* TookALevelInJerkass: While Splinter has always been somewhat abrasive in his parenting, here he really takes the cake. After finding out his sons got caught on live TV, he spends the rest of episode yelling at them for being careless, angrily silencing Raph's counterpoint that they were slimed with toxic puke [[note]] And thus, not really at their best level. [[/note]] and shooting down Leo and Donnie's attempt to reason with him that Muckman's dangerous since he took them down. He then grounds the Turtles and forbids them from leaving the lair until he decides that he can trust them to watch themselves. He even goes as far to break the TV with his cane and take away Mikey's video tapes. Even after they fix the situation, he ungratefully whacks them (while destroying Mikey's T-Phone) for disobeying his orders while declaring they're still grounded.
* UngratefulBastard: Despite the fact that the Turtles managed to restore their secret, Splinter still whacks them and declares they're still grounded. While his anger towards them for sneaking out is understandable, he could've at least thanked them for doing what they thought was right.

The opening fight that ends with Muckman getting mutated has Bebop call out, "[[ScrewThisImOuttaHere That's it.]] [[CatchPhrase I'm outie 5000!]]" before turning invisible and bolting. Hun, the new leader of the Purple Dragons doesn't show up despite his big debut in the previous episode "[[Recap/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles2012S3E14CaseyJonesVsTheUnderworld Casey Jones vs. the Underworld]]". The Purple Dragons minus Hun make a cameo appearance, and Baxter Stockman has a non-speaking cameo. Casey Jones and Karai are also absent.

* BittersweetEnding: PlayedForLaughs. The Turtles gain an ally in Muckman and are able to keep their existence a secret, but in the process, they disobeyed Splinter and thus they're still grounded.

** Muckman's defeat of the Purple Dragons is a shorter, less-brutal and bloody version of [[Film/TheToxicAvenger Toxie's defeat of Cigar Face and his goons]].
