Otto and some of Rye's belongings, including his belt buckle, are buried at the Gerhardt farm. Lou and Ben arrive after the funeral and take Floyd to the station for questioning. She eventually accepts a side.deal that absolves her family members for all crimes previously committed in exchange for information about the inner workings of their drug operation.

Elsewhere, Bear drives Simone to a secluded wooded area where he shoots her for betraying the family. Lou asks Weathers to stay with Betsy and to keep an eye on her and Molly (Raven Stewart). Betsy claims to have received placebo pills for her treatments, and wants Weathers to look after her family after she is gone. Betsy goes to her father's house to feed the cat and discovers his office filled with strange drawings and symbols.

Meanwhile, Headquarters calls Milligan saying he has run out of time to take care of things. An "Undertaker" is being sent to take over. When he arrives, Milligan kills him and his two accomplices instantly, intending to blame the murders on the Gerhardts. Suddenly, Ed makes a call from a telephone booth to Milligan, stating that he has Dodd hostage in his trunk.

Kansas City and the Gerhardt enforcers continue stacking bodies while the crime family has a funeral for Rye and his father Otto. Bear updates Floyd on Dodd and Hanzee’s two-day absence, and Ben and Lou return to the Gerhardt house. The officers take Floyd into town while Bear ignores a call that claims to know the location of Dodd.

Hank interviews Floyd, who tells them the bloodshed on her end won’t stop due to the wounded pride of her sons. Hank proposes that she give them information on how to deal with Kansas City to help her out. Simone, meanwhile, meets with Mike, who’s being chewed out by Hamish Broker on the phone. Broker gives him two days to stablilize the situation and informs him that he’s sending the Undertaker to take charge. As soon as she arrives, Simone yells at Mike for killing Otto instead of her dad, but Gale Kitchen restrains her, prompting her to scream for help when there’s a knock at the door. Lou and Schmidt bust in, and Schmidt escorts Simone out of the room while Lou holds the two men at gunpoint.

In the elevator, Simone knees Schmidt in the balls and walks out, only for her uncle Bear and Ricky G to show up in the parking lot. Bear offers to drive her home in his pickup, and Ricky G gets out and drive Simone’s car home. Back in the room, Lou warns Mike and Gale to leave the state and give up their crime war before letting them go, promising to shoot the next time he sees them.

At the Solverson residence, Betsy finds Karl and Sonny making breakfast as per Lou’s request to take care of her while he’s gone. Bear, meanwhile, drives Simone out to the woods and marches her through the snow. He calls her out on siding with Kansas City and tells her to kneel after pulling out a gun. She begs for her life, but Bear is too content on going through with the job. Shortly after, he returns to his truck without Simone and drives away from the scene. When he comes home, Ricky G informs him that the same man from earlier called claiming to know Dodd’s location, but Bear tells him that there is no Dodd anymore.

Noreen sits with Sonny and Karl at Betsy’s place while she answers a call from Lou. They catch up for a little while before returning to work, where Hank informs him that Floyd is willing to negotiate with the police. She fills them in on some false details about Kansas City’s smuggling operation, and back at the hotel, Gale receives a call for Mike, warning him that the Undertaker is coming.

The next day, Bear picks up Floyd at the police station and Hank informs Lou that an Indian matching Hanzee’s description allegedly shot up a bar in Sioux Falls looking for a young couple. Betsy, meanwhile, tells Karl to look after Lou and Molly when she’s gone. She goes over to Hank’s house to feed his cats and finds one of his rooms covered in papers filled with strange symbols.

Floyd and Bear return home, where Ricky G tells them that Hanzee is on the phone and has supposedly found Dodd. Mike, meanwhile, waits to meet the Undertaker, who he shoots immediately after he enters the room. The phone rings once again, and answering it, Mike finds Ed Blumquist on the line offering him Dodd Gerhardt.
