PlayStation=] 2 versions of ''VideoGame/PowerRangersSuperLegends'' featured voice acting, but none of the characters featured in the game are reprised by the actors who played them in their respective ''Franchise/PowerRangers'' series.
** Creator/BrianDonovan voices [[Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers Billy Cranston/the Blue Mighty Morphin' Ranger]] instead of David Yost.
** Creator/YuriLowenthal voices [[Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers Jason Lee Scott/the Red Mighty Morphin' Ranger]] instead of Austin St. John and [[Series/PowerRangersSPD Sam/the Omega Ranger]] instead of Brett Stewart.
** Creator/{{David Lodge|Actor}} replaces Bruce Hopkins as the voice of [[Series/PowerRangersNinjaStorm Choobo]] and Mark Ferguson as the voice of [[Series/PowerRangersOperationOverdrive Moltor]].
** Creator/NolanNorth replaces Kerrigan Mahan as the voice of [[Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers Goldar]] and James [=MacLurcan=] as [[Series/PowerRangersOperationOverdrive Mack Hartford/the Red Overdrive Ranger]].
** Darryl Kurylo voices [[Series/PowerRangersOperationOverdrive Will Aston/the Black Overdrive Ranger]] instead of Samuell Benta and [[Series/PowerRangersSPD Anubis Cruger/the Shadow Ranger]] instead of John Tui.
** Scott [=McShane=] voices [[Series/PowerRangersNinjaStorm Hunter Bradley/the Crimson Thunder Ranger]] instead of Adam Tuominen and [[Series/PowerRangersSPD Jack Landors/the Red SPD Ranger]] instead of Brandon Jay [=McLaren=].
** Creator/KeithFerguson replaces Reggie Rolle as [[Series/PowerRangersLostGalaxy Damon Henderson/the Green Galaxy Ranger]] and Jason Chan as [[Series/PowerRangersNinjaStorm Cameron Watanabe/the Green Samurai Ranger]].
** [[Series/PowerRangersNinjaStorm Blake Bradley/the Navy Thunder Ranger]] is voiced by Kenn Michael instead of Jorgito Vargas, Jr.
** [[Series/PowerRangersSPD Icthior]] and [[Series/PowerRangersWildForce Cole Evans/the Red Wild Force Ranger]] are both voiced by Creator/WallyWingert instead of Jason Hoyte and Ricardo Medina, Jr. respectively.
** Creator/SteveBlum replaces Creator/RobertAxelrod as the voice of [[Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers Lord Zedd]] and Phillip Andrew as [[Series/PowerRangersWildForce Merrick Baliton/the Lunar Wolf Ranger]].
** Creator/KimMaiGuest replaces Creator/AmyJoJohnson as [[Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers Kimberly Ann Hart/the Pink Mighty Morphin' Ranger]], Amy Miller as [[Series/PowerRangersLostGalaxy Trakeena]], Sally Martin as [[Series/PowerRangersNinjaStorm Tori Hanson/the Blue Wind Ranger]], and Monica May as [[Series/PowerRangersSPD Elizabeth Delgado/the Yellow SPD Ranger]].
** Eric Artell replaces Danny Slavin as [[Series/PowerRangersLostGalaxy Leo Corbett/the Red Galaxy Ranger]].
* ''Anime/PowerpuffGirlsZ'':
** Most of the voice actors from the Japanese-language dub of ''WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls'' were recast. For example, Creator/EmiriKatou replaces Creator/KaoriAsoh as Blossom.
** Voice acting-wise, the English-language dub of the anime became is currently the only installment in the ''WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls'' franchise without any connection to the original 1998 show, with the voices recorded in Vancouver by Creator/TheOceanGroup. However, Tara Strong did express interest in reprising her role of Bubbles for the dub, as unlikely as that is to happen. Only time will tell if Vancouver itself [[CaliforniaDoubling will portray Townsville again]] in the upcoming live-action Powerpuff show.
* The ''VideoGame/SpiderManTrilogy'' would see Creator/TobeyMaguire reprise his role as Spider-Man and the actors who played villains reprise their roles -- in stuff they were villains in, as before the ''Film/SpiderMan3'' game, future Spidey voice actor Creator/JoshKeaton filled in for Creator/JamesFranco as Harry Osborn and likewise, Creator/JKSimmons would only reprise his role as Jonah in that game, being voiced in the earlier games by Jay Gordon. Additionally, Creator/KirstenDunst would only reprise her role as Mary Jane in ''VideoGame/SpiderMan2'', being voiced in ''VideoGame/SpiderManTheMovie'' and the third game by a different actress (including Creator/KariWahlgren in the third one) and Robbie, Betty Brant, Aunt May, Curt Connors, and Mendell Stromm being voiced by different voice actors period. Even within the game series, Robbie, Betty, Kraven, the Scorpion, the Rhino, and Dr. Connors would change voice actors.
