* AssShove: Jesse orders Starr to shove all the tapes of Jesse's prayers up his ass. Before that, there is Hitler hiding the key to his cell in his ass.

Added DiffLines:

Tulip makes Jesse recover the armoured truck where he trapped the Saint of Killers, only to find that the Saint is gone, which causes friction between the two. Jesse finally figures out where God is hiding, but it's too late - God has already moved on. Tulip tries to destroy the Saint's revolvers, only to find that they are indestructable. Cassidy is worried about the changes in Denis' personality. Hitler and Eugene plot their escape from Hell.

!!Tropes
* AskAStupidQuestion: When Tulip asks Jesse why exactly he wants to find God, since he apparently is just as much of a jerk as everyone else, he replies that he, after all, created the universe.
* AssShove: Jesse orders Starr to shove all the tapes of Jesse's prayers up his ass.
* ContrivedCoincidence: It seems pretty convenient that a homosexual, a Jew and some communist agitators were not only at the same cafe as Hitler, but were inadvertently responsible for his StartOfDarkness.
* TheCoup: Herr Starr now plans to take over the Grail because the Messiah is obviously not what will lead them to greatness...
* DisproportionateRetribution: Apparently the Holocaust was caused by Hitler having his paintings rejected by a homosexual gallery owner, being made to look weak in front of his girlfriend by a Communist, and seeing a Jew eat the last piece of plum cake.
* TheDogWasTheMastermind: Or rather, the guy dressed up like a dog.
* DoubleMeaningTitle: "Backdoors" can refer to both the backdoor of Hell and the backdoors of the truck where the Saint of Killers was buried. For a third meaning, it could also be a euphemism for the place Jesse told Starr to put his tapes.
* EurekaMoment: Jesse has one while watching the dog Cassidy has bought Denis, remembering Humperdoo's drawings and their resemblance to the man in the dog costume he saw earlier in the season.
* FalseRapeAccusation: Featherstone (as "Jenny") threatens to make one of these to get the guy at the factory to cooperate.
* IHatePastMe: Hitler obviously takes no joy in relieving the moment where he turned bad over and over again.
* LongList: In the form of a recording. Jesse has prayed for forgiveness for a downright startling number of sins in his life, both petty and serious.
* MadeOfIndestructium: The Saint's revolvers, apparently. Putting them in a vat of 2000-degree molten metal doesn't even heat them up, much less cause them any damage.
* MyGreatestFailure: For Hitler, when he started WW2 based on the DisproportionateRetribution listed above. For Jesse, when he renounced his father and took up the name L'Angelle after being tortured by his grandmother.
* NegatedMomentOfAwesome: There is dramatic music playing when Hitler takes the gun and boldly walks up towards the violent communists... only for him to be intimidated by them anyway and just handing over the gun to them.
* NoodleIncident: Apparently Tulip once cracked Jesse's skull with a golf club.
* NotSoDifferent: Jesse points out to Tulip that they have both lied to each other and thus shouldn't be judgemental.
* OhCrap: The minute Hitler reveals to the residents in Hell that he may be ReformedButNotTamed.
* PrecisionFStrike: Hitler, when trying to get the residents of Hell to do his bidding.
* SecretTestOfCharacter: Jesse thinks that his first, unknowing meeting with God was this, and that he failed it by not recognising the Lord. Starr is less convinced.
* SilenceYouFool: When Hitler first tries to get the attention of the inmates to create a distraction for Eugene, they laugh at him, with Tyler asking why they should listen to him. His answer? ''[[PunctuatedForEmphasis BECAUSE I'M ADOLF. FUCKING. HITLER!!!!!]]'' Their laughter immediately turns into fear and obedience.
* StartOfDarkness: Hitler's worst memory turns out to be this. It's the moment he stopped being a good man and became a bad one.
* TranquilFury: Jesse was less than pleased the moment Starr showed him the recording of his prayers.
* TrouserSpace: Hitler keeps a key to his cell hidden there.
* WhatTheHellHero: Both Tulip and Cassidy are fed up with Jesse's attitude, pointing out that because of ''his'' selfish desire, only the two of them got hurt up to now.
* YourApprovalFillsMeWithShame: Tyler seems to think that it's kind of cool that Hitler ravaged Europe because he was robbed of the last piece of plum cake. Hitler does not seem to appreciate the sentiment at all.
* WhamLine: Genesis "glitches" twice after Jesse orders Starr to shove the tapes of his prayers up his ass.
