With the two schools locked in a tie, Reiji (Declan) appears and offers to duel Yuya in the tie-breaking game. Reiji turns out to be almost as good as a Pro Duelist, and quickly establishes himself as a Fusion user, activating Spell cards to search out monsters and fuse them together, but his card effects will damage him on his next turn. Yuya is hesitant to end his own turn and have Declan lose due to these consequences, and Reiji accuses him of being too soft in duels.

On his next turn, Reiji not only stops himself from losing by destroying his cards to negate their damage, but reveals he can do more than Fusion Summon. He proves it by Synchro Summoning and Xyz Summoning back to back, leaving Yuya facing three powerful monsters.

** BlowYouAway: DDD Alexander the King of Gales (DDD Gust King Alexander).
** MakingASplash: DDD Caesar the Surging Waves King (DDD Wave King Caesar).