* In the first ''VideoGame/StarTrekEliteForce'' game, each of the main characters was voiced by their original actor from ''Series/StarTrekVoyager'' except Seven, who was voiced by Joan Buddenhagen. Then when the expansion pack was released, Creator/JeriRyan stepped in to provide Seven's voice, even going so far as to re-record all of Seven's lines from the original game so there wouldn't be an obvious change when going from original to expansion material.
* In ''[[Series/StarTrekDeepSpaceNine Star Trek: DS9]]: The Fallen'', most of the original cast is present to voice their characters, with the rather bizarre exception of Avery Brooks as Captain Sisko. Instead, Sisko is voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson.
* ''VideoGame/StarTrekOnline'' has Cryptic going out of its way to try to obtain many of the original actors should a famed character be used in some way. So far, the only exception to this is the Guardian of Forver, who was voiced by the late James Doohan (TOS' Scotty). Whoever his new voice actor is, he's really {{Narm}}y.
** In 2015, it was revealed that Cryptic went SAG-certified and that the limited number of spaces for non-SAG members should be dedicated to other ''Star Trek'' alumni. This caused a number of voice actors, such as Gabriel Wolf (who voiced the Liberated Borg Gaius Selan) to be jettisoned out. The first person known to be replaced was Chancellor J'mpok, originally voiced by Jon St. John and now voiced by Liam [=McIntyre=].
* Creator/BobBergen is this to Creator/MarkHamill when it comes to portraying Luke Skywalker in ''Franchise/StarWarsLegends''; he even voices Luke in the ''WesternAnimation/RobotChicken'' parodies.
* Franchise/TransformersAlignedUniverse includes ''WesternAnimation/TransformersPrime'', its sequel ''[[WesternAnimation/TransformersRobotsInDisguise2015 Robots in Disguise]]'', and ''[[WesternAnimation/TransformersRescueBots Rescue Bots]]'', ''RB''[='=]s sequel series ''[[WesternAnimation/TransformersRescueBotsAcademy Rescue Bots Academy]]'', and the video games ''VideoGame/TransformersWarForCybertron'' and ''[[VideoGame/TransformersFallOfCybertron Fall of Cybertron]]'', but the only thing amounting between voice actors continuing the roles between ''[=WfC=]''[=/=]''[=FoC=]'' and ''Prime''[=/=]''RB''[=/=]''[=RiD=]'' is Creator/PeterCullen once again as Optimus Prime until ''RBA'' even replaced him, and even in the same series, there's been a few cases.
** Creator/FrankWelker reprises his iconic roles [[WesternAnimation/TheTransformers the original cartoon]] as Megatron and (for his single line) Soundwave in ''Prime'', effectively replacing Creator/FredTatasciore and Creator/IsaacCSingletonJr, who voiced the respective roles in ''[=WfC=]'' and ''[=FoC=]''. Creator/JeffreyCombs and Creator/KevinMichaelRichardson also replace Tatasciore in the respective roles of Ratchet and The ''Nemesis''[=/=]Typticon. However, Tatasciore found himself on the other end of this trope for ''Prime'''s [[VideoGame/TransformersPrimeTheGame tie-in game]], filling in for Creator/TonyTodd as Dreadwing.
** Creator/SteveBlum was replaced by Creator/DavidSobolov as Shockwave. He was also replaced in the role of Cliffjumper by Creator/NolanNorth in ''Fall of Cybertron'' and on ''Prime'' by Wrestling/DwayneJohnson in "Darkness Rising, Part 1" and Billy Brown in "Out of the Past". Much like Tatasciore, however, Blum finds himself on the other side of this as well, replacing Creator/SamRiegel as Starscream in ''Prime''.
