* NewTechnologyIsEvil: This trope is actually inverted, with the Corroborators used to determine the severity of crimes, but this episode still demonstrates a sinister flaw in such a device, in a subtle deconstruction of new tech being used to find criminal details easier. With her secret uncovered by the machine, she has to go on a killing spree and there's a long line of people she had to kill to cover her tracks because their memories - both through common reoccurrence and the Corroborators - can be used to track her down.

Rewatching this one, Shazia says she'll have to come back with the police if Mia won't cooperate, so it seems Mia couldn't have kept refusing and would have made herself look even more suspicious if she had.

** Mia's chain of murders could have been avoided if she had refused to be interviewed by Shazia, or refused to use the Corroborator and gave only verbal answers. She may have wanted to avoid raising suspicion, but as Shazia's not part of law enforcement she can't legally use the Corroborator on Mia without her consent and she likely would have just written it off as her being unnerved by the technology.

* SwissCheeseSecurity:
** To dispose of Rob's body, Mia enters a construction site by simply unwrapping a padlock and chain on the gate. No bolt cutters or lockpicking tools are seen.
*** She is the architect who designed the building under construction, so she probably has a key to the site.
** Anan Akhand (Shazia's husband) leaves the front door unlocked while he's home alone at night. This allows Mia to easily enter the house and sneak behind him.

* AssholeVictim: Not that he deserved to ''die'', but Rob killed a man while drunk-driving and made Mia cover it up to protect him; when he decides to soothe his own conscience 15 years later after seeing that the deceased mans widow is still waiting for him to come home, he is insistent on exposing the truth anonymously, despite being fully aware that Mia would also face the consequences of it should the information be traced back to him.
** Mia by the end considering she killed three adults and ''a blind infant''. Though calling her a "victim" is [[BlatantLies being VERY generous.]]

** Shazia is dubious at first when Anan gets a guineapig as a present for her and their son Ali, saying "It's just that we've got a lot going on, what with Ali and..." before changing her mind. At the end of the episode we learn what was going on with Ali; he's blind and Shazia wasn't sure about having a pet in addition to that.

* TooDumbToLive: Shazia, an insurance agent who constantly looks into people's memories, doesn't carry ''any'' kind of weapon for protection in case she comes across a memory someone will kill to keep secret. Pepper spray alone would have probably stopped the murderous Mia in her tracks. Going about in pairs with a co-worker would also solve so many problems.

* MindProbe: The Corroborators serve this purpose, as they allow the operator to see and hear what the victim was doing at a time in the past. The only thing that takes this out of FridgeHorror territory is that subjects give consent to being probed first... but it doesn't ''require'' consent to work, as Mia demonstrates on Shazia.
