Possibly out of concern for Thea, since Darhk has finally worked out who the Arrow is; Darhk * ADeathInTheLimelight: Laurel gets a lot of focus in this episode between her relationship with Oliver and the rest of Team Arrow as well as her double life and the possibility of her possibly leaving the Black Canary behind and focusing entirely on being a DA. Sure enough she dies at the end of the episode.even mentions that Merlyn kept Team Arrow's identities a secret.

* StuffedIntoTheFridge: Damien killing Laurel was because her father betrayed Damien, so Damien wanted payback for that.

** Ruve Adams wins the mayoral election due to not having an opponent (though Oliver still got 48% of the vote as a write-in candidate).
** Just because Nyssa dissolved the League of Assassins, doesn't mean all of its members stopped being evil. So Malcolm is able to recruit the remains of his old loyalist faction.
** Given how dangerous Team Arrow's work is, it was only a matter of time before somebody didn't come back from a mission.
** Given the personal ties between the members of Team Arrow, a single security breach is enough for someone to work out the connection between Oliver Queen's bodyguard and everyone else.

* PlatonicDeclarationOfLove: Everyone in Team Arrow (with the [[TheFirstCutIsTheDeepest notable exception of Oliver]]) expresses this to Laurel in response to her own. Then they leave Oliver alone with her so she can express a DyingDeclarationofLove.

** Quentin Lance starts arguing loudly with the police surrounding Iron Heights (and is even suggested to punched Lt. Pike offscreen) so Team Arrow can slip past the cordon.

* AmbiguousSituation: The fact that we don't overhear Laurel's last request of Oliver right before her death has already started up theories on him helping her [[FakingTheDead fake her death]]. WordOfGod denies this, [[LyingCreator but they've lied before]].

* PuttingTheBandBackTogether: Malcolm is able to recruit some old League loyalists to assist him.
* RailingKill: Taiana shoots a goon who is shooting escaping prisoners; he falls over the rail, onto a locker and then hits the ground hard.