** Creator/SumaleeMontano replaces Creator/KariWahlgren as Arcee.
** Creator/CrispinFreeman is replaced by Creator/AdamBaldwin as Breakdown in ''Prime'' and as Grimlock for ''Fall of Cybertron'' by Grimlock's G1 voice actor, Creator/GreggBerger. Creator/KharyPayton also voices Grimlock in ''Robots in Disguise'', but WordOfGod [[https://twitter.com/sonnova/status/606586570980749312 is that]] ''[=RiD=]''!Grimlock [[DecompositeCharacter isn't the same character]] as ''[=WfC=]''/''[=FoC=]''!Grimlock.
** Bumblebee's voice box was destroyed between ''[=WfC=]'' and ''[=FoC=]'' and spends ''[=FoC=]'', and most of ''Prime'' and ''Rescue Bots'' mute. However, when his voice box is restored, he goes from Creator/JohnnyYongBosch to Creator/WillFriedle.
** Creator/MichaelIronside replaces Creator/JamiesonPrice as Ultra Magnus.
** ''Prime'''s sequel, ''Robots in Disguise'', also gets in on this, with Creator/DarrenCriss replacing Creator/TravisWillingham as Sideswipe. Though because of the difference in personality, Wiki/TFWikiDotNet does treat the two as separate characters. As with Blum in ''Prime'' proper and Tatasciore in ''Prime''[='=]s tie-in game, Willingham finds himself on the other end, as well, replacing Tatasciore as Motormaster.
** ''Robots in Disguise'' sees Arif S. Kinchen replace Scott Whyte (''[=WfC=]'') and Creator/TroyBaker (''[=FoC=]'') as Jazz, despite Baker voicing [[BigBad Steeljaw]]. That said, as with Mr. Tatasciore and Mr. Blum, this goes both ways with Mr. Whyte as he replaced Creator/DavidKaye as Hardshell in ''VideoGame/TransformersRiseOfTheDarkSpark''. ''[=RiD=]'' also sees Creator/LiamOBrien replace Baker as Kickback, again despite Baker being in ''[=RiD=]'', though because of the difference in personality, Wiki/TFWikiDotNet does treat the two as separate characters. [[spoiler:Like Willingham, O'Brien is on both ends, having been replaced as Cyclonus by Creator/HarryLennix]].
** For a case of this happening in the same series (outside of Cliffjumper going from Dwayne Johnson to Billy Brown in ''Prime''), ''Rescue Bots'' sees Creator/GregEllis replace Creator/TimCurry as Dr. Morocco in Season 2, due to Curry suffering a stroke. The same series saw Hayley originally voiced by Creator/LaceyChabert instead of Danica [=McKellar=].
** ''WesternAnimation/TransformersRescueBotsAcademy'' uses non-union New York-based voice actors, resulting in none of the characters returning from the original ''Rescue Bots'', ''Transformers Prime'' or the 2015 ''Robots in Disguise'' series having their original actors reprise their roles.
*** Elan Garfias is replaced by Andy Zou as the voice of Cody Burns.
*** Francine Greene is voiced by Kaitlin Becker instead of Daimond White.
*** Paul Guyet replaces Creator/LeVarBurton as the voice of Dr. Ezra Greene, Creator/JeffBennett as the voice of Mayor Luskey and Creator/SteveBlum as the voice of Heatwave.
*** Mr. Harrison and Bumblebee are both voiced by Jeremy Levy instead of Creator/DCDouglas and Creator/WillFriedle respectively.
*** Todd Perlmutter replaces Creator/JeffreyCombs as the voice of Ratchet, Shannon [=McKain=] as the voice of Jerry, Jeff Bennett as Huxley Prescott and Creator/RobbieDaymond as Myles.
*** Instead of Creator/KharyPayton, Grimlock is voiced by Terrence Flint.
*** Optimus Prime is not reprised by Creator/PeterCullen and goes through two different voice actors, with Hiro Diaz voicing him in the series premiere and Jake Tillman voicing Optimus for the remainder of the series.
*** Michael Hansen replaces Parvesh Cheena as the voice of Blades.
*** Frank Cwiklik voices Chase instead of D.C. Douglas.
*** Boulder's voice actor is Keyon Williams isntead of Imari Williams.
* ''VideoGame/TransformersDevastation'': While a number of the voice actors from [[WesternAnimation/TheTransformers the original cartoon]] perform {{Role Reprise}}s, several characters have been recast due to unfortunate deaths, such as Wheeljack and Starscream (both originally voiced by Chris Latta) being played by Christopher Swindle and Scott Whyte. However, some still-living actors are absent (Creator/CoreyBurton doesn't voice Shockwave), and in an odd example of the trope, roles originally played by returning cast members are now played by others (in the cartoon, Megatron, Soundwave, Rumble, Frenzy, Skywarp and Mixmaster were all played by Creator/FrankWelker, but other actors play those last four while Frank reprises the first two).
