** It gets ''even worse'' if ''Amity Arena'' is to be believed. Apparently, he grew up a ''child slave'' in the SDC's Dust mines before he got branded.

** "One Thing" reveals just how poorly Neo has handled Torchwick's death back in Volume 3. The lyrics suggest that Neo had a very DarkAndTroubledPast and lived a life of misery before Torchwick came along, as well as state that Neo came to see him as the only good thing she had, and that she feels she has nothing left to live for except revenge against those who played a role in his death.

*** At one point the lyrics outside state that Cinder ''destroyed'' Neo's life.

** "Indomitable" is a mix between this and heartwarming. The song starts as a recount of the beginnings of RWBY, nd Monty's vision as he and the others shaped the world. The song then takes time to recount the lessons Monty imparted on everyone, and comments how despite how unfair his death was, his influence will never be forgotten, and thus will live forever through what he left behind.

** Remember that Atlas very likely also witnessed Yang's incident during the Beacon tournament, making potential backlash against Yang herself even worse (see Volume 3's Fridge page for context). Blake might face said racism and profiling for her Faunus heritage and involvement with the White Fang, but even if it's slightly less so, Yang could have her own version of being labelled as a barbaric Huntress among the Atlesian people. The journey to get to Argus was arduous enough, but actually being in Atlas is only going to be even more difficult for them both...

* After Oscar admits that Ozpin helped him safely crash land the airship during their battle with Cordovin, RWBY and JNR are visibly hostile, especially Yang, Nora and Jaune. Despite the additional events they went through before (JNR after settling in Argus) and after (RWBY after the train crash) each team respectively found out the truth behind Salem, and that both teams know he does still care about their wellbeing, they're still ''far'' from wanting to have anything to do with Ozpin for quite a while.

* When Yang pleads with Ozpin to trust them, Ozpin tersely snaps that Leo ''wasn't'' the first lieutenant to defect from his side. He then explains that he doesn't want to sow disunity between him and the others, but he feels the need to keep a few secrets so he can avoid massive breaches of trust. It puts his calmness when faced with Leo's betrayal in hindsight. He's seen it before.

* The look on Qrow's face when Ruby, his sweet, loving niece chews him out for being unhelpful for the past few episodes. Yes, he's been an ass, but the look on his face that he's yet again disappointed and hurt Ruby with his behavior (which almost got her and everyone else killed last time), shows that he's fearing the loss of yet another member of his family. And he has no one to blame except for himself.

** Concept art reveals that Salem's bedroom was locked from the outside, and that her door had ''no doorknob installed'', which means that she cannot open the door and leave the room out of her own free will. She's lucky if her requests to leave are granted ''at all'', or if her father and his servants have her at his beck and call - assuming she's allowed to leave in the first place - and not that things like eating her meals are only allowed in her chambers! Good lord, that has got to suck knowing that for most of your life, you are trapped in your room for as long as possible - where nearly everything you do is only allowed in these four walls!
*** On top of that, given that ''everyone'' had magic, she couldn't break herself out with her powers. Someone stronger would just overpower her and bring her back in. Isn't it just sad for her to know that she's ''definitely'' trapped in her room, and escape is nigh impossible when all attempts to do so are thoroughly quashed - because her father ''really made sure'' she wasn't able to?

** When Blake then tells Yang that she'll protect her from Adam, Yang is upset by her saying this (whether because she misinterprets it as Blake coddling her, or because she thinks it's an indication that Blake is only staying out of guilt, is unclear) and storms off. Worse because it comes right off a [[CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming Heartwarming Moment]] with Blake saying she won't leave Yang, which, given the volume 5 track ''All That Matters'' indicates that Yang fully expects Blake to leave her again one day, Yang seemed very touched and happy about.
