[[folder: Ares No Tenbin]]
* Some time after the Football Frontier, Raimon split up as part of the Soccer Reinforcement Program in order to make other teams stronger. (The preview showing that Someoka joined Hakuren after that.) While there maybe some members that fans don't really like and the split is only temporary, it's still sad to see, knowing that the members could have gotten more closer with each other in the original series instead of splitting up temporarily.
** It's also sad that in this series Raimon doesn't meet some characters they met in Season 2 aside from Fubuki Shirou and members of Aliea Academy such as Hiroto and Midorikawa, because since the attack never happened. They never had to make a journey through Japan and as a result never met their teammates in Season 2 such as Zaizen Touko, Kogure Yuuya, Urabe Rika, Tsunami Jousuke, Hijikata Raiden or Tachimukai Yuuki.
* In episode 4 of ''Code Breaker'', Aphrodi has a HeroicBSOD over the fact that Zeus lost due to his mistake to accept Kageyama's Aqua Of the Gods and believes he's a failure of a captain. The old woman he meets in the episode makes him feel better.
* Episode 01 of Ares nothing more than a TraumaCongaLine for poor Asuto and Inakuni Soccer Club. First, Inakuni loses it's practice field after promising to get the chance to play against someone from the mainland. Then principal Fuyukai shut down the soccer club. After that, Asuto goes to the hospital, where his sick mother dies in front of his eyes after she encourages him to take back soccer.
* Episode 005 starts delving into Haizaki's issues. He was shy and lonely as a child until he met his neighbor, Akane Miyano. However, an incident left Akane comatose and unable to walk. Every time he goes to see her, she can't even acknowledge his existence.
** He visits her again in episode 7, where she still doesn't respond to him and leaves the room sad as usual... but when Haizaki is gone, Nosaka enters Akane's room and she actually responds to him and discards the present from Haizaki and accepts the one from Nosaka. If Haizaki didn't have enough issues already, Akane is basically cheating on him.
** It's later revealed, however, that Akane is faking it since she is working with Nosaka to find out more about the Ares no Tenbin program, but it doesn't make this any less sad.
* At the end of episode 7, Anna discovers from a crying Tsukushi that Chou Kinun is arrested and Inakuni Raimon has to play without their coach.
* Asuto's letter from his mother is both heartwarming and tear-jerking. It shows her regrets about not being able to spend more time with Asuto because of her ilness and not being able to leave the country with his father, who left it to follow his soccer dreams overseas and Asuto thought for a long time that he died in an accident, but it also shows her supporting Asuto's dream, who becomes more determined to win the Football Frontier and hopes to see his father one day.
* Episode 15: It's revealed Nosaka has a brain tumor and has only three months left to live.
* Episode 18: How Ares's Kira Hiroto turned out the way he is. To be exact, he was on the receiving end of the case of ParentsAsPeople and ParentalNeglect by Kira Seijirou himself as he grew up. To anyone who had been on his position once, the situation would have hit close to home.
--> '''Hiroto''': A guy like you, with high expectations from the old man, would never understand me. Not a single part of me.
* Episode 21: Michinari starts to feel useless as a captain, not helped by the fact that he can't make his team work together.

* The whole idea of the Grand Celesta Galaxy tournament is this. Faram mobius, a humongous military planet, is threathened by a black hole and to prevent a galactic scale war, the planets are instead forced to participate in a soccer tournament with the winner being allowed to keep their planet. You can truly see the desperation the opposing teams have with the captain of "Mach Tiger" falling to his knees upon them losing despite how far they came in the tournament and the desperation of "Storm Wolf" whose captain outright stated that there is nothing for them when they lose and this was just the preliminary tournament. In the actual Grand Celesta Glaxy, the population of Sandorius was shown to be outright fearful upon their loss.