* ''VisualNovel/{{Tsukihime}}'': The Japanese voice cast for the anime were replaced by the ''VideoGame/MeltyBlood'' voice cast for subsequent appearances (up until the death in 2015 of Creator/MiyuMatsuki, who played Hisui in ''Melty Blood'', upon which [[TheOriginalDarrin the role returned]] to Hisui's anime voice actress, Creator/YumiKakazu). In turn, the ''Melty Blood'' cast were replaced by the ''Tsukihime'' remake's voice cast for subsequent appearances.
* ''VideoGame/ViewMasterBatmanAnimatedVR'':
** In the years since they last voiced the characters, Creator/ArleenSorkin and Creator/GeorgeDzundza had retired, and Creator/BobHastings and Creator/EfremZimbalistJr had passed on. Thus the game sees that, like in ''VideoGame/BatmanArkhamCity'', Creator/TaraStrong replace Sorkin as Harley Quinn; Creator/EricBauza replace Dzundza as the Ventriloquist and Scarface; and Creator/MauriceLaMarche replace both Zimbalist and Hastings as Alfred and Commissioner Gordon respectively.
** While both Creator/JohnGlover and Music/PaulWilliams are still alive and active, [=LaMarche=] and Bauza also replace them in the respective roles of the Riddler and the Penguin. Creator/AndreaRomano also replaces Creator/RichardMoll as the Batcomputer.
** While Creator/TaraStrong did voice Batgirl during the ''TNBA'' era, this does see her voice Barbara in her ''B: TAS'' design, who originally in that era was voiced by Melissa Gilbert and the late Creator/MaryKayBergman.
* None of the voice actors who worked on the ''VideoGame/ViewtifulJoe'' video games reprised their roles for the English dub of the anime adaptation, albeit a few of them did return in other roles, like Creator/KevinMichaelRichardson, who originally voiced Hulk Davidson in the games, voiced the announcer in the anime.
** ''WesternAnimation/YoungJustice'':
** Rob Lowe originally voiced [[ComicBook/{{Shazam}} Captain Marvel]], but had to bow out due to scheduling issues with his other series, ''Series/ParksAndRecreation''. He was replaced by his younger brother Chad for the remainder of the series.
** ComicBook/{{Deathstroke}} was voiced by Creator/WentworthMiller in his first appearance in the second season, but Miller was soon replaced by Creator/FredTatasciore.
** While Rocket was voiced by the actress Kittie in season 1 and in the season 2 episode "Satisfaction", Denise Bouette replaced her for "Intervention".
** George Eads voiced Franchise/TheFlash for most of the series, but was replaced by Creator/JamesArnoldTaylor from "Endgame" onward.
** The video game tie-in ''VideoGame/YoungJusticeLegacy'' featured even ''more'' replacements: Jason Spisak replaced Logan Grove and Creator/DaveFranco in the respective role of Beast Boy and the Riddler, Cree Summer became the third actress to voice Rocket, Danica [=McKeller=] replaced Alyson Stoner in the role of Batgirl, Creator/KevinMichaelRichardson replace Creator/DeeBradleyBaker as Blockbuster, Eric Lopez replace Creator/DannyTrejo as Bane, Creator/VanessaMarshall replaces Creator/SarahShahi as Killer Frost, and Creator/JeffBennett replace Creator/AlanTudyk as Psimon.
** ''Outsiders'' saw most of the voice cast return (including many of the characters who were recast for ''Legacy'' undergoing TheOriginalDarrin), but with six expections: Creator/GregCipes ([[WesternAnimation/TeenTitans in a]] RoleReprise) replaced Logan Grove (who joined the Navy) as Beast Boy, Creator/DavidKaye replaced Creator/MiguelFerrer (who'd died) as Vandal Savage, Creator/JamesArnoldTaylor replaced Creator/TimCurry (who suffered a debilitating stroke) as G. Gordon Godfrey, Creator/HyndenWalch replaced Creator/ArielWinter as Perdita, and Creator/ZehraFazal replaced Creator/KellyHu and Creator/DanicaMcKellar in the respective roles of Lian Nguyen-Harper and Hawkwoman.
