In the second half of the episode, Felix is upset at the mess the termite has made, but he can't wedge himself free. Just then, the termite saws another hole around Felix, freeing him. Felix has him cornered in the basement, and wonders how to take care of the bug. Deducing that since termites love wood, the best option is to get a woodpecker to take care of the bug. Felix heads off to the local pet shop and buys a lady woodpecker named Punchy. Felix takes the bird home in a covered up cage. Nearby, the termite has sawed a hole in the ceiling and is resting when he notices Felix bringing the cage inside. Felix sends Punchy after the insect and rests in his armchair once more. Unfortunately, Punchy gets distracted and randomly pecks holes in the wall as the termite eats Felix's model ship. The house starts shaking and the pecking starts annoying Felix, who yells for it to be quiet. Punchy then starts spitting out chunks of the wall at Felix. Felix grabs a broom and swats at the bird, who flies off into the hole in the ceiling. Up there, both Punchy and the Termite look through a window in the attic and see a big tree outside. They both fly outside and start tearing up the tree instead of the house, much to Felix's relief as he can finally sit down and relax--just as a hole is sawed in the floor beneath his armchair, sending Felix plummeting into the basement. The dazed Felix despondently mutters "Here we go again!" as the film irises out.For ocne, Felix doesn't win.

''The Termites of 1960'' is a 1960 WesternAnimation/FelixTheCat cartoon and the 32nd episode of the WesternAnimation/JoeOrioloFelixTheCat series.

Felix is spending the day relaxing in his home when he gets some mail, which turns out to be a warning from his Exterminator to be on the lookout for termites. Felix drops the envelope, failing to notice a shape moving around in it. Felix reads the rest of the letter, and it says that it has a termite included with it to show what one looks like. Felix looks in the envelope, but finds it's empty. Felix assumes the termite got lost in the mail, and decides to take a nap. Felix then hears a buzzing noise that stirs him, but he assumes its just his imagination and is about to go back to sleep when he sees a nearby chair getting torn apart. Felix immediately realizes there's a termite in the house as his table and wall paintings get eaten. Felix paces around, wondering what to do as his piano gets eaten from the inside. Felix hammers on the keys to try and crush the bug, but to no avail. Later, Felix sees the termite is trapped in his closet, and sets a trap for him--a trail of toothpicks that lead to an Iron that will fall on the bug. Felix goes to lie in his armchair just as his trap is sprung. Felix lifts up the iron, only to see that the termite drilled through the floor under it. Felix gets angry that he's in the basement now, and wonders what to do next--just as the termite saws a hole in the floor, trapping Felix in it. Felix can only look on helplessly as the bug continues ravaging his house.
