* ShoutOut: At least two to StarWars. Namely, Mikey tries to trip up the Kraang walker with his chain (doesn't work out as well for him though) and Casey uses (one would suppose) "The Hockey Force" to slap shot an explosive puck into a an exhaust port on the walker (this succeeds).

Not So Different has been renamed, and it needs to be dewicked/moved

* NotSoDifferent: After blowing up at Casey, Raph blows off Mikey's comment that people have feelings with "I'm not people". Newtralizer uses the same excuse later. Mikey, [[DumbassHasAPoint of all people]], points this out.
** On the opposite side, [[spoiler:Slash winds up in the same situation he put Raph in back in "Slash and Destroy", with a villain wanting to hurt potential allies just for being in the way. This is another factor to his HeelFaceTurn.]]

* SuddenlySpeaking: In his initial appearance, Newtralizer seemed incapable of speaking, the only vocalizing he did coming out as random yelling and roaring. Turns out he ''could'' speak after all; just no one could understand him (see TranslatorMicrobes below).

* JerkassHasAPoint: Raph getting pissed off at Casey was kind of justified. The first time they fought Newtralizer and Slash, Casey doesn't listen to Raph and would've been run over by a car if Raph hadn't saved him. Later, when escaping an exploding warehouse, Casey almost gets crushed by some debris, leaving Raph to save him again, and Casey acting like it wasn't a big deal.
* TheLoad: Casey to an extent until the end of the episode.

* HeroOfAnotherStory: Slash and Newtralizer seem to have had a plethora of offscreen fights against the Kraang before the episode started, and even before that, Slash, like his appearance in "Metalhead Rewired", had been captured by the Kraang before being saved by Newtralizer, implying another story that we didn't get to see.

Raphael starts to suspect that Casey is slowing him and the other turtles down when the two attempt to stop some Kraang. But then they stumble upon the very Kraang they've been tracking beat up and torn apart. The culprits are Slash and the Newtralizer, who have teamed up to stop the Kraang at all costs.

* TeleportSpam: Slash and Newtralizer use their stolen Kraang tech to make teleporters and do quite a bit of this throughout the episode.
* WhatTheHellHero: The other turtles give this to Raph after he blows up at Casey.
