Shouichi relishes in fear and unsurprisingly gets along with fellow NightmareFetishist Scarecrow. Shouichi sometimes tests new fear toxins for the good doctor, even though he thinks using a serum instead of inducing fear personally is [[{{Hypocrite}} cheating]]. Or he thinks that Crane is a sissy for getting beaten by Batman, an actual living symbol of fear.

Quitting high school and turning to virtual reality as an escape, he was trapped in SAO and fell under Vassago Casal's influence as one of {{the dragon}}s of Laughing Coffin. A NightmareFetishist who specializes in spying and kill strategies, his sickly body is nothing to scoff at as it hides a devil inside. One of the worst examples of gaming addiction in the Pantheon, he has been banned from the houses of Pantheon/{{Gaming}} and Pantheon/{{Technology}} with a provisional ban from the House of Pantheon/FamilyAndRelatives.
** Serves as Death Gun's MissionControl, relaying instructions from a darkened room full of computers and hacking devices. While he can go outside in his Sterben avatar, he prefers not to unless the target is especially important ([[ArchEnemy or Kirito]]). Besides, no one wants him to get out of his chair. His exceptional memory, hacking and observational skills have earned him the attention of some House of Pantheon/{{Technology}} deities. All good-aligned deities from the sub-house of Pantheon/TechnologicalExperts hate him for perverting useful technology to kill people. Fellow hacker Aiden Pearce even suggested his ban from both houses, for which Shouichi has sworn revenge.

** ...which happened on the day Kyouji, Shino and the ''SAO'' gang attended a gala in the House of Pantheon/{{Music}}. Kyouji was almost kidnapped in the toilet tending to his ears after a particularly grating opera performance. Kousei Arima in passing witnessed the event and called for security to detain the Shocker goons and Kyouji was able to watch the rest of the concert in relative peace and thought his performance with Kaori made him feel ecstasy. When he asked Kousei how he heard him through the noise, the master pianist said this:

Since then, the two groups have many misadventures, involving school, fighting bad guys or just good old hanging out somewhere. It also helps that Gentaro can tolerate Yuri's attitude (since JK was also a bit of a prick in the past) stating that, by befriending him, that means that someone accepts Yuri. This all ended with Gentaro giving his handshake to all eight of them.

** The trio's MasterPoisoner, Atsushi has plenty to play with in the House of Pantheon/{{Toxicity}}, in particular Caesar Clown. They've experimented on poisons in the thousands and once raised the eyebrows of everyone in the nearby House of Pantheon/{{War}} when rumour spread of them using [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zyklon_B Zyklon B]]. They vehemently deny this because they believe that said gas is way too tame.
