* A very depressing example of SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome occurs in this episode. Captain Planet and Kwame elaborate on how the environmentalist messages they were spreading reached few or none, how corporate greed has made pollution so much worse now, and that the rest of the Planeteers (Wheeler, Linka, Gi, and Ma-Ti) broke off the team due to finding "real jobs", meaning no one could summon Captain Planet for years to help people.

* K.O. looks genuinely hurt and upset when Chameleon Jr. mentions having a powerful dad while he doesn't have a dad at all. You can tell by Rad and Beardo's ReactionShot that even they feel for him about it.

* Dendy coldly experiments on K.O. when she realizes his SuperpoweredEvilSide T.K.O. activates in response to feeling powerless by giving him a simulation where he is given a SadisticChoice. Enid, Rad, and Mr. Gar are all trapped in a burning building, and he must only save one of them. Even though it's obviously fake, K.O. looks visibly distressed by the thought of seeing his friends die, whimpering helplessly as he goes into panic mode. It can be hard to watch seeing him reduced to tears, and Dendy [[LackOfEmpathy unemotionally]] [[WhatTheHellHero pushing him to do it for her own selfish gain]], even if she does eventually [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone realize what she's been putting him through]] once T.K.O. goes berserk and does the same to her.

* When Enid starts hallucinating everyone with Elodie's head, getting more and more stressed from seeing her face, she reaches her breaking point once she perceives someone fully as Elodie and impulsively moves to punch them. That person is ''K.O...'' Once she realizes that and snaps out of it, though it's brief, the [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone the guilt on her face]] from knowing she could have just seriously hurt her best friend is heartbreaking.

No meta moment, see this query.

* A LeaningOnTheFourthWall example: when K.O. is upset by how fast things seem to be changing, he thinks "This isn't fair! We were supposed to have more adventures!", right as he's walking past promotional flyers for all the previous episodes. It's a rather sad meta-commentary on how the show was cancelled earlier than the creators had planned, so even though they did get to give the series the ending they originally envisioned, they had to cut short some of the story they planned to tell and didn't get to show all the adventures they wanted to.

Kill Em All was renamed Everybody Dies Ending due to misuse. Dewicking

** Once T.K.O. starts draining (killing) everyone, he becomes more and more unhinged as K.O. plays Carol's recording from their childhood in his brain. Soon, only Carol, Gar, Enid, and Rad are left, and as they realize that T.K.O. isn't gonna spare them either, they can only huddle together in a GroupHug before he kills them too. Carol is crying, the others have tears in their eyes too, and T.K.O. ''himself'' is crying by the time he's finished blasting them. Although K.O. is successful in regaining control and escaping from his subconscious, by the time he returns, the Plaza is destroyed and [[KillEmAll EVERYONE he knows, both friend and foe,]] has already been killed by his alter-ego, leaving just him.
