* BigEater: Bibo is both this and an ExtremeOmnivore, constantly trying to eat everything in sight, even things like Neeku and the ''Fireball'' that physically don't fit in its mouth. Makes sense, considering how big it will eventually grow to be.

* GenreBlind: The often used MonsterIsAMommy plot will dawn on the viewer long before the characters catch on; Neeku eventually catches on though, stating that it was obvious the whole time in his EurekaMoment.
** Tam in particular assumes that Bibo is the monster’s prey. Not a terrible guess but wrong all the same.
* GiganticAdultsTinyBabies: The difference between Bibo, who is small enough to be comfortably carried in Neeku's arms, and his mother, who is practically as large as the Colossus, is pretty dramatic.

* GiganticAdultsTinyBabies: The difference between Bibo, who is small enough to be comfortably carried in Neeku's arms, and his mother, who is practically as large as the Colossus, is pretty dramatic. This prevents the people of the Colossus from figuring out what the monster wants with Bibo until Neeku finally puts two and two together.

Added DiffLines:

* GodzillaThreshold: Captain Doza initially forbids the Aces permission from firing missiles at the creature, due to its proximity to the platform. When they report that their laser cannons aren't working, Doza reluctantly authorizes the use of missiles.

Added DiffLines:

* {{Hypocrite}}: When Yeager orders Neeku to get rid of Bibo, due to the disruption it's causing, Tam calls him out in it, arguing that Kaz has caused worse disruption without getting kicked out for it and that Bibo should therefore be allowed to stay. Played with, as unbeknownst to Tam, Yeager has his own reasons for keeping Kaz around.

* RealityEnsues:
** Inciting panic is usually a major felony in most places. Kaz and Synara nearly get arrested for attempting to pull the pirate alarm before the monster actually appears.
** A sea creature is going to smell bad.

* BlackComedy: At the end, Kaz tries to cheer Neeku up buying him a gorg for a pet. Except Kaz forgot that gorgs are considered a delicacy on the Colossus. As such, Neeku immediately eats the poor creature as soon as he sees it. However, it did have the intended effect.
